Heroes: Voting Gauntlet: Shadow in the Mirror

A new event is now live in Fire Emblem Heroes! Voting Gauntlet: Shadow in the Mirror pits four heroes against their darker counterparts. Check out our earlier article for details.

As a reminder, you can find the Voting Gauntlet screen now located within the new Events page of the Battle menu. Each round of the Gauntlet lasts a little under two days, ending three hours before the daily reset. As usual, each round also brings new quests for you to earn up Battle Flags, Orbs, and other rewards.

The final round will end at 3:59am UTC on 8 March. May the best hero, or villain, win!

Who’s ready for some salt resulting from a still flawed system that does not actually favor the popular party but in many ways hurts them? AYE!! At least we get free stuff from the related quests.

Seeing things from the opposite point of view, a fixed points system would mean underdogs have a much lesser chance of victory, removing a potential source of enjoyment as the VGs are rather lackluster in general.

Before the system is fixed, there needs to be more incentive provided for voting aside from simple character appeal. I’m thinking either minor gameplay buffs or free copies (3-4 stars, helpful for 5 star-only units) of winners.

That is an excellent point, those early Voting Gauntlets in which Lucina and Camilla steamrolled the competition was not very enjoying, but the effort to make it more enjoyable by giving the underdog a constant point bonus simply results in a boring round of who’ll have the final bonus multiplier, which I argue is equally as boring.

So now IS needs to think of an incentive to push for balance, and I would love to see 3/4* versions given out; though it would have to be in a round dealing with only characters of worth while skills or utility since nobody is going to back, say, vanilla Robin who already is 3* obtainable when Fell Robin is likely to be 5* exclusive.

Piggy-backing off that idea, it would be fun to see them do a future Voting Gauntlet where the contestants are all popular 3/4* fodder units with the winner being given some special skill/weapon that makes them super meta relevant. Just imagine the potential of someone like Odin gaining some broken skill that suddenly makes him top tier.

Yeah that’s a cool concept. As far as I can remember all past winners except Shanna has gotten a special variation, although those characters were popular and were probably going to be given variations regardless. I don’t know much about the character, but Shanna: The Underdog sounds cool.

All hail the fell dragon, Grima!

  • Shenai

That’s team Robin for me for now then I guess. For me VG only comes down to one thing nowadays: Feathers!

…No clue who to join this time around, anyone wanna convince me to pick their team?

Fallen Takumi. Memes being the reasons

      • Main Account allegiance going once, going twice…SOLD! To Fallen Takumi for the memes!
Guess the Alt is going Grima then since they always fight on opposite sides of the bracket.

  • speedster

How about this IS? Have the top 4 of each VG be featured in the next special banner. Winner gets a prf. 2nd place gets a unique mobility class and weapon type combination. But only allow those to participate who don’t have a seasonal variant

i will forever remember the fight between Chrom and Ephraim as the pinnacle of the Voting Gauntlets.
