Fire Emblem Engage: DLC Emblems, Characters & Classes (Placeholders) Found in Version 1.1.0/Base Game

Intelligent Systems was quite smart and didn’t include the actual content for Waves 2~4 of the Fire Emblem Engage Expansion Pass in the currently available data. However, they weren’t quite thorough enough, because various files in the base game and Version 1.1.0 reference unreleased DLC.

This has happened in the past on numerous occasions, such as for Three Houses. I don’t have any experience of the development process, but I imagine DLC is developed in tandem with the main game, so it’s probably incredibly hard to fully separate the base game and DLC.

Of course, there will probably be spoilers, so be mindful if you wish to continue! This includes story spoilers.

Fire Emblem Engage: Out Now, Icon Elements & Comic Adaptation!

Today is 20th January, which means Fire Emblem Engage is officially out!

To celebrate the occasion, the official Fire Emblem Twitter shared this stunning artwork.

Also, they sure took their sweet time, but Fire Emblem icons are now available for the Nintendo Switch! However, you will need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Starting now, you can redeem FE Engage icon elements via the Mission & Rewards tab, by using Platinum Coins (you can obtain these from playing FE Heroes for instance). There will be 6 sets, available for one week each, beginning from each Friday.

Last but not least, FE Engage is getting a comic adaptation in Japan!

A prologue, which occurs before Alear awakens, will feature in the March issue of Saikyō Jump, available from 3rd Feb. The comic will then properly begin with Chapter 1 in Saikyō Jump’s April issue alongside Shōnen Jump+.

The artist is 今日和老 (Kyou Kazuro).

Fire Emblem Engage: “Ask the Developer” Interview

Just before Fire Emblem Engage officially launches, Nintendo has published a really cool interview with the FE Engage development team, as part of their “Ask the Developer” series.

The interview is split into three chapters.

In Chapter 1, the developers introduce themselves and the concept of FE Engage. They also explain how they came up with the Emblem mechanic.

Next, in Chapter 2, they discuss the various characters and, naturally, Mika Pikazo’s artwork. It turns out Alear and Céline were the first characters she designed. Also, there are rough sketches of most of the playable cast!

Finally, Chapter 3 goes over some of their struggles and excitement when balancing the game around the powerful Emblems.

In addition, they tease some of the future DLC, including the Divine Paralogues and Fell Xenologues. In the former, you can recruit many Emblems, such as Tiki. Meanwhile, in Fell Xenologues, you can enjoy a new side story.
