The History of Serenes Forest (via History of the Emblem)

History of the Emblem is a growing YouTube channel that explains the stories and lore of the Fire Emblem games, among other topics. As it happens, our very own website is featured in their latest video!

The video, which is just under 6 minutes long, outlines the history of Serenes Forest all the way from its conception to the present day. Oh boy, seeing the older versions of the website really brings me back…

A big thanks to History of the Emblem for spending the time to gather and present all the relevant information. If you’d like to support them, please do give their channel a visit. From what I’ve seen, their videos are informative and pretty funny.

On a related note, our website reached its 14th anniversary last month. I am really grateful to everyone who visits this site–no matter how often–and to all my staff members for helping to keep the site running smoothly.

This year, on top of the all the regular Heroes and Cipher news coverage, Three Houses is going to be a huge focus for us. Both pre-release and post-release. If you’re interested, I hope you stick around for all the good times to come!

Heroes: Remembering Books I & II, and “Fire and Ice” Banner available now!

Another Fire Emblem Heroes News update has arrived! The Nintendo Mobile YouTube channel dropped a new video today, titled “Remembering Books I & II.”

The end of the video reveals a new, rather ominous still:

Alfonse stands alone. In front of him lay two bodies, possibly those of Sharena and Kieran/Summoner. Or maybe, the King and Queen of Askr? It is quite hard to tell, but those are not Sharena’s shoes, despite the similar hairstyle.

Heroes: Live-Action Video + September Monthly Quests!

Fire Emblem Heroes has made a special live-action video starring the new Brave versions of Ike, Lyn, Lucina, and Roy. Watch it for yourself below!

The Black Knight also makes an appearance in the video. Between that and his sprite appearing in the Quick Hero Battles mini-game, it looks like he may be appearing in-game soon.

With the new month starting today, you can also start playing new September quests! Complete many different tasks to earn a variety of rewards including Orbs, Feathers, Crystals, Shards, and more. Check out the full quest listing below. These quests will be available for the full month.

Additionally, an update in the Heroes notifications screen apologizes for a bug affecting some players where their defensive teams were not matched against other team in the Arena. If this bug affected you, you will be receiving 900 Hero Feathers as an apology gift on 7 September.

Echoes: This Week’s Pre-release Videos

In just over a week, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is set to arrive in the West. To keep you occupied for a bit, here’s a recap of this week’s videos and trailers in case you missed them.

Firstly, GameXplain has uploaded two new videos of the English version, including 45 minutes of gameplay from Act 2–the start of Celica’s journey.

We see Celica leaving the Priory on her journey to the Temple of Mila, along with her close friends Mae and Boey (and Genny if you choose to drag her along), and the footage ends after the first sea battle.

Of note, Dracozombies have apparently been renamed to “Necrodragons”, which is neat, although the timing is a bit odd. Similarly, the villainous Dach who’s seized control of Zofia’s seas is now “Barth” (not to be confused Barthe from Binding Blade).

Note: Past here, there are some mild lore spoilers.
