Kirie Joining as Cipher News Editor

In an on-going effort to improve Serenes Forest’s Fire Emblem Cipher coverage and also to bring new talent aboard the staff, I’m delighted to announce that Kirie will be joining the team as the Cipher news editor.

Some of you may already know of Kirie from her reports and posts on the Serenes Forest Cipher subforum and on other communities such as the Fire Emblem subreddit and FE Cipher Foreign Community.

With her knowledge and passion of the Cipher card game, plus her experience with penning website content, I have every confidence that she’ll be able to carry on the Cipher torch and make it burn ever brighter.

Anyway, expect a new Cipher post from Kirie in the close future. In addition, if you have any feedback or suggestions for Cipher content, you can leave a comment in this news post, on the forums or this reddit thread.

Fates: New Japanese Content Arrives

After many quiet months, Nintendo of Japan suddenly announced a new wave of DLC for the Japanese version of Fates during March’s Nintendo Direct.

Today, the first batch of new maps is now available for purchase from the Dragon’s Gate and fans have already started to dig around for juicy new information.

First up is the six-parter Recollection of Bubbles, which tells the tale of the childrens’ survival in a world without their parents. Currently, the first three parts are available and you can find more information here and an on-going translation here.

Secondly, we have Hoshidan Festival of Bonds, a light-hearted map featuring unique parent-child conversations and new cutscene illustrations. More specifically, there are illustrations for the top 4 children and 2 “staff picks”.

Cipher: Series 4 Pre-release Livestream

Fire Emblem Cipher’s 4th expansion “Shimmering Illusions”–featuring characters from Mystery of the Emblem, Awakening and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE–hits Japanese shelves on 17th March 2016.

Before that though, the Cipher team held another pre-release live stream to hype the new Series 4 cards and indulge us with the latest and hottest Cipher updates.

Once again, special thanks to Kirie for providing all the images and details in this article (except the official image above).

The event opened with our hosts showing the contents of a Series 4 booster box. Like recent boxes, the Series 4 box includes one of two promotional cards (Roy or Micaiah) and one of two exclusive sleeves (Mystery of the Emblem or Awakening).
