Heroes: Tempest Trials Event, Summon Focus, Xenologue, and Daily Bonus!

The new Tempest Trials event is now live in Fire Emblem Heroes! In addition to the new battle mode, we also get some daily Orbs, a new Paralogue, some quests, and a new Summoning Focus.

When you first open the game, you’ll notice that the four +40% Bonus Allies are featured in a new Summoning Focus, also called “Tempest Trials”. Summon a 5★ version of Tharja, Male Robin, Nowi, or Lucina to help you earn more points during the event!

If you need more Orbs to help you summon those characters, Heroes is willing to help you out. Starting today, all players will get a Special Log-In Bonus of two Orbs! There’s also a new Paralogue entitled Xenologue 2: The Brink Of Chaos that explains the in-universe story of the event. Clear the paralogue on each difficulty to earn nine more Orbs.

The new event, quests, summon focus, and daily Orbs will be available through 22 June. Read on below for a deeper look at the Tempest Trials…

Tempest Trial Introduction

Tap on the new Tempest Trials button in the upper left of the Battle screen to begin the event. You’ll be greeted with an opening story featuring everyone’s favourite masked time traveler, then brought to the opening page.

Check Rewards to see all the various prizes available, or tap on Select Stage to jump right in! There are a total of five different Trials: 1 Normal, 2 Hard, and 2 Lunatic. Each Trial requires 20 Stamina.

Tapping on a particular Trial shows you a a range of how many points you can hope to win by playing that Trial. The Normal mode Trials offers only up to 54 points for a successful clear, but you can earn almost ten times that many, up to 504 points, by clearing the top-most Lunatic Trial. These point totals do not include the Bonus Ally multiplier.

All maps except the final map in each Trial include randomized enemies and maps. When you move onto the next map, the state of your heroes remains the same, including current HP and special move countdowns.

The final map always features Veronica as a boss and uses a new map based on Chapter 23 from Awakening.

Once you’ve completed your Trial, a screen will pop up and show you your point total. If you’ve won any rewards, you will get another pop up and the items will be automatically added into your inventory.

Tempest Trials Rewards

Speaking of rewards, there are a lot of them! You can earn up to 33 Orbs and 3,500 Hero Feathers, as well as a bunch of Crystals. The star prizes are 4★ and 5★ versions of Marth: Enigmatic Blade, which you can earn at 6,000 and 30,000 points. You can also win new Sacred Seals at 20,000 (Breath of Life 1) and 50,000 (Quickened Pulse).

You can also earn additional rewards based on how many points you score compared to other players. There are nine total tiers and they can award you anywhere from 500 to 10,000 Hero Feathers!

If these rewards aren’t enough for you, you can also earn some additional prizes with the new Tempest Trials quests! Complete all three quests by playing lots of Trials to earn yourself some useful Universal Shards and Crystals.

Masked Lucina only has her weapon skills shown when you look at her from the reward page, so I am curious on what else she might have. Also the quickened pulse skill, I’m super interested but while I’ve done ok, best being only two teams, still didn’t earn much over 600 points so gonna take me a while at the very least. And for anyone wondering because I didn’t see it covered anywhere when your first team you start with wipes out you get to select your next team from your roster rather than another of your preset teams. It even has a option were you can check on the map so you can better counter it.

she doesn’t have any skills. Like, at all. I got her 4* – no other skills there.

      • CombatMagi

Oh interesting to say the least. I usually like to build around their skills but if that’s the case maybe I’ll actually make her a “best” version of her.

  • Paulo Cesar

So far was able to clear the last hard one twice put since the unit I used dies middle way didnt get a good score so you kinda really need keep the unit of the bonus safe or just use on the last map if you are lucky enough.

  • Familyplayer

But what if my favorite masked time traveler is Gerome?

  • mrkisukes

There is an element of strategy in beating lunatic trials, but it still largely comes down to luck and having the right units. One run will decide to spam a bunch of armor slayers at you making the Hector you rely on so much harder to use, sometimes they’ll often throw enemies with those annoying “cannot counterattack” skills at you.

You also need to get lucky with the layout of Veronica’s map as it randomly chooses one of a handful of layouts. Specifically when it comes to the magic horse user and armored unit, the reason this is important is that you ideally want the mage you brought to one round them both immediately so you have time to position for Veronica and her remaining Paladin and Ninja/Thief.

So if your not running a healer, which can be understandable, Renewal and Breath of Life are lifesavers between my Hector with renewal 3 and Bridal Cordelia with renewal 2 and breath of life 2 I’m now consistently getting to map 7 without any deaths. Won’t say my speed rank is great but I rather have one subpar stat than both speed and survival being bad.

  • O.H. X-1990

Wow, I really HATE Veronica in Tempest Mode! Her Fury skill is so annoying, not to mention her ability to heal every single turn! They get to easily beat this mode with their Hectors and Azuras without dying, but not me, since I don’t have Hector or Azura! IT’S NOT FAIR, COMPLETELY UNFAIR! At this point, it’s gonna take FOREVER to get “Marth” on my team, but by then, not only will this Tempest Mode disappear, but “Marth” as well!

    • Stranger

Put Triangle Adept on any Red with good res and Veronica is actually the easiest unit to kill on the map.

  • O.H. X-1990

This is BULLCRAP! Despite my best efforts, this God forsaken mode just keeps forcing me to puss out! If only I have more powerful heroes instead of crappy ones (Wrys, I’m looking at you, you old coot)!

  • O.H. X-1990

I got my 4-Star “Marth”, but I really wanted a 5-Star “Marth”! But, 30,000 points to unlock 5-Star “Marth”?! …Eff…my…life!

  • The difficulty is fine as it is (even the bullshit +60 HP heroes I run into since its no uncommon for games to beef up their units unnaturally during battles). The main issue is the amount of points they give out just doesn’t add up along with the AP requirements. They honestly should do an update pretty soon and change things because this current system sucks.
Normal Should be 10 AP, Hard 15, & Lunatic 20
Beef up the amount of points you get as the difficulty raises (even more than it already is). Because max I can ever get on the last Lunatic is around 500-700 with 4-5 of my units dying. Reaching the final reward….yeah….that will take a while (if I ever decide to play that long. Because this is a more of “kill time” game and not “sit on the couch for 2+ hours and play it” game). Also considering the amount of time you have to put into Lunatic Battles, the reward doesn’t justify the time spent on it if actually succeeding.

And this is coming from a p2p with decent units to play the final map. Considering I’ve also been playing Fate Grand Order and Granblue Fantasy…..this event really pales in comparison to theirs when it comes to the point/reward system.
