Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore: Welcome to Fortuna Entertainment (+New Japanese Ads)

Can you believe that Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore is out just three weeks from now?

Nintendo from Japan is sure to remind us by launching a make-believe company profile page for Fortuna Entertainment, the production agency and hidden base of operations for the protagonists in Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Fortuna and its productions may not be real, but the page is so impressively elaborate that it’s hard not to appreciate. So we decided to transcribe the page and its contents for your convenience.

But before we get into that further, Nintendo also recently shared two short Japanese web commercials giving a quick overall look at Encore and its combat system. Check them out!

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore European Overview Trailer & Analysis

Heads up everyone, it’s the Prince of Iris reporting in! I’ve been kindly invited to contribute to our site as a guest editor, and I’m happy to be here with my first article! Without further ado, read on!

Recently, Nintendo of Europe released a new trailer for Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore, the upcoming enhanced version of the game for Nintendo Switch. You can watch this trailer in higher quality on YouTube.

In the first few seconds, the trailer notes that Encore will only have Japanese voiceovers, just like the original Wii U game. There may have been hope or speculation from fans that this wouldn’t be the case with this new release and that there’d be English voiceovers this time around, but this small note appears to finally settle the matter.

As a reminder, new to Encore will be French text. This was already mentioned on the Nintendo eShop, but there’s supposed to be Chinese text available as well. Presumably, this can be adjusted through the Nintendo Switch system settings.

The trailer provides a first look at an all-new outfit for the character Touma, appearing during battle. This outfit never showed up in the Wii U version, but it appears to be based on his existing Ouga suit. I wonder what’s the story behind it…

It was detailed previously that there would be more costumes yet to be revealed. So this is one of them! What other new outfits could await the wardrobe?

Rumour: Cancelled Fire Emblem Remake for 3DS Could Live Again on Switch

It’s only been a few months since a new Fire Emblem game–Three Houses–was released, but there’s a possibility that the wait for the next title in the series might not be that long.

We think Genealogy of the Holy War and Binding Blade are the most likely candidates for a remake.

In a recent episode of “Kinda Funny Games Daily”, Imran Khan–former senior editor at Game Informer–casually mentioned that a Fire Emblem game was being produced for the Nintendo 3DS at one point, but was cancelled. However, he also speculated that this project could be revived for the Nintendo Switch.

I know there was another Fire Emblem remake in the works for 3DS and that was one of the things that they shuttered. So maybe that’s one of the things they’ll bring forward [to the Switch] in the future.

(Thanks to Nintendo Enthusiast and many others for the heads up!)

His comments were a follow up to a recent article by Wall Street Journalist author Takashi Mochizuki who claimed that Nintendo wants more 3DS-like games created for the Nintendo Switch and also the recent announcement that “Mario & Luigi” developer AlphaDream would be going bankrupt.

(Via Games Radar and Polygon.)

It seems that one of the triggers for the game’s cancellation was the poor sales of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story on Nintendo 3DS in February 2019. This caused Nintendo to re-evaluate their Nintendo 3DS projects, leading to the cancellation of the purported Fire Emblem remake.
