Conquest Chapter 20 was a difficult, but interesting (and most importantly, fun) tactical challenge that allowed you to use the Dragon Veins to your advantage in various ways. Here? You get a long, hard slog to the boss in which the winds, rather than being either an asset or a hindrance, are nothing more than a nuisance. Oh well...I already suffered through it. How shall I say...some of them escaped." "I suspect it's some sort of portal to another world." "Then its inhabitants may be in danger! Jakob, gather Sakura and Mozu, and...Hayato, too. Just to rub it in... Sakura Pairs Up with Hayato (I plan to eventually marry them), who brings an Oni Savage down to one HP. Jakob takes him out. I put Michele in enemy range, forgetting that she didn't have a weapon equipped. Nothing else happens on the enemy phase, and Fredrick almost kills this Spear Fighter. Mozu picks him off... ...and Hayato kills his friend. Gaining a mediocre level out of it. Next turn, the Ninjas show up. Mozu kills one... ...as does Jakob, with Michele's support. Hayato weakens one more Ninja, which Chrom kills. Fredrick kills the boss on his turn. Blast it, Freddy! Even while not in Awakening, you're still an EXP thief. More Ninjas show up, more Ninjas die. Sideways, this time! Basically, the same thing happens as last time, except sideways. Siiiidewaaays Sorry about all this. There, ride-sight-up again for the end of the level! Fuga's Revelation chapter is particularly annoying, because in Conquest, you have plenty of opportunity to have multiple fliers, without even taking reclassing into account. In Rev, you have pretty much just Subaki, who isn't that great. I don't know if you even have access to any Heart Seals by then in Revelation. To be honest, if he had higher Strength and Defense growths/bases to make up for his lower Speed, he'd be somewhat viable, but instead, he had a focus on...Skill. My main two reasons I find CQ-21 more fun and better designed than RV-9 are A) assuming you haven't lost anyone/aren't doing an Ironman, you'll have at least 6 Dragon Vein users, and more if you recruit some children. In Revelation, you only have 3, 2 of which are squishy noncombatants. B) By Chapter 20, you've likely settled down with the main Gen 1 units you'll use for the remainder of the game, while in RV-9, you're probably just using hopefuls. You do, in fact, have access to Heart Seals at this point. You can get one from the Stave Shop, one from the Rod Shop, and a potentially infinite amount from Rank 3 versions of those in other MyCastles. The problem with Kaze is that Ninjas as combat units are all but invalidated by Dread Fighter Mozu, and that Saizo and Kagero are far better choices for Locktouch support. Well, it's a bit too late to put him back on the team, now... If I may be honest, for all the hype all of the ninjas get, I tend to be unimpressed by them. Kaze is fast, but if his strength can't keep up... Saizo is more durable, but not as fast, and oddly enough, tends to take magic poorly. Kagero is strong, but tends to have pretty bad skill. Anyway, for a map that was given out as free DLC, I find Before Awakening to be high on bullshit. Poison Lunge chain ninjas? Ugh. Mozu breaks some ice, revealing a Mercenary. He is shortly dealt with, getting Hana a level. Hana, you need to do better than this if you want compete with Hinata. Rinkah reveals a Cavalier, and Michele moves up to take his attacks. Rinkah easily takes him out next round, also getting a level. Breaking News: Rinkah Still Mediocre! More ice is broken, with no results yet again. Michele breaks a chunk, unleashing several more enemies. They are promptly dogpiled. Sakura heals Rinkah to the perfect amount of health. Mozu breaks some more ice, revealing another Mercenary, which she helps Hayato bring to one HP... ...for Hana to kill. Next turn, Mozu breaks yet more ice, revealing a Cavalier that Michele weakens. Hayato breaks some more ice- ...uh... ...Hana defeats the Knight. Pretty good. Michele's doing...not so great... ... Gunter, you're fired. That's a Mercenary, by the way. He is dealt with promptly. Ornithomimus, Hana, that's worse than last time! More ice is broken, to no avail. Even more ice is broken, to some avail. Hayato defeats one Nohrian... See, Hana? This is how you get a good level from killing Mercenaries! Rinkah then defeats the Cavalier, with a little help from Hayato. Rinkah, are you trying to make me regret using you?! The Knight damages Hana quite a bit, and she retaliates by killing him (after some healing from Sakura). More ice-breaking... Mozu reveals these guys. Hayato deals with the Knight... ...as Michele reveals another one. The Fighter is killed on the enemy phase, and the Knight is weakened... ...for Hana to pick off the kill. Hey, she got an actually decent level! Yet another Knight is revealed. He and Rinkah significantly damage each other, and...I assume Hana took the kill; I didn't take a picture of it. More ice gets broke, dude. (Why did I say that) Hayato kills one formerly hidden Mercenary... ...and Hana weakens another. Rinkah braves the odds and picks him off. After some more ice-breaking, a Cavalier is released. He is shortly dealt with. Sakura gets a healing level. What do you have against Magic? More Cavaliers are revealed and defeated. Defensive positioning! More Cav-Killing! More decent Hana levels! Break ice, kill enemies, gain level, repeat. WOW lot's of enemies right there. However, I have confidence in my units; they should be OK- ... ...! ... ... "...Lady Michele...should we begin our attack on Zola?" (Sakura crying) "...break all the ice. Kill all of Zola's men."
