Community Spotlight: Fódlan Cuizine, coming soon [Preorders up now until August 2]

I’ve been graced with another truly unique fan project this time, and I’d be remiss to let it slide by unnoticed by the masses. Today, we’re taking a look at the Fódlan Cuizine project, a zine with more than just its print, that celebrates the food lover’s experience of the Three Houses installment. This project is led by Pear, and includes efforts from over 50 talented artists across the Fire Emblem fanbase. What’s special about this zine, you ask? Why, it’d not only be the stickers, acrylic charms, washi tape and memo pad, but also the tea towels, ceramic coasters and recipe cards.

Inspired by the everlasting bonds deepened through the sharing of teatime and meals at Garreg Mach Monastery, Fódlan Cuizine is a safe for work fanzine and cookbook celebrating the food, friendships, and families of Fódlan. Spanning 120 plus pages of original content produced by over 50 contributors, the zine includes 8 stories, 30+ pieces of artwork, and 40+ original, tested recipes along with exclusive merchandise items. Six tiers of book and merch bundles can be found on the zine’s Big Cartel.

The theme of Fódlan Cuizine is warmth and community. The zine highlights the various relationships in Fire Emblem Three Houses, raising a toast (or two!) to family, friendship, and everlasting bonds.

Preorders for Fódlan Cuizine are available from now until August 2, with expectations to ship around October of this year, and can be processed through their official web site (linked above). These bundles are available to ship out of the US, where everything is being produced. All proceeds from the sale of the zine will be donated to the charity Action Against Hunger, an international organization that works to treat and prevent malnutrition in 45+ countries.

Heroes: Resplendent Amelia Marches In & July/August Event Calendar!

July’s second Resplendent Hero will be Amelia: Rose of the War.

This little lady is wearing armor based on Jötunheimr, the other realm that appears in Book V. She’ll be available from 25th July 2021 at 7 am (UTC). In the meantime, you can preview her artwork (by Kanzawa Yo) and voice clips via the Feh Pass website.

Also, the event calendar for July through August has been published. Let’s see what’s cooking…

Following the double whammy of Summer banners, the next batch of New Heroes will arrive on 19th July, followed by more Special Heroes on 5th August. Also, the next Mythic Hero will descend on 29th July; is it too early to add Nifl?

As usual, the text version of the calendar is below~

Heroes: Fjorm Stars in “Flower of Ice” Music Video!

The Fire Emblem Heroes team is continuing the Book II hype with another special video, this time featuring Fjorm singing her heart out.

“Flower of Ice” is performed by Cristina Vee Valenzuela, with English lyrics by Christian Nutt and original Japanese lyrics by Saori Kodama. Conveniently, there are multiple translations available via the captions.

If you’re curious, there’s also a Japanese version of the music video, with Chinese subtitles.

Unless I’ve misremembered, this is the first time we’ve seen Anna’s high-resolution 3D model as well.

Heroes: “Ice & Flame” Tempest Trials Series Follows On From Book II

The current Tempest Trials event that started in Fire Emblem Heroes today is slightly different to the norm. “Ice & Flame 1” continues from where Book II left off, with Fjorm encountering Nifl, the God of Ice.

For those who haven’t played Book II or need a recap, the FE Heroes team has created a special video just for you!

As its name suggests, “Ice & Flame 1” is the first of a multi-part series; it will be continued in “Ice & Flame 2”, available after the 5.8.0 update, which should arrive some time in August.

Because the story is important, the cutscenes from the “Ice & Flame” series will be added to the Event Recap once each respective Tempest Trials is over, regardless of whether players saw them or not.

Please continue for some screenshots from “Ice & Flame 1”, including our first look at Nifl!
