Heroes: Additions arrive from Abyss and Múspell on Sept 17

I certainly wasn’t expecting this in the latest Heroes banner, but I’m definitely ok with the surprise, in the Abyss & Múspell banner, featuring Yuri, Constance and Hapi from the Fire Emblem Three Houses DLC, as well as the next Heroes OC in Múspell.

There are a handful of variant skills in the batch, and a heck of a lot of Canto amongst the arrivals from Abyss. New skills include Atk/Res Catch 4, A/S Far Trace 3, AR-Def/Res 4, and probably the most notable for scorekeepers in the arena, C Duel Infantry 4.

Additionally, Balthus: King of Grappling, a Green Axe Infantry (and showing off how good of a grappler he is by using an Axe…), will be an upcoming unit available as a 3* or 4* in the summoning pool. Furthermore, Aelfric: Custodian Monk, will be the next Grand Hero Battle unit, which can be earned in his respective Grand Hero Battle available on Sept 17. You can also spark a unit after 40 summons, and finally, there will be a Celestial Stone also available after 40 summons.

The Abyss & Múspell banner will kick off on September 17 at 12a PT.

Community Spotlight: Nacre Artbook, a Color Palette Character Study (preorders open until Sept 13)

Across social media, you may have seen a project or two from the Fire Emblem fanbase showing off cool creations like bookmarks, -zines, acrylic charms and more. Fans certainly are capable of creating projects with cool themes and unique elements! One such project happened across my desk recently, and it definitely met both of those criteria, and I’m here to share it with you; the Fire Emblem Three Houses Color Zine, Nacre.

Nacre boasts a theme of limited color palette character studies, by simulating a color wheel within its pages. It’s not every day that you see art in a fan-zine sorted and grouped by color, but this idea immediately caught my eye, and I hope it catches yours as well.

The project itself can be viewed at their BigCartel page and, what’s more, preorders for this zine are open until September 13. Additionally, their social media options include Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram.

There are three options for purchase; the straight digital book [PDF] (for $25) the Book Bundle (for $35, and includes the PDF, as well as an artbook and a bookplate), and the Full Bundle (for $50, and includes the Book Bundle contents, plus washi tape and a charm).

Additionally, two stretch goals were met, allowing the inclusion of a holographic cover and a gorgeous enamel Sothis pin. Regardless of what you order, it’s expected that you will have something in-hand by the end of November!

Heroes: Legendary Micaiah prepares to take the stage, Aug 31 – Sept 6

It’s that time again, for another Legendary Hero to join the fray. This time, we have someone who was due to receive the title eventually, in Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn’s Micaiah.

Legendary Micaiah is a Colorless Tome Infantry, Wind-affinity Legendary Hero with the Duel blessing, the Pair-Up property, and comes with a slew of new skills, including 3 PRFs and one new (likely) inheritable option in Joint Dist. Guard. , which does pretty much what you’d expect it to. As far as her PRFs go, her weapon boasts in optimal scenarios, dual-effectiveness as per normal, +23 Atk, +6 Res, guaranteed follow-ups, and on player phase, Desperation 2. Additionally, her B-PRF gives a -5 Atk/Res debuff on foes and also gives her a 30% damage reduction from 2-range enemies. If she isn’t attacking, her Assist-PRF is a unique combination of Harsh Command+ and Sacrifice, that converts penalties into bonuses, removes remaining penalties (presumably things such as movement penalties), and refills a targets HP to a max of Micaiah’s HP -1.

As always with a Legendary Hero banner, we’ll see an inclusion of an 8% Focus summoning rate on a specific set of 11 other heroes, in addition to our Legendary Hero of choice. The set includes:

  • Blue
    • Farina
    • Ingrid
    • Nagi
  • Colorless
    • Ashera
    • Edelgard (Fallen)
  • Green
    • Edelgard (Legendary)
    • F!Morgan (Fallen)
    • Thrasir
  • Red
    • Lilina (Legendary)
    • M!Morgan (Fallen)
    • Sothis

The Legendary Hero (Micaiah: Radiant Queen) banner drops on August 31, and runs until September 6. Good luck, Summoners!

FEH: Choose Your Legends 5 Units Revealed, Pelleas GHB Announced, and More

Fans have long anticipated the reveal of the Choose Your Legends 5 quartet, and today, we finally have news on them, in today’s Feh Channel and Keepers of Faith Banner Trailer!

To summarize, we have:

  • Marth, an incredibly powerful sword infantry that despite bringing a Falchion as per normal, comes with a wild assortment of buffing abilities for himself and his party members, a new Distant Counter type of A skill, and a conditional Vantage that has no HP check
  • Eirika, a very strong lance cavalry unit that has a strong defensive build in both her weapon’s %-reduction and her self-healing A skill through, as well as a B skill that acts as an enhanced Luna that also disables Guard effects
  • Marianne, a colorless tome infantry dancer that can reflexively dance a nearby unit simply by engaging in combat on player phase, including other dancers.
  • Gatekeeper, a super defensive green tome infantry that comes with a Close Counter variant, a useful version of Obstruct through his B Prf, and a weapon that bestows a variety of debuffs on enemies based on cardinally-placed allies similar to the Arvis/Saias 3-row/column range condition.

Along with these mighty units, comes a way to free-summon during this Choose Your Legend Summon Event. Summoners will get a free pull of their choice immediately on release (nothing new here as every banner has a free ‘Redeem’ on it), but also, a free Spark’able unit of their choice at 40, 80, 120 and 160 Summons. The caveat to this is that for each one that you pick, they become unavailable for following Sparks, meaning that you cannot spark a single unit more than one time in this. You’ll also get up to four Celestial Stones through these Sparks.

There’s a bit more news to add, as the Choose Your Legends 4 selection that is present for new players, will be expiring by August 31. If you have a friend that may want to give Fire Emblem Heroes a shot, encourage that they attempt to join and summon before then, to score a powerful free Hero.

Additionally, starting on August 17, there is a Dragonflower upgrade, as all units can have an additional 5 Dragonflowers spent on themselves, at a cost of 40, 80, 120, 160 and 200 per application of Dragonflower. Each applied Dragonflower will apply +1 to a unit’s stat, as per normal. Conveniently, there will be a Log-In bonus, awarding Summoners with 120 of each Dragonflower, allowing for effectively a free +2 application to a unit [per each of the 4 movement-types] of their choice. This Log-In Bonus only requires a single log in.

Through courtesy of the Fire Emblem Heroes Twitter accounts, we have news that Pelleas: Ashnard’s Orphan will be the next Grand Hero Battle unit, kicking off on August 18. I expect him to be a Red Tome unit, per his Dark Magic weapon proficiency from Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, and his art, which is visible through the official Meet The Heroes page.

Speaking of that, the Meet The Heroes page has been updated with all four of Eirika, Gatekeeper, Marianne and Marth, as well as Pelleas. Full in-game character artwork for each of the five can be seen on these pages, as well as the chibis, and some story details if you’d like to see them. I highly recommend you check out Gatekeeper’s, at least for the animals in his in-game and chibi artworks.
