This past weekend, the Fire Emblem Cipher team hosted the Cipher Autumn 2018 Livesteam over NicoNico! Ryota Kawade and Young hosted the stream as usual. Joining them was voice actress Juri Kimura, the voice of both Mozu and Nyx from Fire Emblem Fates and Yuzu from Fire Emblem Echoes.
The main focus of the stream was to show off some additional cards for the latest upcoming series: S11, Glorious Twinstrike. The set features cards from The Sacred Stones, Fire Emblem Echoes, and Fire Emblem Warriors, and releases on 7 December.
In addition to showing off cards, we also got to see some new Fire Emblem merchandise, as also news and images for upcoming Cipher releases and events. Read on below for a full look at everything new from the stream!
Series 11 Reveals
Of course, the most anticipated aspect of the livestreams is getting a look at some new cards. The autumn livestream certainly didn’t disappoint, sharing many new cards from the set from across all games and rarities.
For TSS, ten new cards were revealed during the stream! Take a look below at Tana, Vanessa, Neimi, Syrene, Ross, Garcia, and Myrrh. We also get our first look at some purple monster cards, namely a Bael and a Gorgon. They have the same Monster affinity as the Risen cards from Awakening.
The first signed SR+ cards were also revealed during the stream, featuring Ephraim and Eirika! Since the original game did not include voice acting, these cards are signed by their voice actors from Fire Emblem Heroes: Yashiro Taku and Kaori Mizuhashi.
For Warriors, we get six new cards: Chrom, Frederick, Sakura, Elise, Marth, and Caeda. These reveals also officially confirm that all Warriors cards will be colourless, just like Heroes. Additionally, Sakura and Elise wield a Bow and Tome respectively despite being unpromoted, which is true to their Warriors characters rather than their Fates versions.
In the middle of the stream, Saori Seta, the voice of Anna, joined in as a guest. To celebrate her arrival, they showed off another new Warriors card from S11: a signed R+ card for Anna!
Last but not least, we also get to see four new cards for Echoes: Forsyth, Python, Kamui, and Leon. All four of these characters were absent in the original Echoes release in S9. We also got the first reveal of Delthea SR, though she was later revealed over Twitter, along with her SR+ version.
Harrier Faye was also revealed to be receiving a signed R+ card!
S11 Release Promotion
In addition to the cards, Kawade also revealed the designs for some S11 promotional items. These little notepads feature artwork from S11 and will be available to those who purchase Cipher booster packs from participating retailers.
More information about this promotional release will be coming soon to the official FE Cipher website. Likely they will be also available to those of us who import via AmiAmi, like previous promotions for earlier sets.
S12 Details & Artwork
The Autumn Livestream also included a bit of a deeper look into S12. The set has been given an official title, Raging Deluge, and also a release date of 22 March. It will feature characters from Genealogy of the Holy War, Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn, and Awakening.
On the Genealogy side, Kawade revealed that Eldigan will feature as the main character of that portion of the set. He revealed new artwork for both him and his son Ares, so presumably both generations will be included in the set.
For Awakening, new art was revealed for Walhart and also a Risen Commander.
The Tellius games received the most attention in this segment of the stream, including this image of Lehran’s Medallion with Mist, Greil, Elena, and Ike around the edge. Kawade referred to this image as a “key visual” for the Tellius portion of the set. What exactly that means remains to be seen, but it’s unlikely we’ll actually get a playable card featuring this art (though it would make a nice sleeve or marker card).
We also got some new artwork for three mounted ladies that will be included in the set: Marcia, Astrid, and Fiona.
S13 Announcement
Towards the end of the stream, Kawade, Young, and Juri played a small game to announce the titles that will be included in S13, the summer 2018 set. After much passing around of envelopes, the titles were revealed to be Blazing Sword, Shadow Dragon, and Heroes!
Sadly, we have no further information, though we can infer some things that will likely be a part of the set. The first two listed games have many listed characters that have yet to be represented in Cipher. Hopefully fans will be happy to see additional characters given some much needed love. Additionally, it’s likely that the Heroes cards will include more characters than just the Heroes OCs.
New Fire Emblem Merchandise & Event Promo Art
Additionally, the Cipher team took the opportunity during the stream to show off some additional Fire Emblem merchandise that will soon be available in Japan! Check out our earlier article for a full breakdown of all the new merchandise. Below, Juri and Young have fun showing off the merchandise in person.
If you’re interested in importing any of these goods for yourself, they’re available for pre-order on AmiAmi. All items will be released on 23 November.
Kawade also took the opportunity to show off some additional artwork that will be used for promo cards in upcoming Cipher events. Three pieces of art were shown off for Comiket93 promo cards for this December: Delthea, Sharena, and Female Corrin. The Corrin card is based on her special Summer version from Heroes.
Sharena and Corrin both fit the pattern of swimsuit promos that have been included in the Players Boxes for sale at Comiket. As such, it’s likely that Delthea will be used for the card given out to all visitors to the booth.
Cipher Sai 2018 attendees will also be receiving some special promo cards. Unfinished artwork for both of those cards were also revealed, this time featuring chibi versions of Nowi and Tiki.
And with that, the livestream breakdown comes to a close. Kawade and Young will be back, likely in early December, with more guests in another pre-release livestream before S11’s release.
Cipher Series 11 will release next month on 7 December! In the meantime, it’ll be an exciting month of news, reveals, and speculation.
