Which FE would make the most interesting Mirror Universe?

So, as defined by TVTropes (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MirrorUniverse) a "mirror universe" is an alternate reality where the morality of the characters are inverted - the go-to example is Star Trek and its alternate universe where the Federation is a tyrannical Empire. Given the introduction of Outrealm Gates and other world-hopping means, there are bound to be evil versions of noble heroes and good versions of dastardly villians.

Now, of the games I've played, Blazing Blade seems to have the most ground to explore, primarily because the Black Fang as a group of assassins would play very differently to the standard "lord and his army" set up. Maybe the Mad Marquess of Pherae desires to kill all dragons still living in Elibe? I dunno.

Tellius would be very interesting to see... mostly since just the thought of seeing the Begnion Senators as the good guys is just so hilarious to imagine to me...

No matter what the morality of the universe is, Oliver will always be a champion of beauty.

I'll vouch for flipping Archanea, to be precise, a very alternate version of Mystery.

Medeus wakes in the darkness, laying on the hard, cold floor of the Dragon's Table, his naked body is covered in scars, it aches with awful pains. His head is a quagmire of hate and painful confusion and delusion. Memories flash by of his recent slaying by a blue haired prince, the descendant of Anri and just like him, that blindingly glimmering blade made of that lying defeatist Naga's fang in his hands, it feels like, and for a dragon who lives so long, was only yesterday to him.

A voice then resounds through the vast chamber, it is Gharnef's. Speaking as if he acknowledges Medeus as his master, Gharnef tells Medeus to wait, he brought him back after his own resurrection, but he is very weak, he will go and bring the sustenance he needs to him. Once he has it, then he will have the strength to devour the world once more. The voice stops, leaving at Medeus's feet a purple robe with which to cover his bare flesh.

Medeus crawls momentarily, and then stands and collects his bearings. He knows where he is, for he sees around him, all looking at him, are his fellow dragons, all feral. In him, they place they hope, their future, their desire to see humanity undone and Dragonkind returned. He lacks the strength to as much as transform, simply walking is a chore at the moment, and that in such a place conducive to draconic power. Gharnef told him to wait, but he knows better. He spoke as a servant, but he acts as a master. However Gharnef may strengthen him, it will be done such that the strengthening will put him forever into the Dark Pontifex's shackles. Gharnef is the worst in man, to be alive but his slave is no better than to die forever to the self-righteous Anri. Although it burdens his very bones, he will leave the Dragon's Table, alone for his feral kind lack the mental fortitude to travel with purpose far, and do what must be done.

Faced with impossible odds- Altea led by that vile prince, Archanea under the control of Gharnef's new pawn Hardin, and the rest of the continent in shambles including his Dolhr, how will Medeus rise up and restore the rule and sanity of Dragonkind? He must act fast, before Gharnef reduces to his pet for eternity and before Gotoh and Marth catch wind of his return and brandish the Falchion upon him once more.

...Not sure if there is anyone out there who would be willing to support Medeus. Sounds like this would make for a poor FE game therefore; but as a beat 'em up? The Shadow Dragon Rises™ might have potential. Harness with Medeus the power of Fire, Ice, Mage, Wyvern (Wind), Water (those SoV Dagons are hereby Archanean canon), Earth, and Shadow! Nintendo's new nitty-gritty realism antihero(?).

*For X price, you can buy the Alterworld DLC. Completion of this unlocks the Astral Stone for Medeus, letting him use the power of the dragons that pervade the multiverse in a new moveset.

I could see Mannu team up with Medeus, provided he's retconned to surviving his battle with Marth in the first game, which is absolutely possible as his kingdom is never again referenced afterwards (which is super odd now that I think about it). Maybe a wandering Siris would agree to help him, along with the heirs to Grust, if they meet Medeus before Marth and Medeus offers a real chance of rescuing Nyna (who eh...might rather be eaten by a great big Shadow Dragon is Hardin's love for her was corrupted along with everything else. There's a pleasant thought). How exactly Medeus would regain his power without relying on Gharnef's maiden plan is another question. Perhaps a trip down Anri's Way to gain something from the Ice Temple, where he could meet Xane and also convince him to his side (as Xane's opinion of humans is actually rather low, another war, caused by Hardin and Gharnef, Medeus showing up at the right time suggesting his plans in a slightly more rationale light, Xane might go for it).

His beauty is the true radiance the games are named after.

I'll cast an affirmative action vote for Sacred Stones even though the main antagonist of the game is basically the devil. I mean if you're going to do something like "invert the morality of characters" then you might as well go all the way. Besides, that game also has really popular villains.

Well, to be fair, I don't think it's a full flip, or even applied to everything. I really don't know much of Star Trek's Mirror Universe to tell, but even there I would think not everything was fully flipped.

A MU!SS could still have the Demon King as... well, the Demon King, but instead of Grado it's Renais... or even Rausten, the ones who want to gather the stones and break them.

That'd be kinda neat. Having L'Arachel as a boss would be pretty hilarious. Assuming you keep most of the same dynamics/allegiances, you'd get weird but neat stuff like Orson betraying his previous side to join you, or Selena being the most evil of the recruitable characters, aside from Duessel who defects. Mostly though I'd just be interested to see how Valter and Caellach would turn out.

I would say that Gaiden/Shadows of Valentia would make for the most interesting mirror universe (and alternative universe in general, but that's a different topic), since there are several different ways that a single character could be good or evil, to what extent, and how it would affect the rest of the plot. In many cases quite drastically.

For instance, if King Lima IV was a morally good king, he would have provided Rigel with food during their famine. However, he might not of asked for Conrad's mother as payment, instead remaining loyal to his original spouse, thus meaning that Conrad (or heck, maybe not even Celica) wouldn't be part of the story. Or at least, not as Zofian royals.

Similarly, Mila would be the one suffering from degeneration, while Duma is only just starting to feel the effects. Thus, we would see him internally debating and struggling with the decision of whether to spare his sister, and let her maddened-self damage Zofia, or to kill her with Falchion, knowing full well that there are several repercussions and consequences for such a action, and that it makes it painfully clear that he too will go mad and will need to be put down someday.

And this isn't even going in detail whether he's keeping this knowledge only to himself, whether he would share this information in secret with a few trusted persons, or if it's public knowledge and the everyone is seeing what decision Duma makes. And whether if he alone takes action to kill/spare Mila, leaving the world at large to question his choice (or what the heck he was doing in the first place). If, like Rudolf's plan in the game proper, several events take place that have good reason for taking place at face value, but actually have a greater purpose they're leading up to, or if he outright tries to conquer Zofia so the nation will still have a god in place after Mila is gone.

And would Duma try, for better or worse, to learn about Mila's ideas and values so her teachings don't go to waste, or would he take the opportunity to preach and enforce his "Hardship builds character" beliefs in full force? Or would he undergo character development and see that both are important?

And this is only with two characters.

...IS still has plans with DLC for SoV, right?

It would be interesting for Jugdral. Having the Lopt Empire be this golden age torn down by rebels, have their splintered kingdoms fight wars all the time, and then have this kindly version of Manfroy decide to try and make the world sane again. By uniting Arvis and Dierdre (willingly in this) they have Julius and Julia. Before that, though, the Lopt had to rescue her from the barbaric Sigurd of Chalphy, who captured her during Jungby's invasion of Verdane. After driving Sigurd out of Agustria and into the frozen, lawless wasteland of Silesse, Arvis must repel his sudden invasion into the various city-states of Grannvale. Sigurd is ambushed, but before his execution, he tells Arvis that his son Seliph will bloody the continent again.

Seliph rises in Isaach, and enlists the help of Princess Julia, the evil bearer of the Light Dragon Naga, the vain Dragon Goddess who forced down Loptyr's Imperious domain centuries before. While his warpath carved out most of Eastern Jugdral, he was stopped just short of his goal. In a desperate bid to prevent another defeat, Manfroy and Arvis are forced to kill Julia. Enraged, Seliph murders a priest who held his father's sword and kills Arvis with it. Julius knows that he cannot beat Seliph alone. Manfroy then uses a forbidden ritual to raise 12 brave warriors from death to save Grannvale. Seliph almost kills Julius, but then he is saved by the warriors and Queen Ishtar, Julius' beloved. Prince Arion of Thracia manages to sway Altenna of Manster to defect, allowing his army to rout what was left of Seliph's war machine.

Playing as Plegia in a mirrored Awakening would be good. You've already got the established background of how tyrannical Chrom's father seemed to be regarding it so why not spin that as part of the story? Or perhaps Walhart's the protagonist. There's multiple options so it covers a nice bit of ground for what could be done.

FE6 would be cool.

Pherae, a small alliance of small lords, trying to bring dragons back, while the nice and friendly king Zephiel tries to stop it with the help of his loyal servants Narcian, Galle, Murdock, Brunnya and...uh...Idoun, somehow ?

Also Guinivere in a mirror universe would be sick as hell. Same for Eric, somehow.

Idoun is a completly neutral force that only obeys her master's orders, so she'd probably be working for Roy.

I want to see one in Binding Blade where the dragons and the Bernians lost in the war from the original story, and become divided into two administrations by the capitalist Lycia/Etruria, and the Communist Sacae/Ilia. And that a new rebel leader rise up against the puppet government led by Guinevere, to liberate the country before the nation is laid to waste by exploitation.

FE5 where Leif is trying to take over the Freeges instead of just doing whatever he does in Thracia 776. Come on, I do not know what Leif is doing, because most of the time he's fleeing from Manster/Freege/Lopto Church.
