Well I'd imagine that they would have similar hair colours but then again Ike and Mist, I could imagine Leonie and Raphael being siblings or maybe Mercedes and Annette, just because of their scenes together. I was thinking of Ashe and axe guy myself. Precisely because their hair color is the same(also they're seen together behind Mercedes and Annette), but then their skin colour isn't... which is a problem. I could get behind that, the skin colour isn't in their favour to be siblings but a good big brother/little brother bond hasn't been done in FE since Oscar, Boyd and Rolf, so I'm all for it. The first trailer was more focused on Edelgard, who has a more disillusioned view of the Church of Seiros. The latest trailer focuses more on Byleth, which is why the overall tone was more bland (i.e. s/he doesn't have an opinion either way since s/he was a hired teacher). - Sothis has ties with the Church of Seiros (or if not then their intensions are aligned) - Whichever house we choose will then be the antagonist house, as Byleth (unknowingly) leads the house closer to the Sothis. By the time they find out, it's too late and the head of the chosen house gets possessed by Sothis. So then Byleth has to work with the other two houses and the Church to defeat the dragon. The Church is the one who provides the crests (Fire Emblem) that helps defeat the dragon. - Once the dragon is defeated, the Three Houses are back to their relative peace with the Church maintaining it's power as the neutral party keeping the emblem in case the dragon comes back. And the reason why the Church is the neutral party (and central to the story) is because the dragon previously has come from the three different houses and it's the Church's responsibility to watch over the students to make sure this doesn't happen. - So by playing the game, we are perpetuating the long-running cycle of the Church of Seiros controlling Fodlan. (Or) If it was similar to Fates, then one of the paths is the 4 protagonists will find out the Church's goal and fight against the Church bringing back true peace to Fodlan. Gocciole Posted February 22, 2019 Share Posted February 22, 2019 (edited) We're almost 100% safe we're going to recruit units other than the students,right? but it wouldn't make sense to recruit veteran knights or some random mercenary and have them forcefully enroll in the academy and make them take exams to reclass them,seeing them study in the class as well as tutoring them and assigning solo studies and what not,anything related to the academy in general.Would be stupid and jarring. So,what if,to make up for the fact that you're given 20ish units you can fully customize the other units you recruit have a set class and you can only promote them,and not reclass or anything? to balance out the customization craze,which could be honestly overwhelming and tiring if too expansive. I can imagine something like this especially if the church turns out to be evil. Like the other two houses end up as brainwashed puppets and you have to fight them in order to snap them out of it. Maybe Famitsu starts doing something in April or whatever. I don't think Nintendo is going to give any more trailers on this until E3. SorrowOfAcheron Posted February 23, 2019 Share Posted February 23, 2019 Some story theories/confirmed stuff tied with wishful thinking: - Sothis, Head Priestess of Seiros/Valkyrie Lady and the Viking guy are all connected. No idea who our enemy will be (they might all be allies and the dark mage guy will be the bad guy). Also someone else pointed out the battle from the first trailer took place in the past, so Viking guy would be dead (and so would Valkyrie Lady if she's a normal human. If she's Seiros she might also be dead but there could be a possibility of reincarnation cause FE). The fact that the mark that Sothis and the Viking have doesn't appear anywhere on Church related material (not even on the High Priestess from the front view we got in the recent trailer, the Valkyrie Lady might since I haven't seen any good, front pictures of her) makes me think if the connection they have is older than the Church of Seiros, or if it's a kind of seal to keep her in that weird dimension she's in. Lots of possibilities. Also the Church and Viking guy either have twin swords, or it is a keepsake of Church which they fight over. Valkyrie Lady seen caressing the sword (possibly after the Viking guy has been beaten, indicating deep devotion to the Church, if the sword is rooted in its legacy, or a way of mourning the Viking in some way?). Byleth obtains it (or one of them) as we see from later in the trailer. Wondering if there's any requirements for wielding. - Byleth's named after a demon and only he can see Sothis (atm). I'd definitely be down for good/bad endings if they decide to go down the demon route, although we don't have any mention of demons in this game yet so we will have to see more. I really would like to see the possibility of maybe Byleth becoming a villain of sorts; kind of like letting you decide your outlook on the different factions in the game. We see students fighting Western Church Soldiers in the second trailer so we can assume the school (or at least one House) engages the Church in battle. With this in mind, I think if we get impactful decision-making it'd be amazing if instead of siding with either the Church or the Houses, you take your own path based around your origins as a demon (or whatever the reason is for having that 'mysterious power'). Though it is kinda unlikely seeing as THREE HOUSES is the name of the game; I doubt there will be a point where we turn our backs on that. They usually publish them in the middle of the month which we got recently but nothing about the game(since nothing was mentioned about it at all) probably due to it just getting a reveal last week so middle of march will have something. Although some here say it'll be things we know but it could add more details on those things and a few new little things that wasn't explained or shown well in the new trailer. Honestly I'm still worrisome for the marketing for this game if we don't get anything for at least next month and April no matter how small it is like a info trailer about more mechanics it won't do as well as I feel it potentially could. Then again Awakening/Fates set the bar really high with its marketing of course it won't be disappointing as SoV's still for the first ever Mainline FE Switch game it need to make a big impact for the series. Posted February 23, 2019 Share Posted February 23, 2019 (edited) My idea for how the plot will go - Prologue Chapter(Byleth and Jeralt train) Jeralt is appointed to escort the 3 house leaders to Garreg Mach(explains why Byleth is walking with all 3) Gang is pursued by Kostas' crew, and Byleth protects the nobles, at the cost of his life(Byleth gets stabbed in the back by Kostas) Byleth speaks to Sothis and she grants her power(time reversal), Byleth reverses time and saves the day. Byleth is appointed due to his ability to rewind time which would be useful to making sure the students don't die?(IDK LMAO) School Begins School is attacked Students not of your house except the two house captains are killed. GrimmLow Posted February 23, 2019 Share Posted February 23, 2019 (edited) My Thoery: Whip sword dude is Byleth's ancestor and Seiros is the current leader or ancestor of the current leader of the church. Byleth's ancestor through Sothis's guidance noticed the hidden evil within the church (evil sorceror dude) and tried to stop him. The goddess then gifts Seiros the gift to "guide the lost" and leads the church to purge Byleth's ancestors off Fodlan in a crusade-like war. After the war is done Seiros then unites the crests of the land with Byleth's crest being purged out which is why it is not on the mural because it was made after the war. Seiros then gifts the blade to a extremely loyal knight of the church with the current one being the swordswoman near the end of the trailer. Byleth's lineage is found out by the swordswoman and by her loyalty to the church attempts to kill him to bring "peace" to Fodlan. The evil sorceror dude then arrives and injures the sowrdswoman. After that he extracts the crest stone off of the sword and crushes it whilst filling it with dark energy. Byleth then takes action by retrieving the sword and then his lineage starts to awaken inside him repelling the evil energy with his aura. He then reawakens the blade and fully reclaims it.
