Recently, Japanese retailers have started taking pre-orders for a wave of new Fire Emblem merchandise arriving some time this August.
First up, we have a collection of 6 cutesy acrylic keyrings featuring the key characters from Fire Emblem Heroes (pun not intended). A box of 6 will set you back 3,888 Yen, which is around 35 USD.
Fans of Heroes with an iPhone may also appreciate the 2-way smartphone case, which will help keep your phone safe during intense strategical bouts. The case by itself costs 4,104 Yen.
For those who desire a more luxurious experience, there’s also a limited edition that includes a hand strap and a snazzy microfibre cloth. This one costs 5,400 Yen, which is around 49 USD.
After a drought of news regarding Fire Emblem Cipher, a few interesting tidbits have been recently revealed. Just today, Dengeki Nintendo tweeted a new promo card of Chrom from Awakening will be released in their upcoming June issue!
The magazine will be released on April 21st and can be pre-ordered from Amazon Japan here. As usual, each issue comes with two copies of the card. There is no indication that the matching issue of Nintendo DREAM will include a promo card, however.
Additionally, the @FECipher twitter account recently revealed a beautiful piece of artwork featuring Rinea and Berkut from Fire Emblem Echoes.
The image was showcased to promote the upcoming Cipher Summer Livestream, which will broadcast live over NicoNico on May 13th. Hibiki Yamamura, Rinea’s voice actress, will be a guest on the show. As usual, Ryota Kawade and Young will be hosting.
If Cipher follows its typical schedule, daily card reveals for Series 9 will likely start the week before the livestream, if not sooner. Once daily reveals begin, so will our weekly Cipher set coverage, so stay tuned!
On Thursday, March 16th, Series 8 of Fire Emblem Cipher was released to the public! A welcome blend of old game and new, the set focuses on characters from both Awakening and the second generation of Genealogy of the Holy War.
For once, Chrom gets to be the star of Awakening, earning himself a top-billed slot and two SR cards. His first SR is a gorgeous shot of him ascending to the position of Exalt as illustrated by Kotaro Yamada.
His other SR is quite a bit darker, showing how Chrom might be in an alternate world where he and Robin fail in their plans to defeat Grima. This Chrom, dubbed the Undead King of Despair, wears a smug expression and wields a corrupted Falchion as he rules over a ruined city.
This past Saturday, Ryota Kawade, Eri Suzuki, and Young hosted the latest installment of the Fire Emblem Cipher Livestreams. The focus of this weekend’s livestream was the upcoming release of Series 8 which falls this week on March 17th.
The beginning of the livestream focused on some non-Cipher news that’s already been covered in depth in separate articles, including merchandise from the Faith & Recollection concert, and some new art for Fire Emblem Echoes. Otherwise, we got our first glimpses at some of the goodies that will be included in S8 booster boxes.
The preview promo cards for S9 are of Alm and Celica, made with their new Echoes official art by Hidari. Each card is also packaged with a holographic marker card. Alm’s marker card comes with Cipher artwork of some of the main Lords, while Celica’s uses pixel Lord art. The art was previously used on merchandise from Comiket 91.
