Path of Radiance Available on Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Music

First teased back in April 2025, Path of Radiance is finally available on the Nintendo Switch 2’s GameCube app, for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscribers.

Update: On the 12th, they finally added the trailer on YouTube. Previously, you could only watch it from the Nintendo Switch 2.

The original game came out over 20 years and it’s also where our namesake comes from.

In addition, the Path of Radiance soundtrack is now available on the Nintendo Music app for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. All 64 tracks from the game’s sound room are represented. Be sure to listen to “Life Returns!”

Nintendo Music Adds Awakening & Blazing Blade NSO Icons

Got two small bits of Fire Emblem news today.

The Nintendo Music app has updated with music from Fire Emblem Awakening. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can listen to 92 tracks from the game, including music from the DLC.

Also, icons from Blazing Blade can be redeemed from the Nintendo Switch Online app, by playing Blazing Blade on the GameBoy Advance app (Expansion Pass only). But only until 7th October 2025.

The Sacred Stones Added to NSO+ & Engage Added to Nintendo Music!

We have a double dose of Fire Emblem news today, just days after the series’s 35th anniversary.

Firstly, The Sacred Stones is finally available on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass.

The Expansion Pass debuted back in 2023, with both Binding Blade and Blazing Blade becoming available a few months later in June 2023 (the former only on the Japanese app).

Next, the soundtrack for FE Engage has been added to the Nintendo Music app (requires NSO).

You can listen to a whopping 182 tracks. At a glance, these appear to be all the songs from Disks 1~7 of the official soundtrack plus “The Journey Is Finally…”, “Emblem Engage! [English Ver]” and “Fiery Bonds [English Ver]” from the bonus disk.

Path of Radiance Coming to NSO Expansion Pass, for Nintendo Switch 2

Sadly, no new Fire Emblem game was announced during today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. However, Nintendo hasn’t completely forgotten about us.

It was explained that Nintendo Switch Online will be compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, GameCube games will be added to the Expansion Pass, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. One of the featured games was Path of Radiance, although a release date for it wasn’t provided.

At launch, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Soul Calibur II and F-Zero GX will be available. These GameCube games will also have “clearer image quality and higher resolution” compared to the original releases.
