Jayvee94
Swordmasters are virtually guaranteed. Halberdiers are improbable at this point, you can just have an infantry unit use a lance. For Bishops, priests aren't revealed yet. So far, every Faith focused class revealed also focused on Reason. Druids, if dark mage promotes into them it'll probably be male exclusive Vanguard. With mercenaries probably intermediate, They gonna have to choose between Hero and Vanguard for the NAME of the master class. Ballistician, this would be tricky. Probably season pass. Corrobin
Do you think we'll have mounted archer and mage classes (like Bow Knight, Mage Knight, Troubadour, Valkyrie, etc.)?

While we can make those classes, we can only count the classes by the number of "class skills". The chance of Bow Knights (Bow, Riding) getting it's own skill is reduced unless they decided to give an upgraded version of it along with Paladin and Great Knight. If they indeed decide to include Bow Knight, Great Knight will be a lot less likely Troubadour (Faith, Riding), Mage Knight (Reason, Sword), and Valkyrie (Faith, Reason) may be lumped into a "Class Tree". The advanced classes may potentially break the game, so I can see that it may only be available close to the end of Act 1 or early Act 2 despite Troubadour being available at Level 5. LSM
Something interesting I just noticed about this image: If you look at the icons, Marianne is equipped with a Faith tome, and Lysithea with Reason (the diamond). I think a lot of us had assumed that Faith would be Light magic plus Healing staves, and Reason would be Dark magic, Anima magic, and Cursing staves rolled together. But Lysithea healed Hilda. So... Reason tomes have healing too? That's interesting.

That tome seems to specifically be the Dark magic one rather than Anima Magic one, which seems to be represented by the Black Book, so maybe Dark Magic has some kind of sacrifice skill like Micaiah's? I'm sure that Reason and Faith will parallel each other so maybe they both have healing AND damage but different forms of each.
User name
I think its beacuse Lysithea's second highest weapon level is Faith, and she knows the healing spell. Edited May 23, 2019 by User name

She could also have both, with what appears as equipped being the last combat spell you used; in her case a reason-based one. It's very rare for staves to remain equipped on the character after all, healing magic could work the same. For what it's worth, we don't see it very well, but, her light grey cape makes me think of some sort of holy class on this shot: Apparently she's not greyed out as a result of consuming her turn already either, as her lifebar would be darker and the light blue circle on the ground would have disappeared. Starzilla
I'm happy dark mage and brigand are returning. I've always had a weakness for dark classes and brigands/pirates. If I could pick any class to return I'd probably pick freelancer (cause I think it's neat), but I doubt it'll come back. I also hope that characters will have/eventually have access to a wide range of soldiers. I'd like to put a mage on the front lines backed up by knights. HappyHawlucha. Forgive my class names my resources got a bit dwindled towards the end. I really not convinced this game would go all the way to master class. T3 classes in RD existed mostly due to how much of the cast starts as pre premotes (which makes sense due to it being a sequel and all) and in SoV just took the class tree from the original. And if your choice of house matters as much as they let on, i.e. a largely exclusive map pool, then I would virtually guarantee this game will be on the shorter side, at least in terms of a single play through. Azz
I feel like class tiers will be: Commoner/Noble->Beginner Classes (Lv. 5)->Intermediate Classes (Lv. 10)->Advanced Classes (Lv. 15/20) I feel like the level cap may be raised to 30 since levels don't reset after class changing so that's why I feel like 20 will be the promo level for advanced classes, if the level cap is only 20 however than, level 15 for advanced classes. If there are master classes in the game, I feel like they will be dlc like overclasses in SoV.
Calico
If the level cap doesn't reset at all upon promotion to the higher-tier classes, then I'd expect a level cap of 40 or above, nothing lower. Like with Azura and Felica/Jakob in Fates.
Azz
Yeah that makes sense, I was mainly thinking in the sense of Genealogy with how the level cap there was 30 but 40 would work too (especially if there is reclassing, which we know there is)
HappyHawlucha.
I could see a 4 or 5 tier class system in the event where different levels unlock more classes in the same tier. Beginner Classes(Lv 5) Intermediate Classes(Lv 10 and Lv 15) Advanced Classes(Lv 20 and Lv 25) Master Classes(Lv 30Â and Lv 35) With a level cap at either 30 without Master Classes being a thing or 40 with Master Classes, depending on the length of the game. vanguard333
Well, thanks to the latest Famitsu, more intermediate classes have been confirmed: Lord: Unique to Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude. Prioritizes Sword and Authority. A bit ironic as none of the lords prefer swords as their main weapon in this one. It comes with the skill charisma: all adjacent allies deal 3 more damage. Thief: It seems to favour swords and bows. It comes with the typical locktouch, but also, good news for those of you who are fans of Tellius thieves, steal is back! It's restricted to stealing non-weapon items from enemy units, but it's back. Knight: Prioritizes lances, axes and heavy armour. No known class skills. Pegasus Knight: It's back, and it's female-only. It prioritizes swords, lances and flying, and it comes with canto and avoid +10. Archer: It prioritizes bows and swords. It also comes with Bow Range + 1. Priest: Prioritizes reason and faith magic. It comes with the class skills heal and white magic recovery + 5. I must say, in terms of the designs of these classes, I have strongly mixed feelings: I really like the look of the lord class for all three characters and I like the priest outfit. The Pegasus Knight outfit is fine overall, though the design of the shoulderpads makes it look like the girl can't lift her arms without cutting her neck. I like the knight outfit: no more dong armour, and there's armour protecting the front of the upper legs. My one criticism would be that I'm not sure about the design of the shield. However, I don't like the archer design. I've never been a fan of leather armour, and it does not look good here either. Why not give us something like these? (Images in the spoiler tag below) Spoiler  As for the thief, I'm not a fan of the torn robe, I'm not a fan of all the fur stuffing, and I'm not a fan of that really weird design where one leg is entirely exposed except for a couple of leather bands. It doesn't look like a thief to me; it looks like someone tore their dress, wrapped a bunch of belts around their legs, and decided to stuff their gloves with fur because the gloves were too big. It just looks weird.
HappyHawlucha.
It doesn't matter what Archers look like, they get Close Counter as a Professor Skill and Range +1 from Archer, they're gonna be good boyos.

It appears that the Authority proficiency will stay with the Lords and it's "promotions". Additional weapons are given to intermediate classes which would otherwise have only one. Reason users also use Faith. I still got hopes for the following classes: War Mage/Mage Fighter (Reason, Faith, Sword) Mage Knight (Reason, Faith, Sword, Lance, Riding) Baron (Reason, Faith, Lance, Axe, Heavy Armor) Mage Flier (Reason, Faith, Sword, Lance, Flying)
