Terms

Alondite

A sacred blade blessed by the goddess Ashera. It has long been held by the Black Knight

Apostle

The title given to one who can hear the voice of the goddess. It is a power possessed by only female ancestors of Altina. Apostles also hold the title of Empress of Begnion.

Beast Tribe

Comprising the lion, tiger, cat, and wolf clans, the beast laguz are exceedingly close and consider themselves member of the same large, extended family.

Begnion

A beorc nation and largest on the continent. Its ruler has two traditional roles, that of the apostle and empress. The current empress is Sanaki. It claims suzerainty over both Crimea and Daien.

Begnion Central Army

The official name of this army is the Begnion Imperial Central Army. It is comprised of the elite soldiers who guarded Mainal Cathedral in the capital of Sienne. It is currently under the command of Zelgius, Earl of Kadohl.

Beorc

Beings known as the Children of Wisdom. They have flourished through their clever use of tools, weapons and language.

Bird Tribes

Comprising the hawk, raven and heron clans, the bird laguz have their own distinct temperaments and live separately in their own individual nations.

Blessing

A mystical endowment given by the goddess to her followers. It increases the followers’ abilities and improves the quality of their items and weapons. The closer to the followers are to the goddess, the stronger her blessing.

Blood Pact

An ancient type of contract where a sparkling brand appears on the arm of the borrower as proof of the debt owed. If the terms of the contract are broken, a curse is invoked which kills citizens of the borrower’s nation. The brand is passed from generation to generation until the debt is repaid.

Branded

A small number of beorc who are born with a brand upon their skin denoting they have a laguz ancestor. It is not uncommon to find people of rare talents and abilities among the Branded. They live longer and age more slowly than average beorc. The laguz refer to them as Parentless.

Chaos Energies

The energy that contrasts order. It is best conceptualized as free will. It is confusion, change, strife, and liberty. If the chaos energy within an individual grows too strong, it will overwhelm intellect, causing the individual to run wild like an animal.

Created

The generic collective term for both the laguz and beorc races. The word “human” cannot be used in place of the Created as it was a derogatory meaning among the laguz. The Created used to be known as Zunanma.

Crimea

A beorc nation located in northwestern Tellius. An ally of Gallia whose laguz-friendly policies are slowly being accepted by its populace. It defeated Daein in the Mad King’s War.

Crimean Royal Knights

An elite group of knights assigned to the protection of the ruler of Crimea. It was formerly commanded by Renning, and is now led by Geoffrey.

Daein

A beorc nation located in northeastern Tellius. Its citizenry widely embraces an anti-laguz ideology. Since its defeat in the Mad King’s War, it has been governed by Begnion.

Dark God

A being of tremendous evil who is said to have once caused violent floods to destroy all lands. It is now imprisoned within Lehran’s Medallion, but legend has it that the dark god will awake and break free if a great war erupts and upsets the forces of balance to favor chaos.

Disciples of Order

Religious zealots freed from petrification to act as the fist of Ashera. Though not as powerful as the messenger in the era of the Three Heroes, they are blessed by the goddess.

Dragon Tribe

Comprising the black, white and red dragon clans, the dragon laguz believe in the absolute authority of their king. They serve him with unwavering loyalty, and rarely leave Goldoa.

Feral One

A laguz whose essential nature has been warped by the experiments of Daein’s former court naturalist, Izuka. The Feral Ones were given an elixir that allowed them to remain in their animal forms indefinitely. This greatly enhanced their combat prowess, but at the expense of their sanity.

Four Riders

The title the ruler of Daein bestows upon the nations’ four most accomplished generals.

Galdr of Rebirth

A galdr that can negate the power of corruption and restore a person or thing to its original condition. The number of singers dictates the strength of the galdr. It can bring about miraculous change, such as restoring an entire forest to life or bringing sanity back to a warped laguz.

Galdr of Release

A galdr said to have the power to release the dark god imprisoned in Lehran’s Medallion. Legend says that only descendants of Altina, Begnion’s first empress, are able to use this powerful seid magic.

Galdr of Sleep

A galdr that can quell the chaotic energies of the dark god imprisoned in Lehran’s Medallion. It can be sung by any member of the heron clan.

Galdrar

The songs used by the heron clan singers to wield seid magic. It is said that the herons’ galdrar have great power and are capable of performing miraculous feats.

Gallia

The ancestral home of the beast tribe laguz, located in the dense forests of western Tellius. It is an ally of Crimea and currently ruled by King Caineghis.

Goddess

The mystical being once known as Ashunera who created the world. She is worshiped by beorc and laguz alike.

Goldoa

The ancestral home of the dragon tribe laguz, located in a volcanic area of southwestern Tellius. Its policy of isolationism has been unchanged for many centuries of King Dheginsea’s rule.

Great Flood

A great disaster that struck some 800 years ago. All lands other than Tellius were sunk beneath the waters. The flood is said to have been the work of the dark god imprisoned in Lehran’s Medallion.

Greil Mercenaries

A mercenary group that operates out of Crimea. It is led by Ike, and it won fame for its prowess in the Mad King’s War.

Hatari

A nation long thought to be mere legend, but now known to be located to the east of Daein, across a vast desert. It is rules by Queen Nailah of the wolf clan laguz.

Heart of Fire

Another name by which Lehran’s Medallion is known. It was given this name due to the blue flames which surround it.

(Note: The name is supposed to be “Fire Emblem”)

Heron Clan

A clan of the bird tribe laguz. They are highly attuned to the forces of balance, which enables them to sing galdrar, read the thoughts of others, and perform other mysterious feats. They are incapable of combat. Only four herons are known to be still living.

Holy Guards

The name of the apostle’s personal guards. They are commanded by Sigrun and Tanith serves as deputy-commander. Only the best of the imperial pegasus knights are chosen to join this elite unit.

Human

The term for the beorc originally coined by the Begnion senate; it carried the connotation of being “the chosen people.” It is the common name for beorc in their own nations.

Human

A derogatory term for the beorc used by the laguz. It was first used by laguz slaves to refer to their beorc masters. The laguz used the same pronunciation as the beorc so as not to be discovered denigrating their owners.

Imperial Dracoknights

The wing of Begnion’s airborne army that reports to the senate. It is made up entirely of dracoknights, known for its tough and sometimes brutal members.

Imperial Pegasus Knights

The wing of Begnion’s airborne army that reports to the apostle. It is made up entirely of pegasus knights. The apostle’s personal guards are chosen from his troop.

Insight

The name given to the hawk laguz Janaff’s wondrously acute eyesight. As one of King Tibarn’s most trusted vassals, Janaff uses his ability to see both enemies and allies from miles distant to aid his ruler and country.

Kilvas

The ancestral home of the raven clan laguz, located on the easternmost of a chain of three islands off the southern coast of the continent. It is currently rules by King Naesala.

Laguz

Beings known as the Children of Strength. they are divided into three tribes: beast, bird and dragon. They transform into their animal forms during combat to fully utilize their physical prowess.

Laguz Emancipation Army

A group of warriors fighting to free the laguz kept secretly in slavery in Begnion. It is led by the mage Tormod. They operate with the support of the apostle.

Medallion

The bronze medallion in which Lehran is said to have sealed an evil god. It disappeared along with Princess Lillia after the Serenes Massacre. It passed from Lillia’s hands to Elena, then to Mist, and finally to Ashnard. It was returned to the herons after Ashnard was defeated.

New Tongue

The name given to the common language that most beorc and laguz living on Tellius use in daily life.

Old Tongue

The first language to be spoken on the continent of Tellius. It was a very difficult language and can now only be understood by a small portion of the population. Magic scrolls are always written in the old language.

Order Energy

The world is comprised of order and chaos energies. These energies have tremendous impact on the character of all sentient beings. Order is best conceptualized as dogma. It is method, stability, tranquillity and restraint.

Parentless

The term used by the laguz for the Branded. The birth of a “parentless”
child is an omen of bad luck, said to hasten the end of the world by 100 years.

Phoenicis

The ancestral home of the hawk clan laguz, located on the westernmost of a chain of three islands off the southern coast of the continent. It is currently ruled by King Tibarn.

Ragnell

A sacred blade blessed by the goddess Ashera. It was wielded by Ike in the Mad King’s War. After the war, Begnion named it a national treasure and had the sword returned to their care.

Seid Singers

Heron clan members who possess the ability to wield seid magic through the use of galdrar. The type of galdrar they can use depends on the strength of the singer.

Senator

A member of the political institution created and run by the most powerful of Begnion’s noble houses. While the apostle theoretical directs the senators’ actions, they have been quietly amassing power for themselves for many years.

Serenes

The ancestral home of the heron clan laguz. It was located in the Serenes Forest in central Tellius, but most of its citizens were massacred after the assassination of the Begnion apostle.

Serenes Massacre

A tragic event that occurred after the assassination of the apostle Misaha. The Begnion senators claimed that the herons were responsible for the apostle’s death. Enraged, the people of Begnion rose up to burn down the Serenes Forest, killing almost the entire heron clan.

Sub-human

A disparaging term for the laguz used by the beorc. It is quite common in Begnion, where the laguz are treated with no respect and little understanding.

Tellius

The continent on which this tale unfolds. With the recent discovery of Hatari, the number of nations on the continent has risen to eight.

Thousand-Year Judgement

This is the judgment the goddess Ashera will visit upon the peoples of Tellius after she awakens from a thousand-year slumber. To avoid having the goddess awaken prematurely and destroy humanity, the Three Heroes vowed that no great wars would occur during that time.

Three Heroes

The title given to the heroes who are said to have helped Ashera defeat a dark god in the distant past. The group included Altina, who became the first ruler of Begnion; Soan, who became the second king of the beast tribe laguz; and Dheginsea, the long-lived king of Goldoa.

(Note: The description is partially incorrect, because Soan actually became the second king of Begnion)

Tower of Guidance

A large tower in Begnion’s capital city of Sienne. It is the symbol of the goddess’s power and the place from which she is said to watch over the world.

Transform

The ability of the laguz to temporarily focus their energies and transform into their animal forms. While transformed, they are fearsome combatants.

Vigilance

The name given to the preternatural hearing of King Tibarn’s trusted vassal, Ulki. His hearing is so acute that he can understand a whispered conversation spoken at the horizon. King Tibarn rightly treasures this ability and uses it to his strategic advantage.

Zunanma

The name of the common ancestor of the beorc and laguz. In Begnion, the Zunanma are recognized as the ancestors of the beorc only.

Characters

Aimee

A member of a travelling merchant convoy. She is the items dealer of the group that includes Muston, Daniel, Jorge, and Ilyana. They allied themselves with Crimea in the Mad King’s War.

Almedha

The mother of King Pelleas, and former concubine of Ashnard. She was separated from her son when he was an infant, and spent her life searching for him. She is a very doting mother.

Amy

The adopted child of Largo and Calill. They are raising her to believe they are her birth parents.

Aran

A childhood friend of Laura’s. He is an orphan of Daein who was adopted by a Begnion merchant. He has returned to Daein as a member of the Imperial Occupation Army.

Ashera

The goddess of order. She awakens from her slumber and begins turning beorc and laguz to stone as part of her thousand-year judgment.

Ashnard

The Made King of Daein. He desired to remake the world by releasing the chaos of Lehran’s medallion, so that strength would dictate authority. He lost the war and his life to Crimea.

Astrid

A member of the Royal Knights of Crimea. She is a Begnion noble who fled her house to pursue her own destiny. Her service with Ike in the Mad King’s War tied her to Crimea.

Bastian

The count of Fayre. He is well versed in the art of diplomacy and the ways of the world, and is one of Elincia’s most faithful vassals. He enjoys speaking as if he is on stage at all times.

Bertram

A knight of Daein who possessed an eerie presence and whose face was always hidden behind his helm. He was one of the nation’s Four Riders, but was defeated by Crimea in the Mad King’s War.

Black Knight

An enigmatic knight encased in ebon armor. He was once of Daein’s Four Riders. He lost a duel with Ike in the Mad King’s War, and was left for dead in the rubble of Nados Castle.

Boyd

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. He is the younger brother of Oscar and the older brother of Rolf. A fiery, headstrong brawler, he keeps the team motivated.

Brom

A peasant from the Crimean countryside. He joined a rural militia to drive out Daein invaders in the Mad King’s War. He’s a cheerful fellow who loves working on his family’s farm.

Bryce

A knight who served the kings of Daein. He was one of the legendary warriors known as the Great Riders. He gave his life for his country.

Caineghis

The king of Gallia. A lion laguz of overwhelming stature, who wants beorc and laguz to coexist in peace. He formed and alliance with Crimea’s King Ramon, who was assassinated by King Ashnard.

Calill

A self-proclaimed “master of the magic arts.” She fought in the Mad King’s War, then married her sweetheart, Largo, and opened a shop in Crimea. She was once Tormod’s teacher.

Daniel

A member of a travelling merchant convoy. He is the blacksmith of the group that includes Muston, Aimee, Ilyana, and his twin, Jorge. They allied themselves with Crimea in the Mad King’s War.

Danved

A close friend of Largo and Calill, owners of a Crimean market. He’s an expert lancer of unknown origins. He denies speculation that he and a man named Devdan are the same person.

Devdan

A mysterious lancer who fought with Crimea in the Mad King’s War. His odd speech was easy to misunderstand, but he was a man of sincere and noble intentions. He closely resembles Danved.

Dheginsea

The black dragon king of Goldoa. One of the three heroes who defeated the dark god. While his own power is nearly godlike, he has removed himself from all affairs outside Goldoa.

Edward

A member of the Dawn Brigade. He is a novice swordsman who is cheerful and well liked. Despite his youth, he is willing to fight in any battle where his friends might be threatened.

Elena

Greil’s wife and mother of Ike and Mist, she was killed in a tragic accident. She was highly attuned to the forces of balance, and once served as a priestess at the Palmeni Shrine.

Elincia

The queen of Crimea. Born in the winter of the previous king’s life, her existence was kept secret to avoid a war for succession. She reclaimed her nation and won the throne for the honour of her house.

Ena

A dragon laguz from Goldoa. She once served Daein on behalf of her missing finance, Rajaion. Her calm and analytical mind makes her a natural tactician.

Fiona

The lord of the independent territory of Marado. She is the daughter of Lanvega, formerly one of Daein’s Great Riders. To protect her land and people, she defies the occupation army.

Gareth

A red dragon laguz from Goldoa. He is a powerful and reliable vassal assigned to watch over Prince Kurthnaga.

Gatrie

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. He is an armoured knight who forms the core of the troop’s defenses. He is also like a younger brother to Shinon, and the two are often together.

Gawain

Greil’s true name. A master swordsman who was once one of Daein’s Great Riders, he stole Lehran’s Medallion and fled Daein when he learned of King Ashnard’s ambitions.

Geoffrey

The commander of Crimea’s Royal Knights. He, his elder sister Lucia, and his close friend Bastian are Queen Elincia’s most trusted and ardent supporters.

Giffca

A member of the lion clan of the beast tribe laguz. His strength in battle and long years of dedicated service to King Caineghis has earned him the title of King’s Shadow.

Greil

The founder of the Greil Mercenaries. The father of Ike and Mist, he was killed in a duel with the Black Knight. He once served as a mercenary for King Caineghis of Gallia.

Haar

A dragonmaster who immigrated to Daein to escape the corruption of the Begnion senate. He lost faith in Daein during the Mad King’s War, and sided with Crimea. He is now a transporter of goods.

Heather

A wandering thief from Crimea. She travels from town to town trying to raise money to buy medicine for her sick mother.

Hetzel

A senator of Begnion. He’s the duke of Asmin and also on the senate’s ruling body, the Council of Seven. Since the Serenes Massacre, he has seemed rather subdued in public.

Ike

The leader of the Greil Mercenaries, and the famed hero of the Mad King’s War. He renounced his peerage to live as a common soldier. He is blunt, but genuine and loyal.

Ilyana

A mage who specializes in lightning magic. She is part of a traveling merchant convoy. Her slender frame belies a ravenous appetite, and perpetual hunger is her closest companion.

Izuka

One of Pelleas’s closest advisors. He formerly served under King Ashnard as a court naturalist. His speech and mannerisms are eccentric in the extreme. He tends to belittle those around him.

Janaff

A bird tribe laguz and member of the hawk clan. He is one of King Tibarn’s most trusted soldiers. He possesses the skill Insight and has amazing vision. He looks young but is over 100 years old.

Jarod

A soldier in the Imperial Occupation Army. He is a noble from a minor house who once served in Duke Numida’s private army. He rose to his position on skill, not familial connections.

Jill

A dracoknight and former Daein soldier. During the Mad King’s War, she started to doubt Daein’s cause and eventually sided with Crimea. She has now returned to Daein to fight for its liberation.

Jorge

A member of a traveling merchant convoy. He is the used goods dealer of the group that includes Muston, Aimee, Ilyana, and his twin, Daniel. They were Crimea’s allies in the Mad King’s War.

Kieran

An axe paladin who serves as deputy commander of the Royal Knights of Crimea. For reasons unknown, he has named former royal knight Oscar as his permanent rival.

Kurthnaga

The black dragon prince of Goldoa. He is the son of King Dheginsea, and the youngest of all the dragons. He has established friendly ties with the outside world.

Kyza

A member of the tiger clan of the beast tribe laguz. A talented warrior who reports to Ranulf. Despite his talents, many regard him as rather stuffy and boring.

Largo

A world-class berserker who fought with Crimea during the Mad King’s War. He married Calill after the war and became a shopkeeper. An accident left him unable to fight.

Laura

A simple priestess from Daein. She joins Micaiah and company after they come to her aid, helping her retrieve medicine for her abbot.

Lanvega

The former lord of the independent territory of Marado. He served the former kings of Daein, and along with Gawain, Bryce, and Tauroneo was one of the famed Great Riders.

Leanne

A heron princess whose homeland of Serenes was destroyed by the beorc of Begnion. She survived the massacre, but slept for long years hidden in the forest. She speaks the modern tongue poorly.

Lekain

The vice-minister of the Begnion Senate, who is also the duke of Gaddos. He is a powerful man with a suspicious nature. It is rumored that he has the senate under his thumb.

Leonardo

A member of the Dawn Brigade. He is a novice archer of great natural ability. His composure and maturity suggest a good upbringing.

Lethe

A member of the cat clan of the beast tribe laguz. She is a proud warrior who once carried a hatred of beorc in her heart. Her travels with Ike have led her to gradually soften this stance.

Lillia

A heron princess whose homeland of Serenes was destroyed by the beorc of Begnion. She and Lehran’s Medallion were captured and imprisoned by Ashnard of Daein. She entrusted the medallion and the galdr of release to her caretaker, Elena. She passed away after Elena fled with Gawain.

Lorazieh

The king of Serenes, and father of Rafiel, Reyson and Leanne. He and Reyson were rescued by Tibarn after the Serenes Massacre, but he has been bed-redden for over twenty years.

Lucia

A Crimean noble who belongs to the house of Count Delbray. She is Geoffrey’s elder sister and one of Queen Elincia’s most loyal and trusted vassals.

Lyre

A member of the cat clan of the beast tribe laguz. She is Lethe’s younger sister, and serves under Ranulf.

Makalov

A member of the Royal Knights of Crimea. He is a compulsive gambler who would rather bet on games of chance than eat. His debts have been a source of trouble for his sister. Marcia.

Marcia

A member of the Royal Knights of Crimea. She was formerly one of Begnion’s Holy Guard, but left to deal with her brother Makalov’s debt problems. She fought with Crimea in the Mad King’s War.

Meg

A young peasant girl from the countryside of Crimea. She travels all the way to Daein to meet the man her parents have decided she should marry. She wears heavy armor to keep her safe.

Mia

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. She fought as a mercenary in the Mad King’s War but was captured by Daein. She joined Ike after he rescued her from prison.

Micaiah

A member of the Dawn Brigade. She is a wielder of light magic known for her silver hair and burning desire to see Daein free from Begnion’s rule. She was once a fortune-teller.

Misaha

A former apostle of Begnion. She ordered the emancipation of laguz slaves in order to build a nation of equality for beorc and laguz. King Ashnard played a role in her assassination, blaming the herons.

Mist

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. She is the daughter of the group’s former leader, Greil, and younger sister to the current leader, Ike. She is highly attuned to the forces of balance.

Mordecai

A member of the tiger clan of the beast tribe laguz. He is a powerful fighter who serves under Lethe, but is a rarity among laguz that he dislikes fighting. He is unskilled with the modern tongue.

Muarim

A tiger clan laguz and second-in-command of the Laguz Emancipation Army. He is also something of a father figure to Tormod. He was once a slave of the senate.

Muston

A member of a traveling merchant convoy. He is the weapons dealer of the group that includes Aimee, Daniel, Jorge and Ilyana. They allied themselves with Crimea in the Mad King’s War.

Naesala

The king of Kilvas. A raven laguz of great ambition and guile. He will do anything to fill the coffers of his kingdom, even deal with beorc. He is a childhood friend of Reyson and Leanne.

Nailah

The queen of the lost nation of Hatari. A wolf laguz of grace and determination, she crosses the Desert of Death to meet with other laguz tribes for the first time in eight hundred years.

Nasir

A dragon laguz from Goldoa. He played the role of a double agent of the Mad King’s War to aid his granddaughter, Ena. In the end, his friendship with Ike guided his actions and loyalties.

Nealuchi

A member of the raven clan of the bird tribe laguz. He is an aged chamberlain who loyally serves King Naesala, and acts as a guardian to Princess Leanne.

Nephenee

A young woman of the Crimean countryside. She joined a rural militia to drive out the Daein invaders turning the Mad King’s War. She has mostly overcome her shyness about revealing her rustic roots.

Nolan

A member of the Dawn Brigade. His experience living in the shadows makes him a shrewd and cautious warrior unlikely to make mistakes.

Numida

A member of the Begnion Senate. He is the duke of Numida and commander of the Imperial Occupation Army. A man of terrible avarice, he has subjected Daein to numerous atrocities.

Oliver

A former Begnion senator who was once duke of Tanas. An avid collector of beauty, three years ago he purchased Prince Reyson as a slave. He lost his peerage when his crime was discovered.

Oscar

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. The elder brother of Boyd and Rolf. He is a lance paladin who once served in the Royal Knights of Crimea.

Pelleas

The orphan of Daein’s former king, Ashnard the Mad. He knew nothing of his parentage until Izuka found him living a life of poverty among the masses. His love for Daein is quite strong.

Petrine

A knight of Daein. She was a cruel and brutal fighter who served as one of King Ashnard’s Four Riders. She was loyal to the king, and died in his name during the Mad King’s War.

Rafiel

A heron prince whose homeland of Serenes was destroyed by the beorc of Begnion. He was rescued while wandering in the Desert of Death by Queen Nailah. He possesses wings, but cannot fly.

Rajaion

A dragon laguz from Goldoa. His reason and his very identity were stolen by King Ashnard, who then used him as a personal steed.

Ranulf

A member of the cat clan of the beast tribe laguz. His keen intellect and friendly demeanour often earn him tasks dealing with the beorc. He has a deep friendship with Ike.

Renning

The younger brother of Ramon, late king of Crimea. He was defeated by Ashnard at Castle Crimea during the Mad King’s War, but bought Elincia time to escape the invaders.

Reyson

A heron prince whose homeland of Serenes was destroyed by the beorc of Begnion. He is known as the White Prince. After the massacre of his people, he spent twenty years living in Phoenicis.

Rhys

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. He is a bishop who serves as the group’s healer. Despite his healing skills, he himself is often ill.

Rolf

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. He is Oscar and Boyd’s younger brother, and the youngest member of the troop. And archer of no mean skill, he is Shinon’s student.

Sanaki

The empress of Begnion, who in her role as apostle is the voice of the goddess to her peoples. She agreed to help Elincia rebuild Crimea following the Mad King’s War.

Sephiran

The duke of Persis. He is also the highest-ranked senator in Begnion, and Empress Sanaki’s prime minister. He enjoys tremendous popular support, known for his kind heart.

Shinon

A member of the Greil Mercenaries. An archer of legendary skill who left the group when its former leader was killed. He later rejoined the team, but still has a grudge against Ike.

Sigrun

The commander of the Begnion Holy Guard. She, along with Prime Minister Sephiran, are chief among Apostle Sanaki’s vassals.

Skrimir

A member of the lion clan of the beast tribe laguz and nephew to King Caineghis. He passed an arduous series of trials by combat to prove his strength and right to succeed his uncle as king.

Soren

The tactician of the Greil Mercenaries. A wind sage of surpassing talent, whose clearheaded and objective insights guide the group. He has pledged his loyalty to Ike.

Sothe

A member of the Dawn Brigade. He is like a brother to Micaiah, and his search for her led him to meet Ike and fight in the Made King’s War. He is an orphan of Nevassa’s streets.

Stefan

A masterful swordsman who resides in a village of the Branded hidden somewhere in the Grann Desert. He fought for Crimea in the Mad King’s War and tutored Ike in the blade.

Tanith

The deputy commander of Begnion’s Holy Guard. She served with the troops sent to aid Crimea in the Mad King’s War. Where Sigrun is mild, Tanith is passionate and unyielding.

Tauroneo

A vassal of the former kings of Daein. A formidable lance general, he was once one of Daein’s Great Riders. He fought against King Ashnard in the last war, but once again fights for Daein.

Tibarn

The king of Phoenicis. A hawk laguz of tremendous size, whose power and skills are respected far and wide. He bears a deep and abiding enmity toward Begnion for its role in the Serenes Massacre.

Titania

The deputy commander of the Greil Mercenaries. She has been with the company since its inception. After Greil’s death, she gave her support to Ike as the new commander.

Tormod

The leader of the Laguz Emancipation Army. He is a bright and openhearted youth whose skill with fire magic belies his years. He joins the Daein conflict to aid old friends.

Ulki

A member of the hawk clan of the bird tribe laguz. He is one of King Tibarn’s most trusted soldiers. He possesses tremendous hearing and employs the skill Vigilance.

Valtome

A member of the Begnion Senate, and the duke of Culbert. He takes command of the Imperial Army to pursue the Laguz Alliance. He is a terrible narcissist, and arrogant beyond comprehension.

Vika

A member of the raven clan of the bird tribe laguz. She fights under Tormod in the Laguz Emancipation Army, and joins him and Muarim to fight in Daein.

Volke

An assassin who sells his skills to the highest bidder. Not many know his true identity; in the world of assassins, he is known only as the Fireman.

Volug

A wolf laguz in the service of Nailah, Queen of Hatari. Reticent in the extreme, he is rarely heard to speak. He is capable of shifting into wolf form whenever he chooses.

Yune

The goddess of chaos. She is both sister and polar opposite to the goddess Ashera. Imprisoned in Lehran’s Medallion as an evil god, she was freed when Micaiah sang the galdr of release. She helps Micaiah and Ike rescue the beorc and laguz who have been turned to stone.

Zelgius

The commander of Begnion’s Central Army. He is Sephiran’s confidant and one of the finest swordsmen in the land. In the Mad Kings War, he led the Begnion arms to Crimea’s aid.

Zihark

A traveling mercenary swordsman. For reasons known only to himself, he has an affinity for laguz. He’s working with Tauroneo to revive Daein.
