Fire Emblem 2017 Retrospective

As we step into the new year, here’s a look back at the events of 2017–by all means, a landmark year for Fire Emblem.

Not only did we witness the release of Fire Emblem Heroes, which introduced the series to a wider audience, we received a highly-praised remake in Shadows of Valentia, plus another exciting spin-off in Fire Emblem Warriors.

Furthermore, there was the promise of a brand new console Fire Emblem for the Nintendo Switch in 2018. Truly, this was on-going proof of Nintendo treating Fire Emblem as one of their important franchises.

Heroes: Happy New Year! Summoning Focus + Voting Gauntlet Details!

Ring in the New Year with some Special Heroes in Fire Emblem Heroes! The Happy New Year! Summoning Focus is now live with new special 5★ versions of Azura, Takumi, and Camilla available.

If you need some more Orbs in order to summon these heroes, the Happy New Year! paralogue has got your back. Complete all three maps, as well as the Lunatic difficulty quests, to earn up to 12 Orbs!

As usual, these three new heroes will all be Bonus Allies in the next Arena Season. Check out the full ally roster below!

The Happy New Year! Summoning Focus and its associated quests will be here for a full month, ending on 31 January.

The Heroes notification screen has also announced the next Voting Gauntlet! The theme is Winter Festival vs. New Year’s, and it features all four Christmas Special Heroes, the three new New Years heroes, and also Ryoma. Here’s the full bracket:

This Voting Gauntlet will begin with tomorrow’s reset at 7:00am UTC on 1 January and last through the 7th.

Heroes: New Bound Hero Battle: Raven & Lucius!

If you’d like to take a break from grinding the Tempest Trials for a bit, there’s a new special battle event in Fire Emblem Heroes. Bound Hero Battle: Raven & Lucius is now available! There’s also a matching banner where you can summon 5★ versions of both heroes as well as Raven’s sister Priscilla.

As typical for BHB’s, you can challenge Raven and Lucius in maps of three different difficulties. Beat them all without losing a unit to win a total of nine Orbs!

Bound Hero Battle: Raven & Lucius will be available for one week, ending on 6 January.

Heroes: Happy New Year! Preview Trailer is Live!

As hinted at in yesterday’s tweet, another batch of Special Heroes is arriving soon in Fire Emblem Heroes! Check out the Happy New Year! preview trailer to take a look at Azura, Takumi, and Camilla all dressed and ready for the Hoshidan new year.

As always, these three new Special Heroes come with a variety of new weapons and skills. You can see a full breakdown of all their abilities below.

Additionally, a new paralogue, also titled “Happy New Year!” will be arriving alongside the new banner. One paralogue map shows Male Corrin dressed for the occasion as well, though he does not appear in the new banner. According to @FE_Heroes_JP, New Years Corrin will be given out as a reward during an event in January. Stay tuned for further info!

The Happy New Year! banner will be arriving this Sunday, 31 December, at 7:00am UTC. It will be around for a full month, ending on 31 January.
