Nintendo recently visited Snell Hall in Toronto, to promote Fire Emblem Fates’ impending release with a hype event of their own.
Nintendo offered pre-release plays on numerous 3DSs and even gave out 100 T-shirts to early visitors.
Lines were long, and turnout was great. I did get to speak to reddit user /u/AerisIsDead, and got a brief synopsis of the event:
“I showed up 3 hours early and there was already a line. The staff wore Revelation shirt and gave away t-shirts for the first 100 attendees. Red tee for Birthright and purple tee for Conquest. When I went inside there were multiple charging stations and booths with N3DS XL waiting for us to try the game. 3 people per station with a time limit of approx. 20 minutes. The demo included chapter 10 and a few other battles and a paralogue. There were some amiibo and sword replicas and projectors with Fire Emblem Fates gameplay and intro playing. By the time I got outside, the line up was still present at 7pm. The event would last until 9pm.”

There were some neat Falchion replicas on hand and other goodies to check out. It sounds like a pretty fun event, and we hope that more like this come up internationally!
