Also, we now have a few more details about how Cindered Shadows interacts with the main story. For those unaware, Cindered Shadows will be accessed separately from the main story–and it will have its own save file(s).

Although the two stories are separate, your progress in Cindered Shadows will affect the main story. Firstly, after clearing Chapter 1 of Cindered Shadows, you can visit Abyss when exploring the monastery in the main story.

Three Houses: Yuri and Constance Profiles

It’s been a while, but do you remember the Three Houses character profiles that the Japanese Twitter account and website used to post?

Well, with new characters being introduced in the upcoming Cindered Shadows DLC story, they’re at it again! This week, profiles for Yuri and Constance were added. You can find translations of them below.

There’s a good chance we’ll see Balthus and Hapi’s profiles next week. Although there’s at least one more free week before the DLC launches, so maybe they’ll show us some non-playable characters as well?

Three Houses: Confirmed Students for “Cindered Shadows” & New Official Artwork!

The Japanese Fire Emblem Twitter account shared a few tidbits about the upcoming Cindered Shadows DLC story for Three Houses.

Firstly, as we learned earlier, players will be provided with fixed party members during this side story. The members will include the protagonist, the three House leaders, the four members of the Ashen Wolves, plus three other students: Linhardt, Ashe and Hilda.

To celebrate the occasion, the Twitter account also shared the official artwork for the three returning students, by the game’s artist Chinatsu Kurahana. This artwork has never been seen before! Kind of.

If you’re observant, you may have spotted Hilda’s official artwork during the Byleth reveal for Smash Ultimate. More precisely, it could be seen in the new spirit board, alongside new artwork for Dorothea, Ingrid, Seteth and Rhea. Huh, who else might have new artwork…?

Three Houses: Nintendo Japan Sheds a Tiny Bit More Light on “Cindered Shadows” Side Story

Following yesterday’s trailer for Wave 4 of the Three Houses DLC, Nintendo Japan posted an article with a few more details.

To get everyone up to speed, Wave 4 will be arriving on 12th or 13th February 2020 (depending on where you live). It will include a new side story called “Cindered Shadows” and features new characters, classes, paralogues and activities etc.

The first thing to note is that Cindered Shadows is separate from the main game, with its own save files. To play it, you must choose the new “Side Story” option located between “Nintendo eShop” and “Copy”.

When creating a save file, players can choose the protagonist’s form and name, as well as select the difficulty (Normal or Hard) and mode (Classic or Casual). Just like when you begin a new save file for the main game.

In the main game, players followed a monthly routine where they taught and socialised with their students, while preparing for the end-of-month task. However, Cindered Shadows will have a different gameplay cycle (no details given).

Also, players will be provided with fixed team members and won’t be able to recruit other students. Furthermore, the maps will feature a lot of gimmicks and the overall difficulty is a bit higher than the main game.

(Not mentioned here, but by playing the side story, you can recruit new characters from the side story in the main game.)
