Actually, I find Goku is a more appropriate comparison. They're both very powerful main characters who aren't very good parents and die a lot. :P

"Good...you know, there's not a day in my life that I've regretted memorizing this spell. Anyway, you know the plan?"

"Of course! Niles and I ready to execute it!"

"Excellent..."

"Ah, hello, good sir!"

"Uh...who are you?"

"I am Odin Dark, a Dark Mage of the darkest darkness!"

"...so, why are you here, 'Mister Dark?'"

"I admire your prowess in prison-guarding, so I wish to demonstrate and explain the most darkest of dark spells!"

"...what are you-"

"That, my good friend, is a tome which contains the darkest dark magic of darkness...turning sections of walls into stairs!"

"How is that 'dark?'"

"'Tis a most diabolic tome! Very powerful, very high level. Of course, you know the drawback of powerful, high level tomes, correct?"

"I don't. What is it?"

"High weight!"

(Odin thonks the guard on his head, knocking him out. He and Niles (who jumps out from behind him) ready their weapons, but nobody comes)

"Huh...pretty low security for convicts of high treason. It's a wonder it hasn't been escaped from before."

(He walks over to Leo's cell door and picks the lock.)

"Wonderful. First order of business, find out where Iago put Brynhilde."

(Niles tosses him the guard's sword)

"No time, I heard him talking to his 'spy' on the way here: he knows Camilla joined up with Michele."

"What?! That's good for them, but I need to get to Elise immediately!"

"We'll go get her retainers and set them up with some horses...the rest is up to you."

"Oh, and take this dark tome!"

"...The one for making stairs?"

"You never know when it might be handy!"

"...All right. Now, I really have to move!"

(Iago is talking to Daniela, who is just outside Elise's room, via the sending stone, while Elise listens at the door)

"It seems our royal friend has made the poor decision to join up with the treacherous Michele...care to teach her a lesson in loyalty?"

"Did she know that we would kill her sister if she betrayed King Garon?"

"...No."

"Heh...even better."

(She opens the door and enters the room)

"Little princess? I've been told to find you...important royal mission, you know..."

"Yeah? Well, I think both of us are too old for hide and seek!"

(She jumps off her bed and grab onto Daniela by the neck)

"Ugh! Get off me, you little brat!"

(She throws Elise to the floor)

"Before I snuff out your pitiful, naive life, let me ask you a question: did you really think you could stop me?"

"No...but I did think I could distract you!"

(Leo comes up behind Daniela and runs her through with his sword.  He pulls it out, and she falls to the ground.)

"...Sorry you had to witness that."

"Hey, it beats dying."

"How'd you know I would come?"

"Of course you would. You're my brother."

"...Really?"

"That, and Effie let me know about the plan."

(Leo uses the tome to turn the back wall into a stairway down to the ground)

"I had Arthur and Effie saddle up Sparkles and two other horses. Hopefully, you can try to rendezvous with Michele at Notre Sagesse."

"You're not coming?"

"No, I can't leave without Xander. Hopefully, he'll be easier to convince, now that you've escaped."

"Well, I haven't technically escaped yet..."

"And that's why you need to!"

"But...what if they execute you before you get a chance to leave?"

"Well, then...I guess we'll have to make our last words to each other good ones."

(They hug)

"I'll always believe in you."

"Your collar's inside out."

"Wait, really?!"

"Nah, just teasing you."

"Heh..."

(Clanking)

"Someone's coming. You need to head off."

(Elise nods, runs down the stairs, and rides off with her retainers)

"Well, I ended up here on a chain of favors, and Keaton over here got lost-"

"I was NOT lost! I was just...wandering."

"OK, Keaton wandered here; I'm glad he did, 'cause he helped me repay this nice dancer lady, so then I owed him."

"No, you don't owe me anything!"

"So then I started following him around, until these weird, transparent purple guys showed up and started attacking the city!"

"They suddenly noticed us, and started attacking. We tried to escape, but one of them threw a big axe at Kaden. Luckily for him, I tripped..."

"Tripped? You jumped in front of me!"

"I TRIPPED...and it hit me instead."

"So then I owed him for saving me-"

"Accidentally."

"-accidentally. Right. Anyway, to repay him, I carried him to safety...or at least, I tried to."

"So, now we're even! Great!"

"Actually, I still owe you for helping me help that dancer, so I just need to-"

"NO! No! You can repay me by leaving me along."

"Oh. All right. I still owe you for healing me, though."

"U-uh...if you want to repay me, you c-can join up with my sister, Michele. W-we need all the help we can get."

"Great!  Hey, Keaton, you want to come along?"

"Well...all right. But only because I have nothing better to do!"

"Lady Michele? Do you have a moment?"

"Mozu?! When did you get here? How did you get here?!"

"Just now. I'm a ninja, after all."

"Ah...that explains it. So, where were you?"

"Scouting ahead. I found that the Nohrian and Hoshidan army are fighting here...and they're led by the crown princes."

"Xander and Ryoma?! We need to stop them!"

 

(Shortly...)

"However, I cannot stand for the atrocities these Nohrians have committed!"

"I will not deny that I have launched an unprovoked attack against your armies on the orders of King Garon, Prince Ryoma-"

"King Ryoma!"

"...Well, then, who's in charge of domestic Hoshido?"

"I left my brother, Takumi, in charge of the country!"

"Actually, Takumi's with us!"

"...That's probably for the best!"

"*ahem* However, I have made my best effort to ensure domestic damage is a minimum! I would not be surprised if the more zealous members of your army dealt this destruction, in hopes of this exact situation."

"Silence! I will not listen to your lies! You Nohrians are the same: unscrupulous, dishonorable, deceitful-"

"I'm standing right here, you know."

"...Scarlet is the exception."

"Both of you are half right! This damage isn't the result of Hoshidan, nor Nohrian forces: the blame lies with Wallite forces!"

"...I'm sorry, what?"

"The Wallites. They're the ones who attacked the the plaza in...what was the capital's name, again?"

"We...never gave it one."

"...I don't know what to say to that, so I won't say anything."

"...Let's...just go back to fighting."

"...I d-don't think they're paying attention."

"Shall we knock some sense into them?"

"I'd prefer not too...but I don't see many other options..."

Battle (Part 1):

Seeing as I plan to have her marry him, I have Camilla Pair Up with Keaton. As an aside, Oboro moves out of the way for Kaden to grab the debris blocking our exit.

More Pair Ups and positioning...

Kagero baits out and kills an Outlaw...

...and Keaton does the same to this Spear Fighter.

On our turn, he defeats this Archer...

...while Reina brutally murders this Ninja.

...Another Outlaw dies...I think.

Hey, she got a level out of it. Skill and Defense are very welcome!

Two Mercenaries die: one to Hayato, and the other to Michele.

The former is attacked by a Knight, taking heavy damage but defeating him in return.

Reina equips the Bamboo Yumi and baits that Onimyojji in the corner.

Meanwhile, Mozu hitches a ride on our favorite anime protagonist and takes out this Outlaw.

Over here, Kagero gets in the range of this Cavalier.

This Mercenary attacks Mozu. Obviously, no one ever told him what happened to people who attack Mozu.

Don't worry, that HP is after the enemy's attack, not before.

Reina manages to brave the odds and hit the Swordmaster, weakbuffing him...

...for Oboro to snatch the kill.

Camilla and Hinata work together to defeat this Oni Savage.

Over on the other end, Kagero equips her Dual Shuriken and places an obstacle.

Results are...pretty good.

On our turn, Reina flies down to this Master of Arms, weakening him and gaining a level.

Deinonychus, Reina! You need to get better levels than this if you want to compete with Hisame!

Anywho, Camilla ferries Keaton down here to grab the kill.

Hinata weakens this Ninja (getting hit in the process, sadly)...

...and Oboro takes him out.

She gains a very good level, too. Look at those stats!

Jakob picks off the Outlaw in order to see if he has a normal EXP gain, now. He doesn't.

Next, Michele makes good use of the Dual Club to take out Laslow.

Spectacularly.

Hayato equips his +1 Ox Spirit to bait the Archer.

That's him dodging, by the way.

The Diviner also attacks. He is dealt with.

Half-decent? I am appalled! Our army is, at worst, 3/4 decent! Hrmph...

Peri is taught a short, sharp lesson in underestimating her opponents.

Sakura gains a very nice level from healing. Look, token defense!

No, wait...it's higher than her Resistance now.

I realize that I haven't used Kaden once on this map, so he gets to kill this Samurai.

Then, I make the poor decision to have Keaton kill this Spear Fighter. You may be wondering, "Why is it a poor decision?"

Because it puts him in the range of the General.

She gets a really good level out of it, too. This is why they call you girl Haar! Well, Michele is honestly a more appropriate comparison...what with the narcolepsy...

Jakob does pretty good against this first Paladin, over on the other side of the map.

Then, Oboro baits out...someone...

Well, there's our answer.

Camilla and Mozu takes out this Knight...

Mozu and Camilla conspire to get Kagero some more EXP from Xander.

"You could join up with Michele, here and now. I'm sure we could find a way to rescue Leo. You know she would support a mission to Krakenburg."

"No! I can't say...(Camilla has turned against Nohr, and Elise is in danger...perhaps if I fulfill my mission, father may convince Iago to be merciful...)"

Kagero finishes our dear brother off.

"I need...healing...I must recuperate and charge back into battle..."

Minimalstic, but very valuable. She's gotten a lot of Skill so far.

Hinata finishes off the Master Ninja...

...while Mozu baits out the Wyvern Rider.

Hayato doesn't crit Scarlet, but still takes her down to 5 HP.

Camilla defeats this Wyvern Rider on her turn...

...and another on the enemy's.

Hayato takes out Scarlet, gaining a pretty great level. Only three levels to promotion!

After some turns of moving, Jakob weakens the boss...

...for Michele to take him out.

"Actually, Lord Xander, your wounds are particularly grievous, I'm not sure you even can keep fighting. What with the Hoshidans offering a truce, I believe our best option is retreat."

"...Very well, Laslow. We'll tend to our wounded, then we ride for Krakenburg...we can only hope father grants us leeway."

(They prepare to return to camp)

"Wait! Xander!"

"Michele, I can't-"

"Don't worry, we'll wait for you."

"...Don't. I still respect your mission, but I cannot assist it, and I no longer think of you, nor Camilla, as my sister."

"..."

(They go off)

"Michele, Takumi and Sakura have filled me in on what you've done so far. I'm...sorry for doubting you before. I was enraged at the Nohrian...your brother, and I wasn't ready to listen. To be honest, you've made great strides in reaching peace."

"I suppose I have...still, the way Xander behaved...what was he talking about?"

"Regardless, I wan't you to know that you have my full support in your endeavors."

"Lord Ryoma!"

(Kagero runs up)

"Kagero! I hope you're well."

"I'm doing quite fine...at least, physically."

"Ah, yes...Takumi told me about Saizo...I'm sorry."

"Don't worry; my duty is always first, before my emotions."

"I suppose. Still, it's not something I would wish anyone to endure..."

"I understand, Lord Ryoma...should I start searching for a new retainer, or is it too soon?"

"I...wasn't really planning on it..."

"*ahem* Back to business...do you think you can join up with us, Ryoma?"

"I understand. You've been basically absent for your entire reign, and it'll take some time to win back the people...especially after you left Takumi in charge."

"I'd indignantly shout 'hey!', but you're probably right."

"When I feel I can leave the country again, I promise: we shall return to your aid."

"Thank you, brother."

"Heh...I think that's the first time you've ever call me that."

"Lady Elise! Sorry we're a bit late, I misplaced our backup map."

"Are you two sure you want to fight? These soldiers seem to be...out of your league."

I give out some tonics before I start the chapter. Now...let the battle begin!

Battle (Part 1):

Before we jump into the battle, you may be wondering what will happen if the poll ends in a tie. Well...to be honest, I would prefer for Michele to marry Benny in this game, so unless Kaden overtakes him at the last minute, he'll be our chosen husband. Now, back to killing Nohrians.

To start us off, Oboro visits the nearest house, getting us a Rod that will be very handy later down the line...

Arthur Pairs Up with Kagero, who gets in the range of the off-screen Cavaliers.

Even with the movement boost from Camilla, Jakob just barely fails to reach the westernmost house. Oh, well, he'll get it next turn.

Kaden gets ready to Dual Strike with Oboro...

...and Elise and Sakura get in their patented Royal Little Sister Personal Skill Formation (TM).

Michele makes use of the Fire Orb, while Hinata (with Mozu's support) assists Kagero in her Cavalier-baiting. Now...

Let the Cavalier massacre begin!

The promoted form, though not killed, is weakbuffed by Kagero.

Jakob gets around to visiting the other house. Man, these Nestrans really like their staves.

This Fighter (the only one in range, thankfully) heavily damages Jakob, who retaliates by killing him...and worse, blasting off his clothes.

Kagero...

A) Takes heavy damage from the Paladin.

B) Defeats said Paladin in return.

C) Gets a good level out of defeating said Paladin.

D) Dodges death fighting another Paladin.

Michele and Louie and still manning the Fire Orb.

Jakob kills that pesky Fighter...

...while, on the other side of the map, Oboro baits out the General.

After some heals from Sakura, Kagero is able to safely pick off the weakened Paladin. However, there's still one left, and he's at full health...

Good thing we have two promoted units who gain ample EXP from these guys!

(Ample EXP and good levels, precisely)

The General-baiting yields...acceptable rewards.

Oh, dear. That's quite a lot of damage. How rude of you! Do you know what Reina does to rude people?

She BRUTALLY MURDERS whittles them down for someone else to take the kill. Someone like...

Kagero! (The marked range is some Fighters, which is why she's using a Dual Shuriken)

Great level, right there! You know, my Kagero is pretty Skill-blessed; on average, she gets this much Skill at level 20. We might just be able to make a decent combatant out of you yet!

Hinata doesn't crit the Outlaw, so Hayato comes down to finish the job.

Oboro finishes off this General, though she doesn't critical until the last hit. I'd complain, but it gives me a reason to have Elise Mend her, which means more EXP for my favorite Fates royal!

It also gets her a pretty great level!

I love using Dual weapons the way they're supposed to be used. It's very satisfying. At least, it is for me.

Oboro attacks this General that just showed up but sadly fails to crit.

Even with Seal Defense, Kaden is just too weak to take him down. Thankfully...

Deus ex Michele!

She also proves that she's still got it. Nice stats! Everything 18/19 except for Magic and...Luck...

...so, she'll be getting any spare Goddess Icons we can get our hands on.

Jakob gains a great level from healing. Celebrate all you want, Jakob! Only one more level until you can be good again!

We bait some enemies on the east side. You know how it goes.

Mozu also nabs a Master Seal from the nearby house...

...as Reina nabs a Levin Sword from the not-as-nearby one.

Kaden gets a little dinged up by these Knights, but also brings them down to low HP in the bargain.

As for the Outlaw, he never stood a chance.

I mean, he did manage to hit Kagero, but that's hardly fatal, especially with two healers on standby.

Over on the top part, some enemies are picked off...

...some healing levels are gained...

...some Outlaws are baited and subsequently damaged...

...some severely underrated characters are recruited...

...said underrated characters pick off the weakened Outlaws...

Some mediocre Let's Players decide to stop talking like this, because it's very confusing.

Effie transfers Kaden to Oboro, in order for him to get more support points with her.

Not bad at all...you'll make a pretty good Priestess once you promote.

With her great Skill and immense Speed, Mozu is the perfect choice for the wielder of the mighty LobsterBat...which is ironic, considering I plan to have her marry Xander.

Oboro defeats a Mercenary and gets an OK level.

Then, the reinforcements showed up.

Luckily, we hit one of the two high points for the number of people at the spot where they arrive: "lots of people." (The other high point is "nobody")

Anyway, I start dealing with them by having Reina take out one the two Cavaliers...

...and Kaden defeat the other.

Not bad...more Strength would be helpful, though.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to defeat the Mercenary this round with just Effie and Benny. Luckily, Elise was able to get out of range.

Over on Silas' boat, Mozu criticals a General to death...

...and Kagero starts pelting the other one with Shurikens.

Mozu takes a bit of damage from the Javelin Knight. Nothing she can't handle.

Reina is also damaged by the Mercenary. This is actually good, however, because healing promoted units gives you more EXP.

Battle (Part 2):

Sakura Rescues Elise to get her back to the main group, and also to build support points between them.

Hinata crits this Outlaw and gets a mediocre level.

After several turns of moving up, Kagero baits out and subsequently kills a Mercenary.

Afterwards, Jakob whittles down his buddy...

...for Benny to pick off.

After several more turns of moving, Oboro hands her Dual Naginata over to him so he can bait the Fighter over to the left.

He gets a convenient critical and a good level while doing so.

This turn, we take care of this crew of Nohrians. Hayato takes out the first...

Hinata and Benny deal with the second...

...and Jakob (with Reina's assistance) takes down the last.

...as Reina begins the battle against these Paladins that snuck up from behind us. She weakens the first...

I did some castle battles, but, unfortunately, the last half of the pictures were lost. Blasted Imgur...oh, well. Time for the obligatory plot!

"Oh, nearly everyone in Notre Sagesse recognizes the Yato. A few years ago, the Rainbow Sage came down from the mountain and summoned a statue of the Yato (I'm surprised you didn't notice it) and told us that that blade's destined wielder had best visit him. I might as well follow his wishes."

"That is where the Rainbow Sage dwells. Don't worry about getting up, there's a path to the top."

"Why doesn't he get more visitors, if it's so easy to get up?"

"His door is usually locked."

"Ah."

Battle (Part 1):

To start us off, Sakura pairs up with Hayato, who enters the right stairs...

...and baits out the unpromoted enemies.

Meanwhile, the rest of our army prepare to charge through to assist him.

Hayato does pretty good.

With some ferrying from Silas, Oboro picks off the second Diviner (who Hayato missed) and gets a level.

Very nice!

Hinata and Hayato team up on the General, while the rest of us prepare to prepare to go through the stairs.

Oh, yeah; Nyx shows up. I'm not even going to bother recruiting her.

I will, however, bother to recruit Shura.

"Hmm; an outlaw..."

"Yeah, what's it to you?"

"Nah...though that isn't a bad idea. I'm here to request the Sage's power."

"You mean Kotaro? We killed him."

"...Well, that makes everything easier."

"Care to have an extra thief?"

"It can't hurt, especially since we didin't bring anyone to crack open these chests."

"Heh...I'm the right guy for the job."

Next, Michele weakens and strips this nearby Oni Savage.

After an uneventful round, Hinata storms through the stairs and charges at the Spear Fighter.

Enemies are picked off...

...levels are gotten...

...and treasure is nabbed.

Benny defeats the Diviner, with a little help from Silas.

Very nice! I can see why Michele wants to marry you...

Also, Hinata picks on a poor, helpless, illusory Shrine Maiden.

Battle (Part 2):

After killing his fellow bow-wielder and dodging a hit from the Fighter, Shura ducks back down the stairs...

...for Benny to climb up them and halve said Fighter's HP.

He gets rid of the other half on the enemy phase.

Benny baits the General, while Hayato (and others) prepare to help deal with them.

Having realized that Benny is unable to damage him, I have Michele weaken the General...

...for Hayato to pick off, hitting the level cap.

Eh...

Oh no Michele is in archer range what do I dooooo

Thankfully, Silas is at hand.

Also Oboro, but that's neither here nor there, nor anywhere.

Nor with a fox, nor in a box, nor with a mouse, nor in a house...

Silas does his job well.

The weakened Illusions are taken down by the rest of our army, while Hayato promotes.

He'll be going Basara, to get Rend Heaven and capitalize on his OK Strength.

Shura also goes through the stairs to the other chest room and kills this Diviner.

In addition, Benny and Michele go up the stairs to the final room and prepare to deal with the Cavaliers.

Basic summary: Benny is unharmed, Cavaliers takes sufficient damage, Benny gets good level.

And then...bull rush!

Level!

Hayato effortlessly murders the second General...

...and Elise gets a healing level.

FInally, Shura nabs the Spear and promptly dies.

The rest of us clear out the survivors, seize...

...and finish the battle.

Since you seem intent on pairing Hayato and Sakura, I wonder what you're going to do about Rhajat's skill... Her (Rhajat's) dismal 10% base growth kills any chance of having it be even semi-decent.
