The first poster will post the name of a fake band. The person after that will post their genre and what they're like, while giving a new band name.

A hardcore punk group who specialize in satirizing pop culture and the media. Not very popular-all their albums are self-published, and they're very... minimalistic, but they have a solid underground following.

Death metal group that utilizes flamethrowers, oil fountains (water fountain, but with oil, and sometimes lit on fire), and exploding oil barrels during their live shows. They also paint their face with crude oil. They sing about bringing salvation to the world through suffocating humanity with carbon dioxide.

A slow jazz group from New Orleans that is frequently licensed by porn film studios.  Generally if it involves something about a pair meeting in a bar and it involves multi-racial relationships, you're probably hearing their music in the background.  Not a very appreciated group due to well... being the soundtrack artists of porn films and their music is the last thing their viewers look for.

A speed metal group with a strong political message and a love for marine based puns. Sort of like Dragonforce, at least in sound-the lyrics are more punk than metal.

Slow, indie rock garage band who take some influence from shoegazing and prog rock. Their most popular song, Cherry Blossom Lane, is essentially their own take on the Green Day songs Jesus Of Suburbia or Homecoming: It's 10 minutes long and split into 5 parts with different melodies, and even different instrumentation. It comes off their album "All Along The City Street", their bestselling concept album about a city who's subcultures are at war with each other.

Some Frank Zappa inspired free-form, nonsense that tries to be super experimental and innovative and genre-bending. It has like five diehard fans who swear its the most brilliant thing since Montana.  Everyone else says its just noise.

An electronic synthpop music based group from Quebec.  Their album covers and concert stages are very inspired by H.R. Giger and even get an occasional special guest star from popular sci-fi movies or tv shows.  They usually focus a lot of their music on the struggles of the human condition in an attempt to balance the achievements of technology along with the follies of human nature and the isolating effects it has.

Psychedelic punk, or 'Psypunk', band who is pretty out there and experimental, but is still friendly and cool. A bit hipster-y, but has a hit every once in a while.

Prog Rock band that started as a prog Rock cover band. Their cover of “Roundabout” got them started, but their first original work made them popular.

Bar Fight at Yeaty’s.

Edit: Meant for Kalamazoo, but still works.

Slightly bluesy classic rock with heavy shades of the 80's. Their three biggest hits are all throwbacks-"That Woman" to power pop-y love songs like Jessie's Girl or, more recently, Walk The Moon's Shut Up And Dance With Me, "Heavy Roller" to hair metal bands like Motley Crue, and "Lord Knows I Love 'Em" to, of all things, Bob Dylan.
