Fire Emblem Fates: Map Pack 1

Map Pack 1 features 11 maps and additional content. These maps shine new light on the cast of characters from Fire Emblem Fates, as well as old favorites from the Fire Emblem Awakening game. Discover new background stories about these beloved warriors, while earning more experience points and exclusive weaponry. Every map offers specific challenges and unique rewards.

What’s most interesting is that Map Pack 1 seems to include all 11 maps from Series 1 and Series 2 of the Japanese DLC, which is consequently all the maps released so far.

At the time of writing, there hasn’t been any new DLC maps since the 11th map, Witch’s Trial, came out in Japan during October of last year, 3 months ago.

Yet the “1” at the end of “Map Pack 1” suggests there will be at least one more map pack, so the chances of additional Japanese (and Western) DLC are very high.

Of course, the signs were already there. Unlike Awakening, we still don’t have a 5-star difficulty map and there are a lot of skill scrolls (Paragon to Resistance Drain) that cannot currently be obtained.

I wonder if the Cipher characters will be distributed in the west somehow.

I’m honestly hoping for more DLC classes in the game – even if no more are coded in currently or at all, or even like a Fire Emblem series of Amiibo that detail the protagonists and antagonists, aside from the dragon bosses, though that would be cool too. Just an entire wave of units that you could train in Fates, but most of all, I want a Chrom based off of the one in Genei Ibun Roku #FE, like a Chrom Amiibo, and he has a special class that’s similar to the Dread Fighter of Awakening, and Great Lord. Imagine it, a class for Chrom that mixes his actually pretty good Magic Stat (48 w/ Limit Breaker in Awakening as a Dread Fighter), but also utilizes Swords and Lances.

So is Fates gonna get even more DLC in the future besides what’s already out in Japan?

At first was theorizing that it might be to allow the west to gain access to cipher units, but since I kept reading and saw that some skills are currently unobtainable, it does seem likely there will be more DLC. odd that they waited this long though

Does that mean I need to buy Brithright or Conquest to get Revelation?

    • Christina_Puck

      Yeah, you do.

Despite my reservations against Awakening, I bought all the DLC essentially doubling the price for the entire game. The DLC was…pretty ridiculously crappy now that I think about it, but oh well. I don’t think I’ll be wasting money on shoddily thrown together DLC this time, especially since I’m already paying so much to get the full version of the game on one cart (the LE).
