Cipher S21 Pre-Release Livestream Recap: New S21 cards and final set art!

Welcome to our recap of the Series 21 Pre-Release episode of the regularly scheduled show about Fire Emblem Cipher, where Intelligent Systems broadcasts news about the Japanese trading card game.

New card artwork of Raphael from Three Houses, shared by the official Twitter account, @FEcipher, shortly before the show.

We’ll be touching on the highlights of the livestream for all your Cipher needs, so continue reading to learn more.

We open our show with Mr. Kawade (left), Kubocchan (right), and Eri Suzuki (center), who are all communicating through long distance to respect each other’s health, and proceed to reintroduce the upcoming booster for anyone who needs to catch up to speed!

The new Fire Emblem Cipher expansion is a booster titled Tempest of Apocalyptic Flame and is out in stores June 25th in Japan, and will feature characters from Three HousesBinding BladeBlazing Blade, and Heroes.

As always, there’ll be a launch campaign where select vendors will give away a can badge to anyone who buys Cipher products, including the new booster. Furthermore, participating card shops will be hosting pack battles (essentially a sealed format for Cipher), and players can score exclusive items including marker cards. Full details can be found on the official site here and here.

While Mr. Kawade was unboxing a booster box, he showed us a few previously unseen cards, which we will share below.

We enter our next segment to introduce Toshiyuki Toyonaga, the Japanese voice of Claude from Three Houses. They have him voice one of his new autographed cards, though he was being a bit of a jokester about it!

Here’s a fun update! Staring next week, the Fire Emblem online shop will be updated with more Cipher merchandise, namely card sleeves and all-new playmats based on the Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude from Three Houses. They’ve also announced a second wave of returning Cipher merchandise which will be available to purchase from the shop beginning in July, like the Sing & Play! Heroic ABCs box set.

Here’s another look at more booster cards which are new or you might’ve missed in our recaps.

We have another intermission where our guests are quizzed on characters in the Cipher set, and choose between responses.

The following segment is where we get our fan mail, responding to the prompt of what fans liked about Three Houses. One lucky fan won themselves this unique playmat, featuring Dimitri and Claude. For the next episode, fans will be asked to tell our hosts which Cipher card artwork they like the most. According to Mr. Kawade, his favorite artwork is on one of the starter deck-exclusive Marth cards.

Here’s one last batch of new booster cards before we wrap up and segue to our final part!

Let’s talk about the latest with Cipher.

The next and final booster of the Fire Emblem Cipher trading card game is titled The Heroes’ Paean and is out on October 1st, featuring all of the following titles:

Who will be receiving cards in the very last booster to ever release? See for yourself below!

Finally, the grand reveal was made of everyone who would show up in the multi-card Super Rare panorama of the set! Please excuse the multiple images, as the whole thing is very long!

The heroes of Fire Emblem have gathered at last! Marth, Alm, Celica, Sigurd, Seliph, Leif, Roy, Eliwood, Eirika, Ephraim, Ike, Micaiah, Chrom, Lucina, Corrin, Alfonse, and Byleth!

That concludes today’s show. Hope you enjoyed it!

Feel free to visit our forums to talk about Cipher if you have any questions or are looking to share your love for the card game!

Fire Emblem Cipher’s next booster expansion set, Tempest of Apocalyptic Flame, will be available from Japan starting June 25th!

This update is part of the grand finale for Cipher, as it was previously discussed that 2020 will be the final year of new product releases. We will be sticking to the very end to follow what’s new with the trading card game and hope you will join us too!
