Heroes: Eirika: Graceful Resolve Trailer, Water Blessing Quests, & FE6/FE10 Heroes Announcement

The twin princess of Renais finally becomes a Legendary Hero in Fire Emblem Heroes! Check out the trailer for Eirika: Graceful Resolve here:

Legendary Eirika is somewhat similar to the Legendary version of her brother. Her promotion item, the Lunar Brace, is now a unique B skill. She also gets a special version of her own personal weapon, the Storm Sieglinde. Both this weapon and her A skill, Atk/Spd Solo, give Eirika benefits for charging into enemy territory and fighting alone. You can also see a full text breakdown of her skills below.

Like all legendary heroes, Eirika: Graceful Resolve will be arriving in a special banner with a 8% 5★ rate. The other 11 heroes appearing in this banner are: Flying Olivia, Summer Tana, Legendary Ephraim, Sumia, Bride Ninian, Legendary Lyn, M!Grima, Bride Sanaki, Legendary F!Grima, Innes, and Genny. The banner starts tomorrow!

If you need more Orbs to summon all of these characters, Heroes has you covered. New Water Blessing Quests begin today! You can earn five Orbs along with some Hero Feathers and other items by completing tasks with Water Blessed units. These quests will last for 14 days, ending on 13 November.

Additionally, Heroes has acknowledged the feedback they’ve been receiving about some games. Specifically, many players have noted the lack of new characters from Binding Blade and Radiant Dawn. FE6 in particular hasn’t seen a new summonable character since Klein appeared in the Sibling Bonds focus that started back in February of 2017!

Sadly, summoners are going to have to keep waiting quite some time for these heroes. The game announced that new Radiant Dawn heroes will be coming in January 2019, while Binding Blade heroes will be arriving in March 2019. In the meantime, any RD or BB characters we see will be seasonal alts of existing characters at best.

As pointed out in the announcement, this is because it does take a fairly long amount of time to add new heroes. Characters have to be designed, programmed, drawn, and then voiced in both English and Japanese before they can be released. The heroes coming out in the next few months were likely begun quite some time ago.

However, this is at least a good reminder that Heroes does listen and respond to feedback. If there are things you don’t like about the game or that you would like to be added, reach out to them! You can submit feedback in-game, or e-mail the Heroes support team directly via [email protected].

Heroes Opinion: When Too Many Lyns is a Bad Thing…

Recently, a new wave of disdain has hit Fire Emblem Heroes, thanks to the introduction of a Legendary variant of Lyn. Although it’s not quite as severe as the incident with Ayra last year, I still believe it’s worth looking into.

The culprit this time is a certain noblewoman from Sacae.

Firstly, I’ll just briefly outline the facts, especially for those unfamiliar with Heroes.

On 27th April, a few days ago, Nintendo/Intelligent Systems revealed the latest Legendary character as usual. Near the end of each month, there is a Legendary summoning event featuring one new Legendary Hero and 11 existing rare/powerful Heroes.

The very first two Legendary Heroes were original characters, but recent Legendary Heroes are basically “ultimate” versions of existing characters, although they aren’t necessarily the strongest units in the game. For some people, they are nothing more than additional variants.

Reactions to Legendary Lyn have been divided to say the least.

This month’s new Legendary Hero is Lyn: Lady of the Wind, with a new Green Bow weapon type. As soon as Legendary Lyn was revealed, a large part of the community was in a uproar.

At the time of writing, the English reveal trailer has a 2:1 like/dislike ratio, while the Japanese trailer has a 1:1 ratio (although this may be partially due to online campaigning). Previous trailers have a typical 10:1 ratio (which makes sense as you can’t please everyone).

For reference, poor Ayra never received a trailer, so it’s impossible to directly compare the two situations. However, my gut feeling is that the situation was far more grave in the past.

Heroes Opinion: Ayra Sets a Dangerous Precedent

This week in Fire Emblem Heroes was like any other. A new summoning event started, this time introducing heroes from the fan-favourite Genealogy of the Holy War–and fans were generally excited to see what was coming next.

Ayra from the story mode.

Today this excitement was mercilessly dashed for many, ironically by a very surprising and unprecedented move. A new Tempest Trials based on Holy War was teased, which was expected. The kicker: the summoning event released alongside it included a brand new and sought-after hero, Ayra: Astra’s Wielder.

Almost immediately, the Heroes community was flooded with disappointed and angry players. Previously, many of these same players openly praised the developers for making Heroes an enjoyable experience that’s friendly to non-spenders, a sentiment I share as well. So how did things end up this way and why the extreme reactions?

First of all, Ayra is a hugely popular character in some circles, being a strong and likable character from a well-liked game. She is essentially the progenitor of the badass and powerful swordswoman character found in later games. That said, although her popularity undeniably had an influence, worryingly, it is the least of the concerns.

Usability Feedback for Serenes Forest

Today marks the anniversary of the day we launched the new Serenes Forest site.

serenes-forest-2208-3

Although the site underwent some redesigns before then, it was still largely running off my awkwardly copied and pasted HTML code–basically the website equivalent of cardboard cutouts and duct tape.

Last year, thanks to Jyosua, Makaze and others who painstakingly re-structured the site and manually transferred literally thousands of pages (I’d wager around 5000+), we finally had a modern-looking and functioning site.

However evolution never stops and we’re well aware that the new site isn’t perfect. As such, we’re requesting feedback from you–users of our website–to help improve Serenes Forest and your experience of using it.

If you have a forum account and wish to provide feedback, please head on over to this topic, created by Amielleon. Thanks in advance!
