Three Houses: Famitsu Third Article Part 2 (of 2) – Weekend Activities and New Character Details

Welcome to the second–and final–part of our analysis of Famitsu’s third article on Three Houses. Just in case, be sure to check out the first part, as it contains a lot of new story and gameplay details.

If you’re wondering why the analysis is split into two parts, well, there’s simply so much information that it takes several hours for me to digest everything and format it on a page for your viewing pleasure. This way, you don’t have to wait as long to get some of the information.

Anyway, continuing from where we left off..

Weekend Activities to Boost Your Power

Here, we’ll talk about the various activities you can participate in during weekends. It’s your choice if you want to spend your time leisurely, train yourself rigidly, etc.

The above screenshot shows the calendar for the 10th month, the Wyvern Season. Other seasons include the Great Tree Season during the 4th month (which appears to be the month you enter the academy), the Flower Crown Season in the 6th month and the Falling Rain Season (literally “rain falling on leaves”) for the 8th month.

We already saw the calendar in the 2nd Famitsu article. Like before, there are icons for birthdays (two this month, but it seems birthdays during weekends aren’t marked), sub-activities (the fishing hook, plant, dining icons etc.) and a house icon (this time, Blue Lions) at the end of the calendar.

For those unaware or to refresh your memory, players will progress through the calendar, teaching during the weekdays and spending free time in the weekend. For more info about teaching, please check the 2nd Famitsu article. At the end of each month, there’s a Field Study task that you must complete to finish the month. Then the next chapter/act starts.

New for this month are a series of blue exclamation marks during all four weekend. I believe these indicate sidequests or paralogues. More on those later. Also, for those wondering, I don’t think you go through every single day in the calendar, but only the ones where there are important icons.

Here are four of the options available from the calendar screen:

Shop: Access the market where you can stock up on weapons and supplies or sell things. We saw the shop menu before, in the first Famitsu article (search for “shop”).

Skip: Skip to any day of your liking, as well as any activity during that particular day.

The above screenshots show the Skip function. Here, the player chooses Sunday the 5th and the Harvest Festival sub-activity. The other activities in order are: Battle of the Weak, Have-Nots, Kingdom Nobles’ Marriage (all sidequests/paralogues), Fishing Contest and Earth’s Blessing. Read more

Three Houses: Famitsu Third Article Part 1 (of 2) – Early Story, Battle System and New Classes

Like previously, Famitsu has uploaded their new Three Houses article hours before the issue containing it hits stores. To be honest, I’m not sure why, but I’m not complaining! Needless to say, there’s a lot of info to go through, so without further ado…

Actually, before I start, to make things easier for you and myself, I will be splitting this article into two parts. That way, you don’t want to wait several hours before I’m finished–instead, you can wait a few hours for the first half, then the remaining hours for the other half.

Signs of Disturbance

Revealed during yesterday’s Famitsu preview, these pair of ne’er-do-wells harbour ill feelings towards the Garreg-Mach Monastery where you’re stationed. They’ve been known to attack students and followers of the church and are clearly hostile towards the church. Their motives are currently unknown, but it’s probably nothing good.

Reaper Knight: In the streets of Garreg-Mach, there are rumours of a knight spiriting away people at night. But the dreaded knight who’s supposedly just a rumour suddenly appears before the protagonist. Their appearance evokes an ominous presence as if they’re not of this world.

Flame Emperor: A mysterious figure who acts behind the scenes around the monastery. They hide their body with a mask and cape and their true identity is a complete mystery. The thieves who attacked the students from the officer’s academy at the beginning of the game seem to be working under the orders of this Flame Emperor.

Shadows Cast by Incidents Involving the Academy

The protagonist is a teacher at the Officer’s Academy and will decide which of the three houses to lead during the early stages of the game. Although the incidents that occur at the end of each month/season are the same, the events before and after are different depending on the house. Often, you may gain a new perspective on the story compared to the other houses.

A Disquieting Presence Surrounding the Church of Seiros

The story revolves around the students of the chosen house. Are there truths that only certain characters know? In the screenshots above, Hubert from the Black Eagles is surprised that Lonato is staging a rebellion. Meanwhile, Dimitri from the Blue Lions posits that Lonato doesn’t want to involve Ashe with his rebellion.

Heroes: Mythic Hero Naga Coming Soon

Fans all over the internet have spotted clues on the Fire Emblem Heroes official site, regarding the potential of Mythic Hero Naga. Those fans were right, as her Mythic Banner was just revealed. Slated to run from May 30 until June 6, Summoners have the chance to score Naga, and boy howdy is she a powerful unit, stacked to deal with Aether Raid offense!

Naga joins the fray as Blue Dragon unit, with the Astra Defensive Blessing. A Dragon team will love her, as will Naga and Falchion users, but her unique C adjacency buff results in her buffing herself as well as giving nearby units a neat temporary dragonslaying ability. Super cool!

Her Banner features the 8% exclusive summoning rate on 11 other heroes, including:

  • Red
    • Eirika (Legendary)
    • Gunnthra (New Year’s)
    • Hrid
  • Blue
    • Tiki (Legendary)
    • Hector (Legendary)
  • Green
    • Lugh
    • Lyn (Legendary)
    • Fjorm (New Year’s)
  • Colorless
    • Duma
    • Laevateinn (New Year’s)
    • Velouria

Good luck on your summoning session, fellow Summoners!

Three Houses: Famitsu Preview (Scary Villains, Activities and Battle System)

Famitsu has teased their 3rd Three Houses article, which will appear in their 13th June issue releasing on 30th May 2019. This one will discuss the beginning of the story, activities at the Officer’s Academy and the battle system (including Gambit Boosts).

As usual, there’s a preview of one of the double-page spreads, which is unfortunately too small to make out the precise details. That said, it’s clear there will be brand new profiles for Ashe and Lysithea–who will probably be profiled by the official Twitter and website later this week.

On top of that, Famitsu provided images of two presumably villain characters. They are known as the “Reaper Knight” (or Death Knight or Grim Knight, you get the picture) and the “Flame Emperor”. Apparently they have a serious grudge against the Garreg-Mach Monastery.

Anyway, I tried my best to analyse the tiny preview image, but it’s no easy task. Besides, the full issue will be out within 2 days.

The main agenda is the calendar and weekend activities, introduced in the 2nd Famitsu article. The big screenshot with female Byleth standing around is highlighting the map of the academy. You can toggle a full map of the academy (shown in the top-right corner), which probably indicates where all your students can be found.
