Cipher S20 Pre-Release Livestream Recap: New S20 Cards, S21 Art, & S22 Titles Revealed!

Welcome to our recap of the Series 20 Pre-Release episode of the regularly scheduled show about Fire Emblem Cipher, where Intelligent Systems broadcasts news about the Japanese trading card game.

New card artwork of Hector (and Lilina) from Blazing Blade, shared by the official Twitter account, @FEcipher, shortly before the show.

We’ll be touching on the highlights of the livestream for all your Cipher needs, so continue reading to learn more.

The show opens with Mr. Kawade, Kubocchan, and Juri Kimura onstage and ready to begin the program.

After Ms. Kimura was asked to voice a new card of Nyx (not pictured), Kubocchan gave us a quick look at another character she voices: Yuzu, who now appears as a Sorcerer.

Here we’re given a quick reminder about the release of a particular merchandise releasing in Japan around this time, the new wave of Three Houses acrylic keychains by empty. Featured are the enlightened Byleths and characters affiliated with the Church of Seiros. If you’re interested in importing any of these, they are available on AmiAmi.

Now, let’s talk about the new booster!

By now we should all know, The Guiding Hand of Dawn is out on the 19th, and features FatesPath of Radiance, and Radiant Dawn.

The group gives us a look at the goodies you can potentially find in each booster box. From pre-release promo cards, special marker cards, and unique card sleeves.

Among the first card unpackings, we spotted new cards of Leonardo, Scarlet, and Nina.

As previously announced, there will be an official launch campaign where buying Cipher products, including the new booster box, will net you a special can badge of male or female Corrin or Micaiah from select retailers. The full details can be found on the official site.

Here’s the lineup of the promotional cards to be distributed at participating stores and events via Promo Pak 20 starting next month! In these special card packs, you can find MicaiahFloraRyomaXanderNino, or female Byleth. The full details can be found on the official site.

Another reminder about the national qualifiers and the Quest Battle Party events which we’ve covered before. Note that the first venue was recently delayed (April 26th was moved to May 30th) and this actually does not reflect that. Peony and Triandra are promos for those who participate here, and now we see their card data for the first time.

A very special guest shows up for our next segment: it’s Hisako Kanemoto, voice of Sakura from Fates.

Sakura has been around in Cipher for quite a while, and this new set still gives us new surprises. Here, Ms. Kanemoto voices the Maid Sakura card which releases soon.

Your boy Fresh Mitani is back to load us with card packs for what is effectively a little challenge. The more Sakura cards they pull from the booster packs, the more milestones they reach and little prizes from Ms. Kanemoto. Kubocchan would humor her with icebreaker questions like whether she’d prefer riding a pegasus or a dragon.

Early on as they’re working towards this, Mr. Kawade pulled the first SR+ card of Elincia and HR card of Azura.

Later, Mr. Kawade pulls the first cards of Reina, Saizo, Mitama (previously spotted before today’s stream), Sothe (being the last Tellius SR), Meg, Heather, Soren, Jill, Gunter, and Aran.

When they hit 80 Sakuras pulled, they challenged Ms. Kanemoto to read off a choice set of character quotes.

During the fan mail segment, they gave away a special Sakura playmat to one lucky winner.

And now for the latest and greatest from Cipher.

Those who participate in Cipher Arena tourneys know that playing well wins you a special playmat. Not only are they introducing a new one with Byleth, they’re changing up the rules and making it easier to earn them, starting in April.

On June 25th, get ready for a new booster featuring Three Houses, Binding Blade, Blazing Blade, and Heroes. Here are those who’ve been confirmed today to show up!

And in the distant future…prepare for Series 22 of Fire Emblem Cipher, featuring all of the following titles:

Everyone is here!

And that’s the show! With the launch of Series 20 in just a few more days, Cipher updates from us will be pacing a bit more relaxed for now. In lieu of another weekly recap, look forward to a post all about the release next week. Until then, keep checking the official Twitter for more daily showcases of the newest cards.

Feel free to visit our forums to talk about Cipher if you have any questions or are looking to share your love for the card game!
