Three Hopes: Character & Class Profiles from Twitter

Following the release of the Mysterious Mercenary trailer for Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, the official Japanese Twitter account has been regularly tweeting commentary for the trailer.

Although most of the information is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory, there are a few interesting nuggets. Namely, they’ve recently shared profiles for some of the already shown characters and classes. (For the record, some of this info was already shared by Famitsu.)

Below are translations of those tweets.

Regarding the class profiles, the second half is likely referring to each character’s personal abilities. Judging by the information from Famitsu.

Also, we’ve repeated the protagonist’s and Arval’s profiles from a previous article, for convenience.

Protagonist (default name Shez)

VA: Tasuku Hatanaka & Miyu Tomita
A solitary mercenary. They sought to become a famed swordfighter, but faced Jeralt’s Mercenaries on a mission and was felled by the Ashen Demon. While training to seek revenge, they met the Officer’s Academy students in the woods.

Protagonist x Fleugel

Here are some action scenes featuring the protagonist’s exclusive class. Characterised by its nimble swordplay while dual wielding swords. The protagonist also has other hidden powers. Please look out for more details in the future.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Announced, Releasing 24th June 2022

In today’s Nintendo Direct, we started with a bombshell: Fire Emblem is getting a second Musou (Warriors) game. Seeing as Koei Tecmo did assist with making Three Houses, it’ll be quite the graceful spin from Fire Emblem fare to Warriors fare.

With Age of Calamity‘s massive success for Zelda, not to mention modest success for the original Fire Emblem Warriors, KT and Nintendo saw fit to give us a Three Houses Warriors in a similar vein.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes releases on 24th June 2022 globally. It can be pre-ordered from the eShop right now.

The game weighs at 15.6 GB. Various text languages are included* and there will be English and Japanese dual audio. There is 2 player multi-player (requires 1 Joy-Con each). The Switch Pro Controller is supported.

* German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Some languages aren’t available in the physical release (maybe they need to be downloaded?).

Digital editions of the game come with an “Owl Perch” bonus. An owl will appear in your personal quarters; talking to it will give you an Owl Feather, used for gaining support points with allies. This is not included with the physical edition, but may be offered for purchase later on (as DLC).

Japan and Europe, at least, will be receiving limited edition bundles. Both include the game itself, an artbook, tapestry map, set of 5 acrylic figures and a character postcard set.

More details on the Japanese side of things can be found on the game’s official website.

Heroes: Fallen Heroes come in the new Forces of Will Banner, starting May 7

It’s been an expectation since shortly after the release of Fire Emblem Three Houses, but now it’s finally upon us; the Forces of Will Fallen Heroes banner brings Edelgard and Dimitri into the fray, as well as both male and female Morgans from the Fire Emblem Awakening series (specifically, the DLC).

This banner boasts not only powerful-looking units, but powerful skills on those units. Among these skills includes the return of Armored Stride 3, Dive-Bomb 3 and Odd Tempest 3, as well as the new and presumably inheritable C -Menace skills, which appear to be a hard buff+debuff variant to the -Rein skills ‘in combat’ style of debuff.

Additionally, there is a new Tier 4 A skill in the -Ideal line, which applies combat buffs based on HP being full, [Bonus] being present on unit, or if both conditions are met, the buffs provided by each check. Furthermore, both Dimitri and Edelgard come with mighty PRF B-skills in Murderous Lion and Armored Wall, respectively, with Murderous Lion being effectively a Canto +1 & Firesweep Solo skill for an infantry unit, and an improved Special Fighter skill packaged with a Dark Creator Sword and Sol Lance effect (in a once-per-turn 40% damage reduction and a 7 HP after combat effect). I won’t even get started on any of their weapons, all of which include hefty descriptions that you can see below in full detail.

To keep the news rolling, the upcoming reward unit will be Orson, from Fire Emblem Sacred Stones. If you’re unfamiliar, he’s been seen in game as a cavalry unit, wielding either a Silver Lance or a Runesword, so commence speculation. W should also be noted is not only the one time Spark on the 40th summon, but also the Celestial Stone item, which is earned after 40 summons, and can be exchanged for valuable resources including the illustrious Forma Soul (equivalent for one free unit from the Forma Halls events).

Dimitri, Edelgard and the Morgans will be available for summoning starting on May 7 at 12a PT, following the next Version Update.
