Cipher S6 Weekly Recap: First Daily Reveals & Other New Cards

Now that the Caravan Events have come to a close, the Fire Emblem Cipher team has turned its attention to the upcoming Series 6 release. The @fecipher twitter account has been active all week sharing new cards, starting with the Series’ headliner Lords: Sigurd from Genealogy of the Holy War and Xander from Fire Emblem Fates.

Sigurd’s artwork has been shown off a lot in promotional materials, but the card’s official release confirms that this card will be an exclusive to the S6 Structured Deck.

Xander’s card is completely new and it has some interesting text, including a reference to “Face-Up Orbs”. As this is not something that exists in the game’s current state, it is likely hinting at a new game mechanic, possibly related to the Dragon Vein mechanic that was teased in a recent interview with the Cipher producers.

Other cards revealed over Twitter this week include Forrest as a Butler, a Finn R holo card, and King Garon as both an R and an alternate art R+ card.

Garon’s card number is particularly worth pointing out. Villains tend to appear towards the end of the series order, usually right before the two cards dedicated to the mascot characters. However, Garon is number 92, which implies that there could be a larger number of villains or other NPCs printed in this set to fill up later spaces.

The Cipher website was also updated today with a new column from everyone’s favourite Cipher Mascots: Emma, Shade, Yuzu, and Lando. The article talks about the recent Caravan events and also shows off decks used by Ryota Kawade (Cipher Producer) and Hagi Michihiko (Ike’s Japanese VA) during their game matches.

Michihiko’s deck is an Ike deck, as should be expected, but Kawade’s deck uses a number of new S6 cards, which is why it hasn’t been shown off until now. New cards that can be seen in the deck photo include Erin (Ferry) and Arvis from Genealogy and Beruka and Peri from Fates.

More news and cards for S6 will also be revealed tomorrow during the Summer NicoNico Livestream event. If you’d like to watch the event live, you can find links and more information on the Cipher website. I will also be posting another article full of screencaps and other information from the livestream for anyone who misses out.

Cipher Series 6 will release in little over a month on September 29th. We’ll continue sharing new cards and artwork as they’re released in the meantime.
