It's easier to teach yourself another language if you already knew it at one point in your life. I pretty much forgot Korean by the time I was in middle school because I never had to use it. Then I decided to learn it again at the time I was in high school. It wasn't too difficult then because it was pretty much jogging my memory on the characters, but I could imagine that if I had to learn it from scratch it would have been really hard if not impossible for me. (Note: Krom, Emyuu (My Unit), Sumia, Mark, and Cynthia appear before other characters in their respective locations.)
