Fire Emblem Cipher at Comiket 89

Fire Emblem Cipher and merchandise collectors will be setting their drool-o-meter to maximum as Fire Emblem triumphantly makes it way to Comiket 89 from 29th to 31st December 2015 in Japan.

As a bonus, a “First Princess of Nohr, Camilla” promotional card, featuring Camilla in a predictably risque Santa costume, will be given away with any purchase made at the booth (while stocks last).

The goods for sale are mostly related to the Cipher card game, but there are some new 25th Anniversary items too; of major interest to fans is the 25th Anniversary Fire Emblem Concert DVD.

Making of Fire Emblem: Sakurai Interview

The recently-released Making of Fire Emblem book is packed full of developer and staff interviews; among those interviewed was Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the Smash Bros. series, also a big-time Fire Emblem fan.

The interview begins with a discussion about Marth and Roy’s inclusion in Melee (a decision that helped propel the Fire Emblem series in the West), before moving over to more recent considerations.

There’s also another reference to Roy originally being named “Ike”, a piece of trivia that popped up while the interview team were unearthing details of Fire Emblem 64.

Serenes Forests’ very own Kirokan (otherwise known as Kantopia) has fully translated the Amazom.co.jp sale page for the upcoming release of The Making of Fire Emblem – 25th Anniversary Development Secrets, Awakening and Fates. This is up for pre-order now, but will be available for full sale, and pre-orders are anticipated to ship, on November 28, 2015.
