Heroes: “War of the Tacticians” Voting Gauntlet now on!

With today’s daily reset, a new Voting Gauntlet began. “War of the Tacticians” is on now!

Each of these Heroes are considered to have a level of tactical prowess within their games. Will the victor utterly destroy their opponents, or will the winner drop a tactical Multiplier Bonus at the final hour? This is how the bracket is looking:

Earn a load of Feathers for participating within the event. The higher you rank, the more Feathers you will receive. You can also complete the quests for extra Orbs, Flags, Sacred Coins, and Refining Stones. The event is on from now until the 6th of March, 3:59am UTC, with each of the three rounds lasting 45 hours.

Also today: A fresh Tactics Drills: Grandmaster map, titled “Sacred Stones Strike!”

Feel free to check it out, if you think you’ve got what it takes. Or just copy the strategy from someone who’s already done it. Whatever works for you.

Heroes: Legendary Banner and Roy: Blazing Lion LHB are here!

It’s nearly the end of the month, and that means it’s time for the monthly Legendary Banner and a new Legendary Hero to make their entrance to Heroes.

Roy: Blazing Lion is the latest Legendary Hero to join the fray, and will be joined by 11 other 5-Star exclusive Heroes, including Special and other Legendary Heroes. The banner begins today and will end on the 6th of March, 6:59am UTC.

Accompanying the new banner is a new Legendary Hero Battle, featuring our boy Roy.

You can earn a Fire Blessing and up to 9 Orbs for completing all difficulties from Normal to Infernal, and a Golden Imperial Tiara EX accessory for defeating the Abyssal difficulty. The LHB begins today and will end on the 6th of March, 6:59am UTC.

Legendary Roy comes with a new type of Bonus. The following screenshot describes it as, “Draw out tougher matches” within the Arena.

Essentially, aside from +3 HP to Fire blessed allies, this effect treats Roy’s own total stats as 175 if he is at 5-Star and level 40 – his own personal Duel skill. This allows your Arena team to fight against enemies with a higher Arena score. A new ability is slated to be released come April, which may add effects to allies – or even to Roy himself – outside of Arena.

Heroes: Enter Legendary Hero Roy: Blazing Lion

A sneak peek at our next Legendary Hero came in the other day, the form of an app store tease, revealing Roy: Blazing Lion, as the upcoming Legendary Hero. That may have been just a rumor, but it was confirmed just moments ago, in the release of the Roy: Blazing Lion Legendary Hero trailer.

Roy comes with a new weapon, and two unique skills (one personal), as expected. He brings with himself Dragon Fang and Renewal, two known skills, and adds to the fray,

  • [Wpn] Dragonbind
    • 16 Mt  | 1 Rng Sword
    • Effective vs Dragon foes
    • Distant Counter
      • This is much like his game’s own version of the Binding Blade
  • [A] Bonus Doubler 3
    • Grants bonus stats to Atk, Spd, Def and Res during combat, equal to the current bonus on each of the unit’s stats, independently.
  • [C] Human Virtue
    • At the start of any turn, if the unit is adjacent to non-beast or non-dragon allies, grants Atk & Spd +6 to himself and those allies for the turn)

He also appears to be joining with a Fire Blessing (fitting for his name), and what that blessing does…is a mystery.

Of course, the Legendary Hero banner comes with friends, available for summon at 8%, and this is no different. Included this time, are the following heroes:

  • Red
    • Hríd
    • Micaiah (Performing Arts)
  • Green
    • Female Corrin (Adrift)
    • Gunnthrá
    • Surtr
  • Blue
    • Male Corrin (Adrift)
    • Ephraim (Legendary)
    • Niles (Halloween)
  • Colorless
    • Mikoto
    • Robin (Legendary)
    • Xander (Performing Arts)

This banner kicks off on February 26 at 11p PT, and runs until March 5.

Fates: “Pellucid Crystal” Art Book Releasing 25th April 2019 + Message from Yusuke Kozaki

To say it’s taken a while it’s an understatement, but the Fire Emblem Fates art book is finally fated to arrive on 25th April 2019, in Japan. This information was provided by the Nintendo Dream editing team.

The art book’s full title is “Fire Emblem Fates: Visual Guide – Pellucid Crystal”. It’s produced by the team behind the Tellius and Echoes books, and is fully supervised by Intelligent Systems. Currently, it’s available to pre-order on Amazon Japan.

The book itself contains 320 pages, which cover various character artwork, taken from in-game visuals (including the Private Quarters) and concept designs. In addition, there will be movie scenes, outlines of the storyline of all three paths, plus details regarding the world and story.

When this news was announced, the game’s artist–Yusuke Kozaki–cautioned fans that the art book will not contain official artwork for every character. So those wishing to buy the book to see all the official artwork should bear this in mind.

But I should mention, not every character has an individual illustration. I know this is probably frustrating for those wishing to buy the book and expecting otherwise. To make up for that, I drew a spectacular piece for the book’s cover.
