Chapter 11x: Murder Hollace

Opening Cutscene

Kempuf:
“Bishop Oltoph, the enemy is apparently the survivors of Lenster. And their leader is Prince Leaf, who escaped from Manster. I must report this matter to the Imperial General Headquarters, so I want you stay here and buy time.”

Oltoph:
“But General Kempuf, the enemy has already broken in. I don’t see how we can last much longer…”

Kempuf:
“Hmm… We have no choice but to use our last resort, then. …Murder Hollace.”

Oltoph:
“…Murder Hollace… …So you are ordering us to our deaths?”

Kempuf:
“All you have to do is kill the enemy before they kill you. Of course, you’ll have to be prepared for the worst…”

Oltoph:
“As you wish… I have no choice if it is an order…”

Kempuf:
“Don’t forget to kill off the prisoners as well. They’ll be a nuisance if they escape.”

Oltoph:
“Yes…”

Kempuf:
“Good. I promise that your deaths will not be in vain.”

Oltoph:
“……”

(Note: Murder Hollace is a plan where you trap yourselves and the enemy in a single room and fight them to the death. Since there’s no escape, you have no choice but to keep fighting until either your side or the enemy side has been completely decimated. Hence the name, “Murder” Hollace.)

(Scene switches to Olwen)

Boy:
“You, you’re an Imperial soldier! You monster! Have you come to kill us!?”

Olwen:
“…No. I was captured… What are you doing in a place like this?”

Girl:
“Our village was attacked…and the soldiers brought us here… What’s going to happen to us…?”

Boy:
“What’s going to happen to us? We’re going to sacrificed to the dark god, that’s what! We’ll all be sent to Barhara and executed… My sister was taken there and never returned…”

Girl:
“No! I want to go home! I want to see Mommy and Daddy…”

Olwen:
“This… This is the child hunting? I heard rumors, but I never thought they were actually doing it… This is terrible… Is this… Is this what my country has been doing!?”

Girl:
“Please! Please help us! Bring us home!”

Olwen:
“Yes, don’t worry. I won’t let them touch you. …I’ll protect you with my life.”

2nd Turn

Fred:
“Lady Olwen! Where are you? Please answer me!”

Olwen:
“Fred? He came… Fred! I’m in here! There are children with me! But be careful of Kempuf’s troops!”

30th Turn

Oltoph:
“Hmph, I’m not following an order that I know will lead to my death. I have something to report to the commander. I must go see him.”

Soldier:
“Then I shall…”

Oltoph:
“No, it has to be me! I’ll leave the rest to you.”

Soldier:
“……”

Conversation (Leaf, Olwen)

Leaf:
“Thank you for rescuing the children. But who are you?”

Olwen:
“And you are?”

Leaf:
“I am this army’s leader. …Leaf.”

Olwen:
“Leaf? The prince of Lenster? I… I am Olwen, a Mage Knight of Freeji.”

Leaf:
“Freeji? Then why did you…”

Olwen:
“Where should I start… Actually…I’m a little confused since so much has happened so quickly… Prince Leaf, would it be all right if I stayed with your army for a while? Until I get things straight…”

Leaf:
“I don’t mind… But I’ll have to talk to Dorias and August about it first. Could you wait until the end of the battle?”

Olwen:
“Yes. I’m sorry for being a burden.”

Conversation (Fred, Olwen)

(If Leaf has already spoken to Olwen)

Olwen:
“Fred, I have decided to join these people. You are now free to go…”

Fred:
“Nonsense, Lady Olwen! I am your lieutenant. I will always respect and follow your judgment.”

Olwen:
“Fred… Thank you.”

(If Leaf hasn’t spoken to Olwen)

Fred:
“Lady Olwen!”

Olwen:
“Thank you, Fred…”

Fred:
“Thank goodness you’re all right. Let’s escape… …Is something wrong? You look pale…”

Olwen:
“Fred… What have we been fighting for all this time?”

Fred:
“Lady Olwen…?”

Olwen:
“What have I been doing? Helping the Empire snatch innocent children away from their families? Or helping them send the children to Barhara to be sacrificed?”

Fred:
“Lady Olwen…”

Olwen:
“I… I never had any hesitations about my job until now. I thought that I would always be doing the right thing just as long as I was following my brother. But now… Now, I don’t know any more! I can’t believe in anything! What should I do…?”

Fred:
“…What I can say is that your place is no longer in the Empire. Lady Olwen, let’s join Prince Leaf’s army.”

Olwen:
“Prince Leaf’s? But they have always been our enemy…”

Fred:
“I know Prince Leaf personally. Our ideals are much closer to his than the Empire’s. Let’s go, Lady Olwen. We can find what you have lost sight of in his army!”

Olwen:
“…All right… Let’s go.”

Fighting Oltoph

Oltoph:
“You won’t pass any further!”

Defeating Oltoph

Oltoph:
“Glory be to Freeji…”

Releasing Oltoph

Oltoph:
“This is how Lenster fights…? Perhaps I was wrong…”

After beating the map

Leaf:
“There were children held captive here, too… I understand why the people of Tahra are resisting.”

Dorias:
“Exactly. But the Empire is desperate as well. If they let Tahra go, other areas will begin to rebel as well. They have gathered legions from all over just to crush one city, to show the people what happens to rebels. There are even rumors that the Gelpritter has been summoned from the Imperial capital.”

Leaf:
“Gelpritter… The Freeji family’s personal guards.”

Dorias:
“Yes, they are a group of Mage Knights centering around elites of the Freeji family. They are one of the strongest armies on the continent. Their leader is Queen Ishtar, feared by many as the Thunder Goddess. And her first in command, Lord Rinehart, is an honorable warrior said to be the second coming of the Holy Warrior Tode.”

August:
“You call a man who helps kidnap children honorable?
Hmph…this is the problem with you knights. You know nothing of reality.”

Dorias:
“What did you say? What don’t I know, August?”

August:
“Rinehart is Queen Ishtar’s first guard. Ishtar is Prince Yurius’
lover. And Yurius is said to be an incarnation of the dark god, Lopto. They are all servants of Lopto… They are leading this world to destruction.”

(The following part ensues if Olwen has joined)

Olwen:
“No! My brother… Rinehart is not a servant of Lopto!”

August:
“…Who are you?”

Olwen:
“Olwen… I am Rinehart’s sister…”

Leaf:
“I allowed her into our army.”

August:
“I see. Very well… Then open your eyes and look carefully. See for yourself what the Empire really is…”
