Collab for Extra Life Charity Event (Team FE) Closes Out With a Huge Success

Assuming you’ve been keeping up with our front page posts this month, our friends at Reddit subs r/FireEmblem and r/FireEmblemHeroes, or perhaps just my personal Twitter, you know that I partnered up with r/FEH mod /u/DarkDogDemon for the second year in a row, to put what was our second collaborative charity benefit, Team FE’s ThanksFEving. We hosted the event to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through the Extra Life campaign, and while we were anticipating success, we were floored at just how well things went.

We opted to change things up for viewer convenience (and a little bit of a technical breather) from a single 24-hour streaming session, to four 12-hour sessions, spread across each Saturday in November. This effectively doubled our event time, and also made us easier to watch by our largely North American audience. What it also did was make things much easier for both player and guest appearance scheduling, as this year, showcasing the players was not the only side-objective of our event…

Not counting the several voice actors that offered up their hand in signing some goodies for giveaways/raffles/incentives (yes that pun was intended), we had more than fifteen voice actors and actresses join us live, on stream, to support the cause. Returning names include Greg Chun, our huge hit from 2017’s single VO appearance, as well as friend of Serenes Forest Rena Strober, both of whom shattered expectations and really made the event a memorable one with their contributions on top of their appearances. Not to sell the others short, we also had appearances from Brianna Knickerbocker, Rob Clotworthy, Kyle Hebert, Kaiji Tang, Kyle McCarley, Chris Hackney, Misty Lee, David Vincent, Yuri Lowenthal, Allegra Clark (twice), Christian La Monte, Carrie Keranen, Angela Marie Volpe, and to top it off with the VO that was on with us live as we beat our $10k goal, Lauren Landa (Several of which, also offered up their pen in support). It was a massive turnout, and I don’t know quite know how we’re going to top this next year.

To summarize our success, where we managed to raise $3,540 last year, this year we managed to raise $13,000 of our $10,000 goal, which was nothing short of monumental. It’s impossible for me to express my gratitude to the community, but with support from our players/commentary team (Nairo, Gwimpage, Kirbymastah, Mekkah, AbdallahSmash026, Lord Raven, General Horace, Aethin, Aggro, Shephen, Funny Valentine, Gradivus, GreyWulfos, and Nimious) our artists (Soeda Ippei, ciarre, tecchen, Ravenide, and 24914), our technical streamer (N7_Commander_John), the support team featuring designers, advertising blasters and chat mods from all of our supporting communities (Artists of Askr, FE Compendium and the two FE subreddits), our sponsors at  Unlocked, and anyone else who just helped our event either through contribution or simply word of mouth, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Japanese Merchandise for March 2019

In what is starting to become a routine, Intelligent Systems has announced the next wave of Fire Emblem merchandise scheduled for March 2019.

As you can probably tell from the promotional image, this merchandise is intended for Japanese audiences, but there’s nothing to stop you from importing from places like AmiAmi and CDJapan.

This time, there’s slightly less on offer: 3 types of merchandise versus 4 in previous months. We’re not sure if this is a sign that they’re slowing down or if they simply want to give collectors a short break. Chances are we’ll find out soon enough!

Masking Tape – 800 Yen (excl. tax)

The first exhibit is a set of two Binding Blade decorative tapes, featuring portraits of popular(?) characters and the overhead map. As the example shows, you can overlay the second design to create your own maps. Each tape measures 10 m when fully extended.

“Lost in Thoughts All Alone” Collaboration Track Included in Renka’s Debut Album

Here’s something that might be interesting for music fans! On 23rd January 2019, Renka–the Japanese singer for “Lost in Thoughts All Alone” (the signature song of Fates)–will be releasing her very first album.

Known as “Hoshi no habatakuyoruwa”, which loosely translates to the “The Fluttering Night of Stars”, this album includes 12 tracks since her original debut back in 2015, when she first sang the Japanese version of “Lost in Thoughts All Alone”.

Of course, that particular song is among the 12 tracks. In addition, there’s a 13th bonus track that’s a new version of “Lost in Thoughts Alone” performed together with Lynn, Azura’s Japanese voice actress.

The album itself will retail for 3,000 Yen (plus tax). There’s also a special edition going for 3,700 Yen (plus tax), which includes a “3rd anniversary live voice” DVD with 9 music tracks (“Lost in Thoughts All Alone” not among them).

Heroes: Forging Bonds coming soon!

Another Fire Emblem Heroes news update is here! Today is a tame one – a simple heads up that there will be a new Forging Bonds event beginning on the 28th November, 7:00AM UTC.

The theme this time relates to the four Nifl siblings – Ylgr, Hrid, Gunnthra, and Fjorm – entitled “The Sworn Oath.”

Battle with the following pieces of accessories equipped to your fighting Heroes to raise your bonds with the siblings at a faster rate (up to 2x faster when all units have one of these accessories equipped). Raise your bonds with all four Heroes to unlock dialogue, Orbs, Feathers, new accessories, badges, crystals/gems, and maybe some other goodies I forgot to mention.

The event is the typical 14 days in length, ending on the 12th December, 6:59AM UTC.
