Heroes: Echoes of Mystery Banner & Paralogues + Tempest Trial Bonus!

New Mystery of the Emblem has arrived in Fire Emblem Heroes! Echoes of Mystery contains a new Summoning Focus as well as a new set of Paralogue Maps and associated quests. Check out our earlier article for the character introduction trailer!

The Summoning Focus contains four new 5★ characters: Katarina, Roderick, Athena, and Luke. Roderick (“Rody” in the fan translation) and Luke originated in Mystery of the Emblem, whereas Athena and Katarina are remake-exclusive characters. Athena also appeared as a special side-story character in Shadow Dragon.

The Echoes of Mystery paralogue contains three new maps. Play each map on all three difficulties for up to nine Orbs! Playing the maps on Lunatic under certain conditions will net you an additional three Orbs. Quest details can be found below.

The paralogue maps also give us a look at some of New Mystery‘s villains: Legion (“Roro”) and Clarisse (“Kleine”). Both appear as enemies in the maps, and may soon be available in future Great Hero Battles as well.

The new banner and quests will be around for a little over two weeks until 30 June at 6:59am UTC.

Additionally, rewards have been given out for the Tempest Trials Kick-Off Event! Heroes players more than doubled the the 1-billion point goal, and as a result, all players get a bonus present of 10 Orbs and 5,000 Hero Feathers. Visit Feh to collect your rewards.

Heroes: New Mystery of the Emblem Banner Teased

A new Fire Emblem Heroes trailer has landed, showcasing four new Heroes from New Mystery of the Emblem who will appear in the game starting from tomorrow.

The new Heroes and their skills learnable at 5* are as follows:

  • Katarina – Wayward One: Raudrowl+, Glacies, Swift Sparrow 2, Atk Ploy 3 (At the start of the turn, all foes in cardinal directions with Res 1 or more lower than unit suffer Atk -5 until the end of foes’s next action.)
  • Roderick – Steady Squire: Firesweep L+, Rally Def/Res, Drag Back, Drive Def 2 (Grants allies within 2 spaces Def +3 during combat.)
  • Athena – Borderland Sword: Wo Dao+, Moonbow, Sturdy Blow (Grants Atk/Def+4 during combat if unit initiates combat.), Sword Exp. 3
  • Luke – Rowdy Squire: Brave Sword+, Bonfire, Fire Boost 3, Panic Ploy 3 (At the start of the turn, bonuses become penalties on all foes in cardinal directions with HP 1 or more lower than unit through foes’s next action.)

Furthermore, there will be a new Paralogue “Echoes of Mystery” and presumably new quests accompanying the banner. If you’re quick, you can even catch a glimpse of Legion, one of the villains added to the remake.

By the way, what’s rather curious is the choice of naming for the Paralogue. We know from the recent Dengeki interview that the developers would like to use the word “Echoes” for future remakes.

Even stranger, in the Japanese version of Heroes, this Paralogue is merely named “World of New Mystery”. This is complete speculation but could an official English translation of New Mystery be in the works? In any case, we do have Nintendo’s E3 spotlight later today…
