Fire Emblem Fates releasing as two separate versions in the West

Nintendo avoided the subject in their E3 trailer, but now we know that Fire Emblem Fates will be releasing as two separate versions in the West, like in Japan.

In their official press statement, Nintendo states this:

Fire Emblem Fates: Two versions of the franchise’s new installment offer players an unprecedented choice: fight an opposing force or join the other side and try to make changes from within. For the first time in the series, players take on the role of the main character and command an army, while struggling to decide which path to follow: helping blood relatives or the family that raised him or her. The game is scheduled to launch in 2016.

Furthermore, poking around in their official E3 site reveals the two versions’ subtitles.

Fresh from the Digital Event, check out the new trailer for Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright & Conquest.

By the way, in case you missed it, Nintendo’s Treehouse Livestream is about to cover Fates in a matter of minutes of this post!

Update: The Fates Treehouse coverage is over for now; I will report the details after I take a brief break…

Before moving on, I’ve hurriedly completed my analysis of Fire Emblem Fates‘s exciting new E3 trailer, which you can read here.

Hopefully it’s an interesting read; I’ve discovered a few things that even I’m slightly shocked about.

Additionally, for those curious, I’ve uploaded the official press kit for Fire Emblem Fates for people to download here.

The kit contains a few screenshots from the trailer, plus artworks of the male and female Avatar, Aqua and the game’s main visual (with all eleven royal siblings together).

Note: If you want to share the press kit, please reupload it elsewhere to avoid causing unnecessary stress on the site. Thanks!

E3: New Genei Ibun Roku #FE Trailer

During Nintendo’s E3 Digital Event, the Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem crossover received its second trailer, immediately after the Fire Emblem Fates trailer.

Unlike Fates, the trailer didn’t showcase any English voices nor did it reveal an official English title. Although Nintendo now refers to it as “Genei Ibun Roku #FE“, which is the transliteration of its Japanese title.

Today we learned that the game focuses on young heroes known as “Mirage Masters” who fight back against the “Mirages” that have invaded from a parallel world.

Besides fighting Mirages, our young heroes also live a double life as entertainers and the game promises to delve into their fight for stardom.
