Chapter 6: Not a fun chapter at all.... There was just way to many enemies that ran at you and I had a lot of resets at just the start of the level, and the enemy cavalier with a silver lance was a prime contributor in that since he 1 shot gordin and hardin from full hp with that lance and with his movement range it was hard to avoid him.

Speaking of Hardin check out his stats as a Myrmidon, its definitely not an ideal class in this game but he definitely is a lot better than swordsman gordin who is still trying to get out of e rank swords. I tempted to promote him with the first master seal but then I get no healers for even longer and I don't want that...

Also next to that you can see his first level up so he is off to a good start despite being a myrmidon.

Any ways I finally found a way to kill the first wave but it involved save scumming with the save point until the enemies lined up in a certain position to kill enough and block them off with Marth and Jagen who are the only people in my squad that can take a hit.

I didn't even bother getting ricard and used a master key charge on that chest and ran jagen up quickly to stop those thieves from getting away while blocking off the 2 archers up there. We let the killing edge get away which is kind of a shame since we have 2 myrmidons but we got the physic (which is gonna sit in the convoy for a long while) and the seraph robe which i am in serious need of, we also got an armor slayer which is really nice because we are gonna need that as well.

after clearing out those guys the bottom part of the map was a disaster because we had no way of healing whatsover.... like no thrones or forts on the map besides the boss chamber. The only way I could beat this part was with save scumming with the 2cnd save tile and playing really aggressive towards the enemies. For the knight and 2 archers that are right outside the boss room i had to rig an excalibur crit on one of the archers or else we could not kill them all and then for the boss room I had to rig Jagen dodging an archer shot. Once I finally was able to rig that stuff by constantly going back on my saves we finally cleared everything out and we were all left with low hp in front of the boss, how cinematic...

Man what a difficult chapter... This one is one of the easier ones when you play normally as well so it was rough to see it turn out this way. Marth is my best unit right now besides Jagen, which should tell you how worthless my team is right now. On the bright side the lack of other units has allowed marth to get alot of exp so his strength and physical bulk is actually pretty decent.

Chapter 7: This level was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be as the cavalier spam was easy to deal with by blocking the forts and killing them with forged rapier and ridersbane. The real issue for me was those 2 knights with javelins because aggroing them while the cavs were spawning was a death sentence because we couldn't just 2 range them.

As stated the first part was easy because merric can 1 hit the draco and peg knights with excalibur. After dealing with them I just ran down and didn't bother with that right side or bantu because we don't need him, but before that I made minerva eat an excalibur to the face right before she and the whitwings left just to get a bunch of exp, it was definitely worth the one use.

Spoiler

5c784cc415ef3_nothingpersonal.....png.be6d9d09113757bb5c560c9d5b4a0422.png

Also I forgot to mention that I gave the seraph robe to Jagen. Despite Jagens tendency to fall off soon I still think it will be put to good use and while it may be better on Minerva when I get her later I'm not sure I can survive those chapter without someone who can eat hits until then. Also Jagen is still a really good unit and has carried me really hard through this early game segment, so anything that can extend his viability time while my weak units (especially the myrmidons) get some levels will be much appreciated.

Spoiler

5c784dee6e415_dontjudgeme....png.72730e513c87247ee7cdfce4e067f1ba.png

The bottom part took me a few resets because those armor knights are positioned in a spot where if i run off the first fort and kill the jav cav they will walk over which is really troublesome, finally after the turn of breathing room I positioned a weaker unit behind the fort so the jav cav would run up adjacent to the fort to attack the man behind, and after switching out those people to conserve hp I had Jagen run to the right side to block that fort and I was able to block enough forts and killed the remaining cavs until they stopped spawning. I wanted to finish the chapter earlier but those pesky armor knights stopped me from advancing so I had to sit around for a while and kill cavs.

Spoiler

5c784e0d8bf50_chapter7strat.png.0e80a241fef0539284a6a6df91be5f6c.png

After the cavs stopped the knights were no issue, but there placement made it difficult for me to have breathing room while dealing with the reinforcments so they were definitely the biggest threats in this level.

Then we got to the boss and I got Gordin to d rank in swords by having him beat up a curate.

Spoiler

5c78504ad65c3_gordindswordrank.png.cbbb75fb32bf4d5a27327c5f8ed0bc39.png

Meanwhile Draug and Gordin roasted the boss with a little help from Jagen to save time and I was able to complete the chapter. Draug also leveled speed again which was really nice.

Marth's forged rapier is about to break which is sad because he did so much with it in the past chapters, on the bright side I am pretty sure I get to buy another rapier in the next chapter so I don't think it is going to be a big deal.

Also I decided that I'm going to promote Merric first for healing so Draug has time to develop his speed some more. Since Merric has Excalibur his stats are not as important and he can survive with an early promotion.

Chapter 8: This chapter was very easy because I just ran for the throne. If I had waited any longer I would of been swarmed by reinforcements and would of been in trouble, and while I could of got a lot more exp I didn't think my small team with no healers would of been worth the trouble.

I did get Caeda this chapter so I could recruit Roger but I didn't have any weapons on her so I wouldn't be tempted to cheat. Also to anyone who remembers let me just say that her convo with roger is actually really funny and I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

I forged an armorslayer for this chapter just so we could get through the knights and rush to the boss but I forgot that Hardin and Gordin don't have a C rank in swords yet so I had to give it to jagen which isn't a problem, but I just wanted to give more levels to my swordsmen.

And the rest is pretty self explanatory because I just ran for the throne and I completed the level very quickly.

Chapter 9: This was quite the chapter I must say, Ive never thought much about this chapter because the pirate reinforcements are kind of annoying and the chapter is pretty much filler as you stop by on a random island and the Manakete kind tries to kill you because you trespassed in his kingdom.

As for the chapter itself It started out pretty well and I just expected a nice quick walk to the throne because I didn't need Jeorge. But then after my phase on turn 6 the reinforcements started and I had to kite back and try to tank them all but they kept coming and I had no healing so it didn't work out the way I had hoped.... The picture below should tell you enough.

I didn't want to speed run it to the throne because I wanted a lot more exp but I there is no way I can take on all those pirates without healing and more guys so it didn't happen. I just ran straight down to the throne killing everyone in the way as fast as possible. Roger was actually really helpful because his class allowed him to go on water and he baited some pirates off to the side to give us less to deal with, I then had him get the chests in the middle with the master key and I had Merric Excalibur the boss for 2 turns and then Marth seized it right has the second wave of reinforcements were about to come. We missed out on the wyrmslayer but it was in the bottom right corner and there is no way i was going all the way down there.

Next chapter I not only get Minerva but I get my first master seal which means I can actually heal my guys. 10 chapters without healing was pretty painful but I must say that these maps were pretty interesting and I had fun completing them in ways I had never done before.

Chapter 10: I had so much trouble on this chapter. This is where the lack of healers really began to kick my butt because those reinforcements Minerva brings in through the top right corner are brutal and they come as early as turn 6. And with the Dracoknights and cavs that are already on the map that run at you my small force just couldn't clear them and the fort out before they got to us.

Spoiler

5c89a44126b51_chapter10readytoroll.png.a5fe5c881044032ef30ed0e73ad9a6fe.png

There was only one thing that I could think of, and that was getting the master seal from the hero right above the north entrance to the fort, promote merric, and heal my frontline units while choking the reinforcements off.

So I ran around the west side of the fort to avoid being bogged down by all the forces inside and I had stop by the shop and by a bunch of vulneraries for my crew who were all wounded from the cavs and fliers, but the reinforcements we out and were catching up really fast since they are all cavalry and horsemen minus 2 knights. Luckily there is a save point up there because this is where the trial and error really came in, because my 2 mages + Roger only have 6 move where as the all the cavs have 9, atleast Marth and the myrmidons have 7 move so they weren't caught up to that fast. I just couldn't get through that ledge fast enough and I had to start the level over a few times just to get through the initial enemies faster, I couldn't have Jagen choke them out sadly because he was only 1 point of speed away from not being doubled by the horsemen.

Spoiler

5c89a43684fe8_chapter10nonworkingstrats.png.b6b14addc7ba46aec098d271708214bd.png

I finally found a strat that worked by putting Jagen in a position that made the ai do stupid stuff and made Jagen live with litteraly 1 hp blocking off all of the cavs while everyone else bait & switched the hero to get the master seal. That seraph robe I put on Jagen a few chapters earlier really came in handy I must say.

With the Cavs occupied  I was able to storm in the north fort entrance and recruit maria so I could get Minerva to stop sending in more enemies, but she had just gotten the second wave out and the horsemen were coming over the ledges for me while the rest were moving around the fort again. By that point the only one healthy enough to choke the enemy force was marth but Minerva moved in first to recruit herself and screwed everything up.

Spoiler

minerva ruining my chapter 10 experience.png

The only way to not lost anyone was have Merric get a lucky excalibur crit  on enemy phase to a horsemen since they double him and hardin ate one cav attack. After we cleared out the horsemen which was the only ranged threat and promoted Merric I just took marias heal staff since we cant use her and had merric and minerva choke the rest of them out to work on her lance rank, she also got a great first level up so we are off the a great start with her.

After that I had roger beat up a cleric to get some exp since he did nothing this chapter and Marth ran around and got the chest in the fort with some help dealing with the guards. The turn count got inflated this level but I had no idea how else to do it.

Shout out to @Eltosian Kadath for giving me Minerva because I was really losing brain cells playing this chapter with my squad, and once I actually got to use her to help me finish the level some of my sanity was restored.

Overall a very frustrating level, man this took a long time to figure out.

Chapter 11: Pretty easy chapter, I just had to play a bit slow with the ballisticians and the sniper with a killer bow right behind one of them.

I sent Minerva to the market over the mountains with vulneraries to train her lance rank/choke out 4 mercs and she successfully got her lance rank to C this chapter because of it, which means she gets to use the ridersbane for future chapters which will be very useful. While she did that the rest of the crew ran around to the market to kill the thief and finish off the mercs and then we got Linde.

I was able to feed roger a couple kills despite them being mercenaries  because Roger wasn't able to do anything for previous chapters.

The rest was simple, we just baited all the cavs to the forts and then we killed the Ballisticians (including jake) in which Marth leveled res! It's actually really rare for him to do that because his res growth is 2% and while that isnt going to really do anything for him it's cool to see regardless.

After clearing out everything but the boss I baited him with Hardin, which is the only unit who doesn't get doubled by him because he is a manakete, we just ganged up on him and I had Linde kill him with aura.

Chapter 12: Had to play this one pretty slow because Marth had a lot of chests to open and had to run the gauntlet, mix this with a lot of reinforcements from behind and you have a 38 turn clear. I went straight for Dolph at first because I wanted to give him as much experience as possible in the chapter but we got sandwiched by the random named paladin and the reinforcements and we got suck in jail area which screwed us over because I only have 1 healer. Also linde got magic and speed in a level up and honestly those are the only 2 stats im asking for.

Also I'm again so thankful for Minerva she can 1 hit the mages with her axe, which prevents me from taking 20 damage from there elfires.

Since going straight to the prison didn't work I went south to kill the paladin and the two cavs asap so I didn't get sandwiched and then waited for each wave of 2 enemies to show up and killed them on player phase, I got some good exp for my weaker guys thankfully for this. We did this until the reinforcements stopped and then  we rescued Dolph and got all the treasure which took a lot of time because Marth had to run everywhere.

While Marth was running the gauntlet I had Dolph kill the two healers by the boss to give him some exp and then I had Gordin last hit the boss and hit level 10 only to get a blank level up which is his second one this playthrough. I think I am gonna promote him now because hes not getting any good stats and I need him to be more useful.

As for Dolph he is pretty terrible, but I at least get C rank lances to work with so I can forge him a riders bane later to get him some levels.

Chapter 13: Straight forward chapter, nothing really of not happened here but I'll share what I can, do know that I have never been really good at this chapter and I mostly just slowly push up with beck until last group of ballisticians in which I just bum rush them, but I have to say I'm really glad I got Beck because this chapter would of been way more difficult without him.

I promoted Gordin for this chapter because he just wasn't getting stats and since @DarthR0xas allowed me to use him as palladin or dracoknight I get a better unit out of the deal which im thankfull for, and 10 speed may be pretty laughable having 10 move is really useful and he almost has access to wrymslaying and armorslaying which I can thank his time as a myrmidon for. His stats are below.

Anyways as I said the level was straight forward I sent gordin south by himself because there is a spot in which all three of those ballistae cant hit him so I had him steel sword all of them to death.

Sent Hardin and Gordin north and they took out the top ballistae pretty easily and the rest of the force went through the middle. Once I got Beck he sniped out the ballistae and as stated before we bum rushed the boss group with all my high move units, luckily there was only 1 arrowspate user so Minerva could help out for that last part. Pretty easy map overall, but man I just can't get over the fact that I always complete this chapter so slowly, I really want to figure out a way to do it fast without cheesing with warp.

Chapter 14: This chapter went pretty well but I could of played a lot more efficiently which I will get to in a little bit. But to start off I was more cautious with my planning this chapter because I remember the Gra level having lots of pegasus knights come as reinforcements so I wanted to clear out the units ASAP so I could have room to deal with them all. So I gave Minerva both the boots and the speedwing because the boots bring her up to 12 move which allows to her to pretty much be wherever she wants and the speedwing brought her up to enough speed to double everything in the chapter except for the pegs since those enemies have 16 speed. With her stats she could 1 round cavalry and archers with her silver axe so I believe she was the best investment.

I started out pretty efficient and cleared out the ballista and the knights really fast mainly because I put Minerva into a spot where most of them suicided into her hammer to which she got an amazing level up which makes me even happier I gave her those stat boosters. Also I remembered that there was a bridge on this map so I was glad I remembered to buy a few bridge keys back in chapter 10 to save master key charges.

I then split my army a little bit to stop the thieves from getting the treasure and to kill the enemies in the middle courtyard to which Minervas movement allowed her to help out both teams by baiting and then going back and forth, she was definitely the MVP of this chapter by a mile. After we cleared the enemies out I ran everyone into fortress through the north eastern entrance in preparation for the pegs to come and we opened the door and set up Minerva with her hand axe to block. Meanwhile the peg sister recruited themselves and I just sent them into a corner since I'm not using them

The pegs came for a long time and I decided I might as well finish the chapter but then I realized I forgot about the village in the northwest that has Camus give you Thoron and I really wanted that tome so I ran Marth around the map avoiding the pegs to get the village and I had to tank through all of the pegs for something around 10 turns which on the brightside gives me a lot of experience and gives me a reasonable excuse to play slowly (arguable).

After a bunch of tanking and burning of heals and physics we killed all of the pegs and I had roger beat up a healer, part of the reason it took so long to kill all of them is I forgot about the fortify curate up by the archers so he kept using that until it broke which was annoying. But we finally chewed through them and killed that remaining archers as well as the boss.

Atleast during the the final kills against the archers Dolph semi-redeemed himself for getting a blank level up this chapter. Also the silver card was useful for getting more ridersbanes which will help us when we get to Altea, I also stocked up on pure waters since we got to Khadein next.

Chapter 15: Luckily I had bought pure waters for this chapter because I constantly had to switch out people to tank Imhullu until Gharnef finally left, this issue I had was the mage right behind him proved to be annoying until I realized Minerva could one shot him with the Hauteclare so I pure watered her before hand and she could actually tank Gharnef and barely survive a round against him. Honestly if I hadn't bought that pure water this would of been way harder so I'm glad it worked out.

Also I got tired of Roger being deadweight so I decided to take some risks and give him the devil axe and he was 2 damage off of 1 hitting mages with that thing so I decided to give him the energy drop so he could get some exp and have the perfect damage to actually kill people. It is risky and may cause some frustrating resets later but I'm up for it if it means he can kill people with ease.

Also I gave the spirit dust to Draug because he had good speed but low magic so it is helpful on him.

Meanwhile I moved the people who were not tanking Gharnef to the left to get to the fort before more mages show up in an attempt to block them but I screwed up and didn't get there in time and ended up having to fall back before getting sandwiched by the Dracoknights so the chapter ended up going slower than I had hoped but I guess that means more exp which isn't bad.

Finally Gharnef retreated and I moved Marth's little squad to get the treasure while defending him from the dracoknight reinforcements that kept coming until I got impatient and flew Minerva over to the fort. In the process Merric used his last Excalibur use on a Dracoknight and while it's early to run out of it I needed its MT and CRT for the early game so badly and while I could of left it at one use for the Hammerne I didn't get Lena anyways so it doesn't matter, but now that I'm thinking about it it probably would of been better to keep it at one use and put the starsphere on Merric with it later... Atleast I can just use that for Minerva's weapons so it isn't the biggest of deals.

Chapter 15 was completed in 30 turns.

Minerva was still top tier for this chapter but MVP has to go to Merric for not only keeping us healthy but mixed with the pure water he tanked, doubled, and killed lots of mages that spawned in the Gharnef room, also his ability to move through the desert allowed him to get to the dracokinghts that were very annoying and kill them with Excalibur when no one else could reach them, early promoting him was the best decision I made.

Now it's on to Altea.

Chapter 16: The left side was completely useless because I didn't get Arran or Samson so I just ran straight down, before that though I did a couple noteworthy things in the preps which include giving Gordin an arms scroll in preparation for not only this chapter, but the sable order chapter coming up. After that I switched him to a dracoknight for this chapter because the nice fellow who picked him allowed me to choose between the 2 classes.

I baited the Dracoknights with Minerva and then had my group rip into them, I then bated the horseman by the boss and had Dolph kill him using his forged javelin in which I had a turn to kill the fortify curate before the rest of the horseman got up there, Minerva just flew over to him and silver axed him in the face so that took care of him. Meanwhile we broke in and carefully took out the 2 heros in the cell with Xane. One of them had a forged levin sword so I had to be very cautious, and then we got Xane which is the last unit on the list for me to use.

After that the rest of the horsemen suicided into Dolph as I kept merric beside him healing so I got him some nice levels. (He even got speed which is funny, even though it's gonna take a lot more levels to make it relevant for him.) Pretty much as long as he gets hp and defense im fine because in indoor maps he can choke physical threaths quite easily with that kind of bulk, and if I can get him a few more levels and a promotion soon he may prove to be really helpful for the bridge map that's coming up really soon.

As you can see in the picture I turned Xane into Minerva because that is the obvious choice, and I don't think there will be much of a point of turning Xane into anyone else if I'm being honest, maybe Dolph on some levels if he turns out ok but until then Minerva is my best unit by far, but I do have plans for Jagen next chapter so we will see about that.

Anyways, my forces opened up the doors and we ran straight for the boss after cleaning up the cavs, in which Marth and Hardin leveled up giving me high hopes for them both, especially Hardin who is close to capping speed now, but you can't tell me this Marth level up isn't beautiful, especially for this games standards of growth rates.

Also rip those feuding villages in Altea, we didn't got out of our way to save them.

Chapter 17: Altea Castle has a lot of mages, so the first thing I did was switch Gordin back to a paladin to get him up to 6 res. After that I noticed how much the mages weighed themselves down with their tomes, after the calculations the majority of the enemy mages had something like 6 effective speed which is pretty awful for this point in the game, so I saw that Jagen had just enough STR to one round them with a Javelin and of course he doubles them, so I gave him a pure water and used the talisman on him.

Spoiler

The next issue was the Manaketes, these monsters had 24 effective speed, which is absurd for my team. It honestly makes me wish I promoted Hardin early or just leveled him up some more because not even he could escape the doubling range of those enemies. Everyone on my team would get bodied by the dragons and no one was able to not get doubled, so I did the unthinkable.

Shadow Dragon has a lot of terrible units, but the game gives you the resources to make any unit steamroll in certain chapters/areas, and Dolph, who is considered to be generally awful, is no exception to this, his levels in HP and DEF as a knight were put to good use, and those two stats are high enough to survive being doubled by Firestone Manaketes, they did 17 damage a hit.

If not for Dolph we would of had to player phase the Manaketes which is not fun if anyone misses as you can guess. We ran for the chests on the left as soon as we killed the first Manakete, we split up on the left killed the promoted hero as soon as we could, and had Dolph bait out the killer bow sniper as we got there, during that time I had Xane become Dolph and he baited the other Manakete. Marth than started slowly started opening chests (because I wanted to save my keys) while the rest of the army ran to the boss room to kill the sages and get the VIP card. The funny thing was Dolph actually doubled these mages, so I had him use a pure water and he baited the sage and the sniper

This is such a fun alternative around having low speed.

Once we broke in the reinforcements showed up, and boy I forgot how long they showed up because I was getting swamped while waiting for Marth to run all the way back to seize, in the mean time I had roger bait the knights to chuck javelins at the wall over at him, with him having a hand axe equipped, while the rest of my forces held off the cavs, this happened for some time. And Hardin finally capped his speed here, so there is really no point in waiting to promote him anymore if you ask me.

Merric then became unable to keep up with all the healing that needed to happen so we killed the boss with Dolph and flew Minerva to the secret shop to get a couple poleaxes for her and Roger knowing that the next chapter has a ton of cavalry, and then Marth seized before the large number of enemies could overrun us. Minerva had to sell a bunch of bows so we could actually have enough money to buy the stuff which was pretty funny, not like I need bows anyways.

Chapter 18: The bridge with lots of horses. I promoted Draug and Hardin with the 2 master seals we got, letting Draug now heal with merric, which is nice as well as giving Hardin some fine stats, he can double everything on the entire map now, including the horseman.

After that I gave Roger a secret book, to boost his hit rate just a little bit, and then gave the speedwing to Minerva, allowing her to double to paladins on the map where she couldn't before.

I had Xane become Dolph and we just ran those two down the bridge as far as they could go, cleaning them up with riders banes immediately after the generals tanked them. Dolph somehow got speed which was amusing, we then just pushed our way south at a fast pace. I had bought poleaxes and ridersbanes before hand so this chapter wasn't very hard, especially with beefy units like Dolph and Minerva.

I got Roger to finish off some people with the Poleaxe/Devil Axe as well and got him a few levels.

I didn't really have any money so I just ignored the shops and hit the south zone on the other side of the bridge, it was fun watching horsemen do 0 damage to Dolph on both attacks.

Once we got off the bridge we ran to the right as far as we could because some dangerous reinforcements show up over to the left forts. We then put Dolph on the fort middle fort as the rest of the forces cleaned up the enemies as well as the boss, which then came the reinforcements immediately after.

Chapter 20: The Camus level. For preps we gave some stat boosters to some deserving members as well as finally promoted Roger with the master seal I got last chapter. We gave Draug the spirit dust to help his low magic, Minerva the seraph robe so she could tank points Dolph couldn't reach, and the speedwings to Jagen so he could double the generals with his forged armor slayer. We also spent a lot of money forging Becks thunderbolt so he could 1 shot the ballisticians on this level, which proved to be a good decision, I put the starsphere on him since he only has 3 uses left, and with that in mind im debating whether im going to get the real Falchion or not since I get the gaiden and get to keep the starsphere if I don't make starlight.

It would be a shame not to get the better Falchion since Marth is actually trained unlike my other H5 runs, but the starsphere is really nice considering I don't get to use the Hammerne staff at all.

We started and immediately I lowered the bridge with the key I bought a while back and baited the generals above me as well the palladins to the left, I had to play pretty careful because most enemies in this level have brave weapons.

We also in the same turn killed the ballista with Beck, and I knew I had made a good choice in forging when I saw that.

I ran everyone up across the bridge because  there was no point in running to get hammerne since I don't get Lena, so I just sent Jagen and Gordin to kill the lone ballistician for safe keeping and than ran them back before the reinforcements showed up.

Speaking of reinforcements I made the of not using Dolph to choke them out because while Minerva can do it there was a Horseman over there that I only saw after i placed her in that point, luckily the MT on the brave bow is so low that it doesn't do too much damage to her so she survived, I brought Dolph up to tank Camus and I baited him over with him after I killed the Pachyderm ballistician with Beck.

That deserves applause.

Yes man, I'm glad that stood out to you because with my roster, Marth was my best unit for the first 9 chapters of the game besides Jagen, and because of that it made every one of those chapters have a very complex and long solution until we got Minerva.

Marth worked hard for those stats, way harder than anyone would have to work for those stats to be fair, but hard nonetheless.

Chapter 21: This chapter is actually kind of a pain, if you take it slow because you are in an open field/trees against a ton of palladins/draco reinforcements will join the ones already there. So we instantly baited as much enemies as we could and pushed forward.

Spoiler

So in case anyone doesn't know, my Dolph is a legend, and saved the LP from annoyance and frustration with his absolute Girth, the only investment I gave him was one dracoshield, so his regular level ups and promo bonuses got him to this glorious defense stat. Let it be known that Dolph could care less about your physical weapons.

He capped it at level 9 as well which is really nice.

His other stats don't really hold a candle to that but he fulfills his purpose quite well.

Does this make Dolph secretly a really good unit? absolutely not. But something I love about these games is the fact you can find a use for anyone, PMU's also give you a greater motivation to do it because I never put this much into Dolph in a casual play through.

The only issue is while Dolph can bait enemies all day, he doesn't move that far, so our progression through the level was pretty slow at first meaning we didn't beat the first wave of reinforcements.

Pretty much a lot of dudes show up and it starts to get difficult really fast unless your positioned far back, which I wasn't. In order for Dolph to survive we had to kill the mage and I had Xane turn into Minerva before hand because I was going to have him run to the secret shop soon. We one hit the mage with the Hautelclere and killed the the sniper with Xane and ran everyone else back, Minerva doesn't have the defense of Dolph but she is no slouch in that department either so the 3 of them survived the rest of the enemies and we cleaned up the remainders with the rest of the army.

After that we quickly killed the boss because the reinforcements stop after you kill the boss, and I cleared out the secret shop and seized the throne.

Chapter 21 was completed in 13 turns.

The dilemma I face now is whether or not I want to kill Gharnef and get Falchion or let him be and get Nagi and the Gaiden.

On one side keeping the star sphere is nice because I have no access to Hammerne in the play through, but it feels wrong to not get the real Falchion given that Marth is actually built, which is something I almost never let happen in H5, plus having Nagi slay Medeus wouldn't be a fitting ending for all the units I trained up.

While I think I should get Marth his Falchion, having even more limited uses on these legendary weapons for the final chapter might end up gutting me, so it's something I'm going to have to think about.

Well, that's a shame but hey, capped Def is capped Def.

I assume the Tiny Falchion will not suffice?

Ya I'm having a great time using Dolph, I had no idea he was going to turn out the way he did.

Sadly tiny Falchion has something like 7 MT, and since I would like Hardin and Marth to kill Medeus tag team style I am thinking that I should really get the real thing.

Chapter 22: Man what a delay! Ive actually had this chapter done for a while I just ran out of upload space on this thread for the pictures and I didn't have the motivation somehow to go to a third party site to do it (even though using imgur turned out to be the fastest thing ever). I'm a lazy idiot, but I'm OK with that.

As for preps we did the unthinkable (not really), I used the stat boosters from the secret shop.

Minerva only really lacked killing power, Rogers hit was atrocious, and Draug lacked damage the whole game, which was only salvage by his speed early on.

Once the chapter started I had Beck snipe out the fortify curates while everyone else ran up while the first squad of fliers flew straight at us, Dolph just hard tanked them. Did I mention how tanky Dolph is? he is going to cheese so hard for the rest of the game, probably only the last level is going to be really difficult.

We cut all those enemies down and I remembered how annoying the reinforcements are in this level, in fact if you wait too long a swarm tome bishop that moves will come form one of the forts, so I warped Dolph on one of the tiles and started to move up.

Meanwhile I finally made a decision and had Marth get Starlight, I just couldn't let the opportunity slide since Marth has already done so much this play through, Also Hardin has enough speed to not be doubled by Medeus, so it's very doable.

After Dolph spent a few turns thinning the numbers we ran up and blocked the forts to let Minerva have her 1v1 with Michalis, in which she stomped him. It's no surprise here honestly, if you train Minerva she wins pretty easily, and if you don't then she loses pretty hard. After that Marth had to catch up and we seized.

Chapter 23: I was given a little bit of trouble by this chapter, but my team is very strong so once I knew when the reinforcements were coming it was pretty easy.

I didn't really have any preps of note so we started the chapter and went for it, though I must say I am pretty much out of Javelins which is a shame because Gordin didn't get one.

I immediately ran Marth up with a key to get the 2 chests while everyone else ran to the right.

Even though Linde has been pretty behind the whole game and doesn't have the stats to combat Gharnef and a Horde of Mages by herself, she has a pure water which was the only reason she could do it, I was determined to have her kill Gharnef, because when I play the honor usually goes to Merric.

So after I picked off some of the Bishops I sent In Linde and she crit and killed the first Gharnef which was a fake.

Spoiler

After that I used the first save tile and flew Minerva up to kill some of the swarm Mages, healing her with Physics when she needed it, she did pretty good until the reinforcements warped in, which I completely forgot they did that, and it doesn't help that they all have Thorons and have innate crit chance on pretty much everyone.

Spoiler

After going back on my save I had beck snipe all of the swarmers and felt dumb for not using roger... I completely forgot that his luck growth was so high, it's especially weird that he is my highest luck unit being my berserker, so he is the only member of my team that is immune to any crits from all the Thoron Mages, so with a pure water he killed them all via hand axe. Roger has really started to pull himself together lately.

Spoiler

Once the reinforcements were clear we moved the rest of the team up just in time for the second wave in which it got pretty crowded. Luckily we were able to get through with no casualties and we killed the second fake with Hardin.

Also Dolph is still getting good levels, and now almost has the speed of a enemy base H5 Palladin.

Spoiler

tzjsjGE.pngcz6HD03.pngGvZysOH.png

After that we killed the boss and I wanted to give Linde every advantage she could possibly have against Gharnef so I pure watered her and put her on the boss throne, to which she just crit Gharnef in the face with starlight annihilating him, thus we got Falchion for Marth.
