Default Set:

Dauntless Lance
( - )
Moonbow

Atk/Def+
Wrath
( - )

Everyone's favorite Country Girl from Path of Radiance. Considering how oversaturated the Lance pool is does she stand out in anyway? Well ...

Looking at her stats she is doing pretty well. 35 Spd is high and thanks to a multitude of options in form of Sacred seals and weapon refinements it is easy to give her 40+ Spd; just enough to avoid doubles from faster Red units roaming in the Arena. With a Spd boon and an appropriate A passive she will be able to double quite a bit. She also has a really good Def at 34, taking minimal damage foes that swing a sword against her.

Her Atk is average and her HP is low though the latter is not much of an issue thanks to weapon refinements giving her +5 HP. You will not be wanting of more HP on her and thanks to her high Def it shouldn't be much of a detriment against physical attacks. If you're looking for someone that can effectively use Panic Ploy though you're out of luck.

The only real bad stat she has is Res which is quite typical for most units of her kind. Thanks to her high Spd she might be able to survive a hit from a red or blue mage without a -blade tome but it is nonetheless a risk to have her in range of magical attacks. Keep that mind.

Her unique weapon is the Dauntless Lance which is a stronger Slaying Lance with Armor effectiveness just for good measure. Considering Armor units with their high durability can be a problem to her this is a much appreciated upgrade to her default kit. The unique refine gives +4 Spd & Def which is a solid increase to her overall durability and allows her to pursue a role as a physical tank.

Nephenee can be described as a solid infantry unit, possessing a rather unique combination of high Spd and unusually high Def. This makes her an excellent choice against Red Units and most physical Blue units will have some trouble against her. However she is still easy prey for mages, especially Green ones due to her awful Res.
Since she comes with Wrath and a better Slaying Lance it doesn't require a lot to build a fully functional unit out of her which is quite good for resource-starved players.

Builds:

Budget

Spoiler

Boon/Bane: +Atk/-Res or +Spd/-Res

Slaying Lance+ (+Spd refine)
Reposition/(flexible)
Moonbow/Bonfire/(flexible)

Fury 3
Wrath 3
(flexible)

Speed+/(flexible)

This build is pretty straightforward and quite cheap as she only needs Fury in her A slot. The rest of her kit can be anything you want or need for your team.

Fury boosts her stats even further and synergizes greatly with her innate Wrath skill, giving her faster access to the cooldown reduction on her Specials. A Spd-refined Slaying Lance will supplement her Wrath very nicely gives her 41 Spd at neutral; enough to avoid most doubles. With a Spd boon she will able to avoid doubles from even the fastest units like Ayra and can double some enemies on her own.

In case of Moonbow Nephenee will able to unleash a Wrath-boosted Moonbow everytime she attacks, giving her a consistent damage boost. Bonfire trades consistency with power, capitalizing on her high Def to reach higher damage. Here you are relying on your opponent initiating on her so she can counter with the Special. Just be careful that she has enough HP to survive a hit since Fury will strain on her durability.

In terms of her C passives Nephenee has nothing really that stands out exclusively to her. She has neither the HP or Res to use Ploys, so it's better to give her the usual Hone/Drive skills. Since she is meant to be a tank putting Smoke skills on her will allow her to debuff the entire enemy team while soaking up damage.

Dauntless Breath of the Country

Spoiler

Boon/Bane: +Spd/-Res or +Def/-Res

Dauntless Lance (unique refine)
Reposition/(flexible)
Bonfire/Ignis

Steady Breath
Wrath 3
(flexible)

Speed+/Close Def/(flexible)

Owning to her new weapon Nephenee can utilize a Steady Breath set with wicked effectiveness albeit with a different niche compared to say Lukas. Thanks to the higher cooldown reduction she is able to release a Bonfire every time she takes a hit and she takes very little damage in return, reaching 42 Def without boon or banes. In either case she can demolish most physical units that initiate on her and once Wrath is active there are only few that can survive a counter from her.

The choice of your boon and seal can make quite a difference depending on what Nephenee is supposed to do. Even if you don't choose to improve it she will reach 39 Spd with her unique refine enough avoid most doubles. If you add the Spd+ seal or a Spd boon she will have 42, enough to avoid all notable doubles except Ayra with a Spd boon and Swift Sparrow. Mia and Karla have little hope to survive the Bonfire proc, making their higher Spd stat meaningless.

If you don't care too much about that Close Def is by far the best choice, giving her a total increase of +14 Def which is almost at the same level as Lukas and she is very likely not to get doubled by Dragons, giving her much more sustain against all kinds of enemies.

Dauntless (Mixed Phase Edition)

Spoiler

Boon/Bane: +Spd/-Res

Dauntless Lance (+Spd refine)
Reposition/(flexible)
Bonfire/Ignis

Steady Breath
Wrath 3
(flexible)

Speed+

(WIP)

A few comments since I recently did a bajillion calcs on Nephenee to figure out how to build her after Dauntless Lance was released.

Despite her low Res, even with -Res, she can competently survive red mages, though just barely on some of them, and one-hit kill on the counterattack with Distant Counter, Moonbow, and Wrath.

Depending on the enemies you need her to take down, she can run pretty much any of the standard enemy-phase skill combinations very competently:

  • Bonfire + Guard + Quick Riposte
  • Bonfire + Quick Riposte + Close Def / Distant Def
  • Moonbow / Bonfire + Wrath + Quick Riposte

Steady Breath actually reduces her first-round performance because too many enemies stop being able to activate Wrath, so Warding Breath might be a better choice.

Also, it's perfectly fine to bump your threads when you update them to tell people that there's something new to look at.

Well, Red mages aren't exactly stellar and even Lilina doesn't one-shot Nephenee reliably (though as you said she only survives barely) due to WTD.

l'm not exactly sure if Quick Riposte is in general needed in her case. Is there anything noteable that she could ORKO by using Quick Riposte?
If I count my CD reduction correctly she can trigger Bonfire twice if she gets doubled and she can double which she can ensure with Quick Riposte. But they are only so many units that can double her.
1. Fast Swords: A Bonfire proc should one-shot them (at least that's the outcome when I use Ayra).
2. Bold Fighter Armors: She is fast enough to double almost all of them by just having her unique refine and she does effective damage against them.
3. Firesweep Builds: Nothing matters here.

On the other hand it keeps her alive longer. Considering she is on the border of taking no damage from reds I'm not exactly sure if sacrificing that just for faster Wrath access is a good trade.
Not to mention Warding Breath doesn't allow her to escape 2HKO from mages or Dragons in the first place so you would only profit from the CD reduction.
Of course that is without taking the Close Def seal in account (which puts her at 44 and 30 respectively).

Nah, I will wait until someone takes notice.

That being said I should have a bit more builds listed. A mixed phase build with a +Spd refine on her Dauntless Lance, at least a mention of Brazen Atk/Def considering she is one of the units that should be able to take advantage of it. I also forgot about Guard and that one is important since her HP pool is so lacking.

If you're running Distant Counter instead of Steady Breath or Warding Breath, then just about every fast red unit in the game because you can't get an instant Bonfire out.

I still don't understand why Nephenee got a prf, she was always good.

Oh, she was really good. But I don't think that's necessarily the criteria...even Katarina was pretty good despite her refine.

Look at Henry, he ain't got shit. They better get him a Close Counter Owltome built-in double "Breath" effect with cooldown reduction and +10 on specials.
