Mechanics

Emblems are heroes from other worlds who reside in Emblem Rings.

Syncing with Emblems

By equipping their Emblem Ring, characters can gain boosted stats and access to some of the Emblem’s skills (known as Sync skills). You can equip/swap Emblem Rings during battle preparations. All characters can equip all Emblem Rings.

When a character has equipped an Emblem, the Emblem will appear alongside them during battle. The Emblem does not fight directly, but offers support via their boosted stats and Sync skills.

Engaging with Emblems

Characters can also Engage (combine) with their Emblem to unlock the Emblem’s weapons and additional skills (known as Engage skills).

Every Emblem has an extremely powerful Emblem attack that can be used once per Engage.

Engaging lasts for 3 turns by default. Afterwards, the character will disengage and they must build up their depleted Engage gauge (by performing actions) if they want to Engage again.

Bonding with Emblems

As characters fight together with Emblems, they can gain Bond experience. Earn enough Bond experience and their Bond Level will increase. The higher the Bond Level, the more skills and perks available.

At certain Bond Levels, you can unlock short Bond conversations between the character and their Emblem. Viewing these will further increase their Bond Level.

Borrowing from Emblems

Upon reaching Bond Level 5 with an Emblem, the character can inherit certain skills from that Emblem by selecting Inherit Skills at the Ring Chamber. Available skills include some of the Emblem’s Sync skills, plus related skills.

It costs SP to inherit skills. SP can be obtained by fighting alongside Emblems.

Characters can equip up to 2 inheritable skills.

Powering up Emblems

At the Ring Chamber, you can enhance the Engage weapons belonging to each Emblem.

These require crystals earned from Tempest Trials (offline) or Relay Trials (online) at the Tower of Trials.

Taking Care of Emblems

At the Ring Chamber, you can select Polish Rings to clean any Emblem Rings that have gotten dirty after battling. With all the help the Emblems provide, it’s the least you can do.
