EDIT2

Obligatory report

Staff interview by Kirokan

On Phoenix Mode:

The developers stated that Phoenix Mode was created to sway players interested in the game, but worried it was too hard for them.

During these situations, players can lower the mode and difficulty mid-game, rather than starting again from scratch. Going back up to Classic Mode is not possible though.

The developers were also quick to confirm that playing on Phoenix Mode offers no gameplay disadvantages, such as locking out specific endings or anything like that. Rather, beating Classic Mode is meant for the feeling of accomplishment

On weapon durability:

Although durability is gone, the developers have tried to make players think hard about which of the various weapons they should use in a given situation.

For instance, some weapons may reduce the enemy’s critical rate, while others may be extremely powerful, but difficult to attack twice with.

Aqua:

Similar to the Avatar, Aqua was originally the princess of Nohr, taken prisoner by Hoshido.

Unsurprisingly, given her role, her class is Songstress and she has the ability to Sing to allow allies to move again (like Dancers in previous games). In the screenshot above, she is wielding a Bronze Naginata, a Hoshidan lance.

Other classes:

We now know that Ryouma is of the Trueblade class, although before you get too excited, this is more likely a renamed Swordmaster than a 3rd Tier class.

Other classes include Nohr’s Sorcerers, who excel in Magic, and Brave Heroes, renown heroes who wield swords and axes (likely renamed Heroes). The Hoshidans meanwhile have Oni, fierce mace-wielding warriors with high strength and defence and Priestesses, maidens who heal with batons.

^ Aqua is holding a Bronze Naginata. She has the skills Luck +4 and what appears to be Relief? (Edit: higher res screenshot confirms that it is not Relief, but some brand new skill)

She also has a Sing command. Maybe it'll work like Galdrar?

Well, NintendoEverything has the scans up.

http://nintendoeverything.com/scans-roundup-fire-emblem-if-project-x-zone-2-yoshis-woolly-world-more/

Now we can get a cleaner translation.

Wow, a lot of weird things in there that I don't even know where to start....

But wait, that's it? Isn't there supposed to be an interview or something!?

So, what class is Aqua excatly? Dancer?

Doesn't look like it, I believe when we learned her name we also learned she was called a "singing priestess" and it looks like it might be true though I don't know the second character in her class name.

Well, some people have their work cut out for them. Good luck.

The thief's affiliation from earlier was simply 賊, aka... thief.

I STILL can't decipher the warrior's. It doesn't SEEM to be Nohr, though.

部族兵, Tribal/Clan Soldier. Whatever that means...

部族兵, Tribe Soldier. Whatever that means...

Sounds like some form of barbarians.

Also, some confirmed classes. On Nohr, they have Sorcerers and "Brave Heroes" who wield swords and axes (aka Heroes). Meanwhile Hoshido has 鬼人 (can't think of an English eqivalent), warriors with high strength and defence that wield 金棒 (maces/offensive rods?) and Priestesses (Miko).

EDIT

The Hoshdio skirmish menu seems to have limited areas of where to go. Maybe there isn't a world map or are they just shortcuts?

Some places: ??? (valley?) suspension bridge, mountainside village, royal capital plaza, grasslands and ??? fort.

EDIT2:

All four forms of 3DS connectivity confirmed: SpotPass, StreetPass, Local and Internet. Internet is at least used for downloading DLC, but Local suggests some form of multiplayer or local data exchange... hopefully something better than Double Duel.

Decided to split the new posts so people can find them more easily.

EDIT:

Not sure if I missed this, but Ryouma is obviously a Trueblade (Note: this is probably just a renamed Swordmaster, not a 3rd tier class).

Interviews are on pages 7 and 8. I think there'll be a lot of interesting info in there!

Also, I think the colors behind the weapon indicate condition. The enemies seem to have green background consistently (both the bow and axe enemy, axe dude is on page 6). I wonder how this'll turn out?

EDIT: A very quick skim mentions the modes on page 8. Can't say much else, as I need to leave soon.

Any info from the interview? More so do they mention why they removed Weapon Durability?

My Japanese sucks, but there's a blurb in the top-right corner of the last page. I know they reference FE: Gaiden, where weapon durability was also abolished.

Nah, it's still consistent with axes, bows and maces sharing the same weapon triangle group.

Meanwhile swords and katanas are red, while lances and naginatas are blue.

EDIT2:

Just to triple confirm, that stuff about Aqua being Hoshido's hostage and a Nohrian princess are true. I'm not sure if the brief blurb says who was taken hostage first or what the circumstances were.

...And, yeah, she sings to refresh allies, like a dancer.

There also seems to be some talks about weapons in the bottom box of this page as well, but doesn't mention durability.

The question mark at the end makes me wonder if it's just the author's speculation. I see keywords like "critical rate" and "consecutive attacks", so I'm assuming they're saying weapons have other attributes beyond pure Might.

EDIT

Ooh, actually, the critical rate is referring to lowering critical rates. Maybe like how Ragnell nullified critical rates in Path of Radiance? Anti-killer weapons, basically.

...And the bit about consecutive attacks... is it referring to weapons with amazing Might, but unable to double attack? Time to double check my Japanese grammar XD

EDIT2:

Yeah, "difficult" to double attack. Huh, is Weight back?

Wait, weight is back and we have anti-killer weapons, almost like the hoplon guard built into the weapon. This is starting to lower my anger at the changes, IS taketh with one hand and give with another should this be the case.
