Today’s FE Heroes update is here, and it’s a nice addition to the rather small v.4.8.0 update we received earlier this month.
A shortlist of all of today’s additions to the game:
- CYL 4 Winners Banner (A New Future) is now available to summon from,
- This particular New Banner can be “Sparked” not once, but four times (you still need to summon 40 times between each Spark),
- One free Summon of any CYL4 Hero,
- Forging Bonds event featuring the four new CYL winners
- Dragonflower limit raised for all Heroes released before the 18th of August 2020 will be raised by 5. Specific details will be included below.
- New Main Story Chapter: Book IV, Chapter 10: “Lack“
First off, the new banner: “A New Future“!
Dimitri: King of Faerghus, Claude: Almyra’s King, Edelgard: Adrestian Emperor, and Lysithea: Earnest Seeker are now available to summon. You can click on “Read more” below to view their skills and level 40 base stats.
Don’t forget that you can “Spark” up to four times (each focus Hero once only), so use this to your advantage if you have the Orbs to do so and you want to secure yourself at least one copy of each (besides the free pull, of course).
As is tradition regarding CYL winners, you can also receive one of the new Brave Heroes of your choice for free!
If you plan to use Orbs and summon from the new banner, you should probably hold off on your free pick until you’re finished with the banner.
Also today: A new Forging Bonds event has begun featuring the four new Brave Heroes. Be aware that the event contains minor spoilers for events within the Three Houses game, but not so much that would sully your experience should you choose to play it for yourself.
Playing the event will net you up to four Free First Summon Tickets along with new accessories based on the four new Heroes, along with a total of 14 Orbs for daily participation.
Click on “Read more” below to view information on the new Heroes as well as information regarding the Dragonflower limit increase.

Text breakdown of skills:
Dimitri: King of Faerghus
Type: Blue Lance Infantry
Voice: Chris Hackney
Weapon: Moon Gradivus – Unit can counterattack regardless of foe’s range. Grants Special cooldown charge +1 per foe’s attack during combat. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack. Special cooldown charge granted even if foe’s attack deals 0 damage.)
A: Atk/Def Unity – If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Def +5 and bonus to Atk/Def during combat = current penalty on each of those stats x2. (Example: If unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk +19 for a net bonus of Atk +12.) Calculates each stat bonus independently.
B: Blue Lion Rule – If unit’s Def > foe’s Def, reduces damage from attacks during combat and from area-of-effect Specials (including Rokkr area-of-effect Specials) by percentage = difference between stats x 4 (max 40%), and also if foe foe initiates combat, unit can make a guaranteed follow-up attack.
C: Joint Hone Atk
Claude: Almyra’s King
Type: Colorless Bow Flier
Voice: Joe Zieja
Artist: Wada Sachiko
Weapon: Wind Parthia – Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count -1). Effective against flying foes. If unit initiates combat or if unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res +5 during combat, and if unit also deals damage to foe using a Special, restores 50% of unit’s maximum HP. (Triggers even if 0 damage is dealt.)
A: Fury 4
B: Chill Spd/Def 2
C: Atk/Spd Rein 3 – Inflicts Atk/Spd -4 on foes within 2 spaces during combat.
Lysithea: Earnest Seeker
Type: Red Tome Infantry
Voice: Janice Roman Roku
Weapon: Dark Spikes T – Effective against cavalry foes. Grants Spd +3. At the start of combat, if foe’s HP >= 75%, grants Atk/Spd +6 during combat. If unit’s HP < 100% and unit initiates combat, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack before foe can counterattack.
A: Atk/Spd Push 4
B: Lull Spd/Res 3
C: Hone Spd 4
Edelgard: Adrestian Emperor
Type: Green Axe Armor
Voice: Tara Platt
Weapon: Flower Hauteclere – Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count -1). At start of turn, if unit’s HP >= 25%, unit can move 1 extra space (that turn only; does not stack) and grants the following status to unit for 1 turn: “Unit can move to a space adjacent to any ally within 2 spaces.” At the start of combat, if unit’s HP >= 25%, inflicts Atk/Def -6 on foe during combat.
A: Distant Ward
B: Black Eagle Rule – If unit’s HP >= 25%, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack, and also if foe initiates combat, damage received by foe’s follow-up attack is also reduced by 80%. (For standard weapons, “follow-up attack” means the second strike. For weapons that grant “unit attacks twice”, it means the third and fourth strikes.)
C: Joint Drive Res – Grants Res +4 to allies within 2 spaces during combat. If unit is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Res +4 to unit during combat.
Base stats of each new Hero at level 40 (HP, Atk, Spd, Def, Res, superboons and superbanes shown with + or – before the stat):

Finally for today, all Heroes released before the 18th of August 2020 (not including today’s Brave Heroes, who will have a maximum of 5 Dragonflower upgrades) will receive the ability to receive a maximum of 5 more Dragonflower upgrades on top of their previous number. For example:
Heroes who could be improved 10 times can now be improved 15 times. E.g., Year 1 and Year 2 Infantry units.
Heroes who could be improved 5 times can now be improved 10 times. E.g., Every single unit of all movement types that have ever been released before the 18th of August 2020, except for the above-mentioned units who already have a new limit of 15 Dragonflower upgrades.
The cost of these additional 5 levels will total to 600 Dragonflowers for all units, regardless of the total cost of their initial levels.
