Fire Emblem 2022 Retrospective

As 2022 approaches the end, here’s a look back at some key Fire Emblem events that happened this year.

I’m unsure how many people noticed, but I ended up skipping the retrospective for 2021 because not a lot happened that year. Thankfully 2022 was a lot more eventful!

To begin with, a scale figure of female Byleth from the 2019-released Three Houses was revealed in mid-January. This wouldn’t be the only new piece of Three Houses merchandise, by far.

Next, during early February, the annual Choose Your Legends vote was held for FE Heroes.

The winners were Chrom and Tiki from Awakening, followed by Seliph from Genealogy and, funnily enough, female Byleth.

Around the same time, a memorial box was announced to celebrate the 5th anniversary of FE Heroes. Wow, has it really been around that long? Hmm, mildly jealous of those who got the Feh plush…

Fire Emblem Engage: Panette & Sommie Tidbits via Twitter

Today’s daily Fire Emblem Engage content includes Panette’s profile, plus a profile for Sommie, among other things.

Here’s Panette:

Panette (VA: Yukina Shutō) is a royal knight of Solm. Although she’s polite and graceful, she used to be a lot more wild, and remants of her wild behaviour can be seen when she fights.

A battle scene:

Panette is at a Solmese map during night, with fog of war active, previously seen in Ike’s overview.

Panette is a Level 1 Berserker with a Silver Axe, Hand Axe and Vulnerary. Joining her are Timerra, her liege, and Merrin, her retainer-in-arms.

Her foe is a Ruffian. During battle, Merrin’s Knightly Escort triggers for her and Timerra’s Racket of Solm triggers for the enemy.

Heroes: Askr and Embla Celebrate the New Year in “Gods Renewed”

Fire Emblem Heroes is celebrating the arrival of 2023 with more New Year themed versions of the game’s original characters and Beast characters.

The “Gods Renewed” summoning event will run from 1st January to 1st February 2023.

The Special Heroes include Ash, Elm, Panne and Duo Askr with Embla.

In addition, Yarne will be available from the Tempest Trials+ event.

Today’s daily Fire Emblem Engage content includes Lapis’s profile, plus an introduction to the various game modes in the Tower of Trials.

Lapis’s profile:

Lapis (VA: Tomoyo Takayanagi) is a royal knight of Brodia, and Alcryst’s retainer. She’s good-natured and kind. Because she was trained to survive as a hunter, she’s stronger than most, despite her frail and delicate appearance.

A battle scene featuring Lapis:

Lapis is at the Brodian defence map, where Ivy makes her entrance, I believe.

She’s a Level 10 Sword Fighter. with an Iron Blade, Iron Sword and Vulnerary.

Allies include Amber (cut off lance cavalry), Diamant (sword, synced with Roy), Alfred (lance cavalry), Citrinne (tome), Clanne (tome), Alcryst (bow), Alear (sword), Céline (sword), Etie (bow) and Framme (body arts/staff). Oddly, the player hasn’t equipped Marth, Sigurd, Celica or Micaiah.

The foe is a poor Elusan Axe Pegasus. The Iron Blade triggers Smash because of its weapon effect and Break because of the weapon triangle.
