Fire Emblem Engage: Sigurd Tidbits via Twitter

A few days ago, Nintendo of America tweeted about Emblem Sigurd before the official Japanese Twitter did. However, today, they’ve caught up.

Sigurd’s profile:

Emblem Sigurd (VA: Toshiyuki Morikawa), also known as the Emblem of the Holy War, is a quintessential knight who has inherited the blood of the Crusaders.

Next, a battle:

This occurs in the verdant kingdom (Firene) map that appeared in the debut trailer. On this occasion, Sigurd is paired with Cramme (tentative name), the young boy mage and Framme’s older twin brother.

At this point, Cramme is Level 3, one Level lower than Alear in the same map. Which isn’t a big surprise since Alear is the protagonist and will probably be used slightly more.

We saw it earlier with Alfred in the debut trailer, but Sigurd boosts the character’s Movement stat, by 1 point, since Cramme has 5 movement versus 4 in his own showcase. Cramme moves 3 spaces to attack his foe. In case you missed it earlier, the options are: Engage, Attack, Inventory and Wait.

Cramme is attacking a Corrupted Lance Fighter (aka Soldier); likely the same one that Alear fought in the debut trailer. At the time, I wasn’t paying too much attention, but the naming of the Lance Fighter class suggests there could be similar classes like Axe Fighter (aka just Fighter) and Sword Fighter (Myrmidon). Perhaps even Bow Fighter (aka Archer)?

During the battle, Sigurd teleports to his foe when Cramme attacks.

After the battle, Cramme and Sigurd gain bond experience. Their bond level is 1 right now. If you thought extra Movement was busted, wait until you find out that Sigurd also grants Canto/Canter! Cramme can use his remaining 2 movement, to hide in a nearby Thicket (30 Avoid).

In addition, I don’t remember if we saw them earlier, but near the top-right corner, there’s an Axe Cavalry foe. Since we have armoured knights and pegasus knights with various weapons, it’s only naturally there’d be cavalry with different weapons too.

Finally, a conversation:

Like the showcases for Marth and Celica, the conversation is very brief. So there isn’t much to discuss, but it’s interesting how Sigurd compares Alear to a hypothetical son, given Sigurd eventually becomes a father.
