Warriors: Awakening Trailer, TGS Tease, Website Update + Famitsu Analysis

Today, the Fire Emblem Warriors Twitter posted another action-packed trailer, this one featuring all the currently-revealed warriors from Awakening.

The trailer is advertised as “number 1”, so presumably there will be similar trailers for the Fates and Shadow Dragon cast.

Moving on, Warriors will be coming to TGS (Tokyo Games Show) in Japan between 21st to 24th September. Of note, it will be showcased on Koei Tecmo’s main stage and livestreamed on Niconico on all four days.

According to the stage schedule, there will be announcements of new hero(es) on the 21st and 23rd. Various voice actors, such as for Marth, Xander and Lianna will be present. The other days will feature gameplay and other new information.

Following the release of this week’s Famitsu, the game’s official Japanese website has updated with profiles for male Corrin, Elise and Sakura, as well as screenshots of the badge/emblem and forging systems. Read more

Warriors: Hinoka, Camilla, Leo and Takumi confirmed

Coming to you from Gamescom, here are some more character reveals for Fire Emblem Warriors, we have Camilla, Leo, Hinoka and Takumi from Fire Emblem Fates.

Interestingly enough Sakura & Elise are absent, does this mean they won’t be joining the fray? Or perhaps they are being saved for later.

Also according to the UK version of the trailer, the west is getting the game on October 20th.

Update

Nintendo UK has revealed a Limited Edition that includes the game, a 3-disk soundtrack and character art cards. Oddly, it’s missing the artbook from Japan’s equivalent Premium Box.

Echoes: This Week’s Pre-release Videos

In just over a week, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is set to arrive in the West. To keep you occupied for a bit, here’s a recap of this week’s videos and trailers in case you missed them.

Firstly, GameXplain has uploaded two new videos of the English version, including 45 minutes of gameplay from Act 2–the start of Celica’s journey.

We see Celica leaving the Priory on her journey to the Temple of Mila, along with her close friends Mae and Boey (and Genny if you choose to drag her along), and the footage ends after the first sea battle.

Of note, Dracozombies have apparently been renamed to “Necrodragons”, which is neat, although the timing is a bit odd. Similarly, the villainous Dach who’s seized control of Zofia’s seas is now “Barth” (not to be confused Barthe from Binding Blade).

Note: Past here, there are some mild lore spoilers.

Nintendo shows ‘A Master Class in Strategy’ for English Echoes

Today, Nintendo launched a new video for Echoes, as a counterpart to the Japanese introduction trailer which we analysed here (do note some theories have changed since the game’s Japanese release).

The trailer begins by going briefly over the childhood connection between the two protagonists–Alm and Celica–before heading into gameplay territory.

We see the world map system, which those of you familiar with The Sacred Stones and Awakening etc. will be very at home with. You can move around and fight wandering enemy parties or advance the plot at your pace. Then we get a class roll call

Dread Fighter, which made its debut in Gaiden is here in full force; it’s the 3rd tier in the Mercenary line and provides quite a bit of Resistance. Unlike its recent appearances in Awakening and Fates, it’s locked to swords. Read more
