Japan Surprises eShop with Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem Release

You heard me right folks! With Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE releasing this week worldwide, attention dropped from Japan’s eShop. Fortunately, they know how to get it back, with their announcement today of the unexpected release of the Super Famicom’s Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem on the new Nintendo 3DS.

Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem can be purchased through Japan’s eShop for 926 Yen.

Fates: Revelation Available for Everyone in Europe

For those of you in Europe who own the standard editions of Fire Emblem Fates, you can now purchase and download the third route, “Revelation” starting today.

This path compliments the Birthright and Conquest story lines and, as its title suggests, reveals many secrets about the conflict at large. As such, it’s advised that you play it after completing the other two paths.

If you’re unsure how to purchase additional paths, what you need to do is choose the “Branch of Fates” option (available after Chapter 6) from the start menu, before loading a save file.

Alternatively, you can purchase a download code from participating retailers and input it via the Dragon’s Gate (again, from Chapter 6 and onward). On a related note, the Royal Royale DLC map is also available to download.

Meanwhile, Australian fans must patiently wait one more day for Revelation and the new DLC because of their slightly.later release schedule.

Fates: European Website Details

Among all the big news this week, Nintendo of Europe launched the full website for the European version of Fire Emblem Fates. Although the website is mostly the same as its American counterpart, there is some noteworthy information.

Like in Japan, only one version of Fates will be offered from the eShop. In this version, players will be prompted to download the rest of Birthright or Conquest after reaching Chapter 5. The path that isn’t chosen can be downloaded as DLC like normal.

Related to the above, the downloadable content schedule reveals the prices of Birthright, Conquest and Revelation when purchased as DLC for one of the other game versions. Plus the prices and pacing of the first eleven DLC maps (and gift from Anna).

As with the North American release, fans can buy a “Map Pack 1” season pass for the first eleven maps (and the free gift) for a discounted price. Interestingly, the European version also includes a 10,000 G gift to spend in-game.

Finally, although it’s not currently listed on the website, Map Pack 2, which contains six new DLC maps (and another free gift from Anna), will be arriving in late July. These maps, collectively known as the “Heirs of Fate”, are currently being released in North America.

Fates: DLC Map Pack 2 Launching 5th May

Good news for North American Fates players! Not long after the final map from Map Pack 1 released, Nintendo has revealed that Map Pack 2 will be available to download from 5th May 2016.

This new pack includes Another Gift From Anna, which can be downloaded for free and awards a Boots item (grants Movement +1) and Paragon skill scroll (doubles experience earned), but only once per save file.

Plus six maps from the “Heirs of Fate”, a sidestory that places the children of the main cast in the spotlight. The first map “I: In Endless Dreams” will be available for a discounted price, which is a great way to tempt fans to purchase the rest of the story.

Both “Another Gift From Anna” and “I: In Endless Dreams” can be downloaded immediately from 5th May 2016, while the remaining maps will be rolled out on a weekly basis until 9th June 2016.
