amiibo and Online Features

amiibo

Three Houses supports amiibo figures, although not in the same capacity as Fates or even Echoes. Within the monastery, there’s an amiibo Gazebo towards the eastern side. Here, you can scan in amiibo to receive random items and other bonuses.

From what we’ve seen, the items are restricted to those used in the monastery, so things like ingredients, seeds, etc. Also, the effects of scanning an amiibo are applied to all save files, so you can’t copy and delete save files to “cheat” the system.

Scanning a Fire Emblem series amiibo will also unlock classic music for use during auxiliary (optional) battles.

Online Features

If you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, you can enjoy some additional features when connected to the Internet. Unlike Fates, there is no online (or local) multi-player.

Note: It seems you can turn off online features from the menu.

Global Activity

During weekends, when you have the option to choose Explore, Battle, Seminar or Rest, the percentage of other players who chose those options will be displayed. Since those options are mutually exclusive, this can help you choose if you’re undecided.

Also, when the game is loading, you can see the most successful class exams for that month.

Lost Spirits

In battle maps, you may encounter glowing spots called “Lost Spirits”. These are places where other players faced great difficulty. Purple spirits grant items, while yellow spirits grant experience points and restore weapon durability.

Exchange Students

While exploring the monastery, students from other people’s games may appear as “exchange students”. You can talk to them to buy an item for a discounted price, play two versions of a mini-game (details currently unknown) or hire them as an Adjutant for the Pair Up system.
