I had forgotten that you are more qualified than IS to determine the course of their property. To answer more seriously, it's because the whole series is shifting towards those very same 'shitty jrpgs' and animu's in it's themes. You can see it in the art style, in the character interactions, the storytelling and in the characters themselves. And judging by how ridiculously successful FE:A seems to have been in Japan (and hopefully in the West), it wouldn't surprise me if this shift became a permanent one. I'd also like to add the art style has always been pretty anime, graphical limitations not withstanding. And I think we can all appreciate the departure from Shadow Dragon/New Mystery's rather Uncanny Valley art style (at least I prefer it). The children characters. They all come from the bad future, correct? And that future more or less started when MU got possessed by Gimle, correct? So in those timelines, did MU father/mother his/her children before getting possessed? I mean, I suppose he/she must have, but that means that in an alternate universe, FeMU had to sit much of the war out due to being pregnant and MaMU's waifu had to do the same. It's an odd thought. Well, MU getting possessed was only the start of the bad future. Lucina states that for a while, some countries tried to fight back against the fallen, but were inevitably overwhelmed. Nn also talks about how hard it was to obtain food in that world, which suggests that she lived there for some time. So while the war leading up to MU's possession might have taken some time, it's probably wasn't more than 2-3 years in total. I don't see how that makes sense. Mark is more likely to be traumatized if the caring parent that takes care of him suddenly became a demon than if he never actually knew that parent before he was possessed. At tbe very least, when Mark's other parent was one of the children characters, he HAS to be from an alternate alternate universe (this is getting ridiculous) to the other time-travellers. That's more likely the reason for his amnesia. A gen 3 Mark is coming from a second bad future. To avoid writing different dialogue for him regarding each future, they just say that he has amnesia and doesn't remember it. The only people who remember him are his siblings, and gen 3 Mark can never have them either, so, there's no contradiction even though they wouldn't need to change his dialogue.
