Heroes: Version 5.8.0 Details (Turn 1 Safety Fence for Aether Raids)

Today, we have more details for Version 5.8.0 of Fire Emblem Heroes, which is scheduled for 3rd~4th August 2021.

Feh Pass Loyalty Perks

As outlined earlier, Feh Pass subscribers will receive a few additional benefits for maintaining a subscription over multiple months–namely more Summoner Support slots and free Trait Fruits and Dragonflowers.

For more details, please refer to our previous article.

Aether Raids

A new Safety Fence (O) structure will be added.

Until Turn X (where X is the structure’s Level), after the defensive team’s skills activate at the start of their turn, if the entire raiding party is outside the defensive team’s attack range or the entire raiding party is within 2 rows and 7 columns centred on the structure, the defensive team will immediately end its turn.

In Version 5.8.0, the max Level for the Safety Fence (O) is 1. It can be constructed using 500 Heavenly Dew.

Hopefully this should relieve some of the troublesome Turn 1 strategies used, such as the ones that rely on the 7th slot being danced.

Also, the following structures can be raised to Level 9:

  • Infantry School (O and D)
  • Armor School (O and D)
  • Flier School (O and D)
  • Cavalry School (O and D)

Furthermore, these songs can be purchased from the Aether Resort Concert Hall:

  • “Preparations: Pilgrimage” (Shadows of Valentia game)
  • “Battle: Destiny” (Thracia 776)

Heroes: Fjorm Stars in “Flower of Ice” Music Video!

The Fire Emblem Heroes team is continuing the Book II hype with another special video, this time featuring Fjorm singing her heart out.

“Flower of Ice” is performed by Cristina Vee Valenzuela, with English lyrics by Christian Nutt and original Japanese lyrics by Saori Kodama. Conveniently, there are multiple translations available via the captions.

If you’re curious, there’s also a Japanese version of the music video, with Chinese subtitles.

Unless I’ve misremembered, this is the first time we’ve seen Anna’s high-resolution 3D model as well.

Heroes: “Ice & Flame” Tempest Trials Series Follows On From Book II

The current Tempest Trials event that started in Fire Emblem Heroes today is slightly different to the norm. “Ice & Flame 1” continues from where Book II left off, with Fjorm encountering Nifl, the God of Ice.

For those who haven’t played Book II or need a recap, the FE Heroes team has created a special video just for you!

As its name suggests, “Ice & Flame 1” is the first of a multi-part series; it will be continued in “Ice & Flame 2”, available after the 5.8.0 update, which should arrive some time in August.

Because the story is important, the cutscenes from the “Ice & Flame” series will be added to the Event Recap once each respective Tempest Trials is over, regardless of whether players saw them or not.

Please continue for some screenshots from “Ice & Flame 1”, including our first look at Nifl!

Heroes: Special “Bridal Belonging” Heroes Revealed, Coming May 21 at 12a PT

It may have been teased just yesterday, but we sure didn’t have to wait long for the full reveal of the upcoming bridal-season units for 2019. This year brings us our third batch of bridal darlings, and surprisingly, we have a few new faces!

Yes, new faces Tanith and Sigrun, from the Tellius series (Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn), and Pent, from Elibe (Fire Emblem), join Fjorm‘s alt in the cast of the summonable quartet. With these new units, there are several new skills hitting the fray, including Fjorm’s Ground Orders 3, Tanith’s Harsh Command+, and Pent’s Pulse Smoke 3. Additionally, Fjorm’s weapon possibly introduces a new mechanic of skill simplification, with the [Isolation] ability.

For those familiar with Clarine and Klein already in the game (or from Fire Emblem: Binding Blade) Pent is their father, and his wife, Louise: Eternal Devotion (a Colorless Bow Cavalry), joins him as a Tempest Trials+ reward unit. They’re noted as being a pretty influential duo in their own game, as well as one of the only units that come with a pre-defined support rank, in the entire Fire Emblem franchise.

This batch of heroes will be available for summon on May 21 at 12a PT, and of course, they’ll come with a set of paralogue chapters that provide Summoners with precious Orbs with which to summon them with (or save, of course). They’ll be available for 30 days, so don’t fret if you can’t get them immediately.
