Community Spotlight: Fire Emblem Writer’s Zine

It’s time to share another pretty radical fan group’s project, and this time, it’s the Fire Emblem Writer’s Zine, a community’s collective publication celebrating the creative talent of writers within the Fire Emblem fandom.

If you’re familiar with the Together We Ride fan zine that we’ve promoted in the past, you may recognize the group involved, as one of its members, Damosel, is part of both the teams of this Writer’s Zine and the TWR zine. Now, there are a couple of differences with the Writer’s Zine, notably how you can enjoy it, and who they support.

For starters, they’re making their zine available as a PDF, meaning that there is no concern for shipping and receiving (a great relief in these trying times). The zine itself features stories and art from each of the mainline games, as well as Heroes and Warriors, coming to over 300 pages of content! Preorders are running until November 1st, and can be placed here. As it’s a PDF, delivery will not be an issue, and the huge amount of stories included can be enjoyed on the go.

The Writer’s Zine is doing this for charity, and the organization that proceeds will go towards is We Need Diverse Books, an organization dedicated to helping provide books to the hands of those in need. WNDB helps by finding and promoting books that connect with those readers, helping them grow as individuals as well as people, and above all, promoting and celebrating diversity (racial, disability, cultural, etc) with the creation and exposure of books that highlight diverse stories and their characters.

If you’d like to follow the efforts of the FEWZ team, follow their Twitter, and you can keep up with their future projects, as well as partnered and endorsed projects. You may even be able to participate in a future edition yourself, or share this with a friend that you think may be interested in the opportunity and they could find some solace with this team or their projects.

If you’d like to support We Need Diverse Books, but either find yourself light on spare money or time right now, you can spread the word of their organization by clicking here for their Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, and share those links with your friends. Every little bit helps with bringing light to a charitable organization, and even something as following or sharing a group can help bring the attention that they need, to get the results that their beneficiaries deserve.

Cipher: New Dimitri promo, interview out this week

Following the Japanese trading card game Fire Emblem Cipher coming out with its very last booster expansion this month, a few more things of interest are still left to look forward to. Among these is the release of an all-new promotional card of Dimitri from Three Houses.

You won’t find this Dimitri in any booster — it’s bundled in a print magazine.

Enclosed as two copies with Dengeki Nintendo‘s December 2020 issue which drops October 21st, this appearance of Dimitri: Descendant of the Blue King of Lions is inspired by Faerghus’s founding king Loog and his penchant for the color blue. Saori Toyota, the card’s artist, recently commented on the reveal on Twitter, praising the house leader’s brilliance in justice.

Scale figure of Fire Emblem’s Lyn revealed at WonHobby Gallery!

A new scale figure is coming, and this time it’s Lyn.

Hobby product manufacturer Good Smile Company is holding their Wonderful Hobby Gallery Autumn 2020 exhibit this weekend from October 17th to October 18th both virtually and at the Akiba CO Gallery in Akihabara, Japan, and there’s been exciting news for fans of Fire Emblem: Lyn from The Blazing Blade is in the works as a 1/7 scale figure!

Another look at Lyn’s figure, shared by AmiAmi Hobby News on Twitter.
The bottom-right text means that its design is still pending the licensor’s final approval.

This sculpted figure serves as a scale model of the original character, standing at a 1:7 size ratio in height. Currently, the estimated price and release date are yet to be determined, but we expect updates on that to be eventually shared by its planner/developer, Intelligent Systems. How long that’ll take to happen is anyone’s guess!

Heroes: Goddess’s Servants banner bring 4 new Heroes, Nemesis GHB and more on October 20

Big news for Three Houses fans; the next Banner, was just announced, and features four playable Three Houses members, plus a bit extra. Look forward to summoning among Cattherine, Flayn, Seteth and Shamir in Goddess’s Servants, dropping October 20 at Midnight PT.

The Japanese banner can be viewed here.

Included in the batch are units of each color, and a Spark system, to ensure that after 40 summons, you as a Summoner can pick a free 5* Hero for yourself from the batch of 4.

There aren’t that many new skills, but we have the next Rouse-# skill (Rouse Atk/Spd 3), but more interestingly, a new movement assist skill, in Rescue+ (found on Flayn), which is sure to make things interesting going forward. It is a staff assist skill and reads as though it behaves like a combo Draw Back & Restore+. Would a future skill like Warp be a new staff support that behaves like Smite & Restore+ I wonder?

Additionally, Nemesis has been announced as the next Grand Hero Battle. His GHB will debut also on the 20th.

Included in the trailer appears to be Kiran, but on the battlefield and wielding the Folkvangr sword. If you’ve been paying attention to the plot, you might have a hunch as to what’s going on.

Finally, the Meet the Heroes pages for all five aforementioned characters have been updated, so go collect your cute little character art.
