On 22nd June 2016, Series 9 of Fire Emblem Cipher–“Roaring Echoes”–was released. Earlier, we received a wealth of information via the pre-release livestream, so there aren’t that many surprises left.
To begin with, we have details about the upcoming Japanese magazine promos. The August issue of Dengeki Nintendo comes with 2 Alm promo cards, while the August issue of Nintendo Dream includes 2 Celica promo cards. Both magazines are available now.
Secondly, now that Series 9 is out in the wild, the full card list has been added to the official Cipher website. Although the list is in Japanese, you should be able to figure out who’s who by clicking the pictures.
Perhaps the most surprising card is the Necrodragon from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. While there have been “monster” cards in the form of the Awakening‘s Risen Soldiers in Series 8, it’s still a sight to behold. Read more
This past Saturday, Ryota Kawade and Young hosted a pre-release livestream for Fire Emblem Cipher! Series 9 comes out in just a few days, so it was a perfect opportunity to show off new cards and give fans some tidbits of information about upcoming sets.
The release of S9 coincides with the 2nd Anniversary of Cipher, so everyone was ready to celebrate. The room was decorated, Kawade was dressed up as Eldigan, and they even shared a special cake!
The main focus of the stream was, of course, the upcoming Series 9 which releases on 22 June. The booster series, entitled Roaring Echoes, features cards and characters from Fire Emblem Echoes, Binding Blade, Hasha no Tsurugi, Path of Radiance, and Radiant Dawn. The ST Deck Lands of the Gods focuses solely on characters from Echoes.
WARNING: Some of the card images revealed in this article contain character and story spoilers for Fire Emblem Echoes. Please use caution if you have not yet finished the game and are looking to avoid spoilers.
Earlier today, Fire Emblem Cipher fans were presented with the Series 9 pre-release livestream, which our Cipher expert Kirie will cover in full later on.
Of note, we have some new pictures from the Cipher collaboration DLC for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, which launches on the same day as Series 9, on 22nd June 2017, in Japan and the West.
For those unaware, the four Cipher mascots–Emma, Shade, Yuzu and Lando–will be available as playable characters via Cipher Legends I and Cipher Legends II. More details can be found in our previous articles.
Above, we have the finished artworks for Emma and Shade, the former of which was revealed during an earlier livestream, while the latter was still half-finished at the time.
Next we have the official artworks for Yuzu and Lando, which are both completely new.
Finally, we have some in-game screenshots showing the dialogue portraits. Presumably these are from the battle maps and/or the support conversations.
We’re now less than a week away from the Series 9 release of Fire Emblem Cipher! @FECipher has kept up the excitement with another week of reveals, culminating in our very first signed card: Clair SR+ from Fire Emblem Echoes! The signature on the card is from her Japanese voice actress, Aya Endo. She also gets a matching N card.
Another SR card was also revealed earlier this week, this time featuring Zephiel, the main antagonist of Binding Blade. His N card shows a young Zephiel celebrating happier times with his sister Guinivere. It’s a stark comparison to his more violent SR card, which is also the third and final Purple SR of the set.
The remaining reveals for this week are all R foil cards. Delthea from Echoes is featured casting the powerful Ragnarok spell. Two Laguz royals from Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn also get some visually stunning cards: Dheginsea and Caineghis. Caineghis’s whopping 100 Attack is currently the highest in the game.
