Last week, we finally got some concrete details about the mysterious Cipher collaboration DLC coming to Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
Note: Artwork is from Cipher.
A few days later, on 15th May, the Japanese website updated with some additional details about this DLC. Similar information can be found on the North America website.
Firstly, it has been confirmed that the two pieces of DLC are battle maps, as indicated by the DLC being 2-star (Medium) difficulty. After completion of each map, you will recruit the corresponding pair of mascots.
On top of that, each DLC includes brand new support conversations between the corresponding pairs and base conversations for each mascot. Most likely these conversations will be fully voiced just like the ones already found in-game.
To round off the deal, there are new exclusive items that can be earned during the first completion: Trainee’s Lance (Emma), Whimsical Lance (Lando) and Warrior’s Sword (Yuzu). Not to mention the data-mined exclusive arts and spells.
Full details can be found below. Finally, for those unacquainted with the Cipher mascots and interested to learn about them, we’ve put together an introduction just for you!
At long last, one of the worst kept secrets of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has been revealed by Famitsu: a collaboration with 7-Eleven, a popular convenience store chain in Japan.
Between 24th May and 31st July, players can download a special item daily by using the in-store “7-Spot” Wi-Fi. These include an exclusive sword and shield (pictured above), as well as 6 provision items.
What’s special about the two pieces of equipment is that they boost a unit’s stats between the 7th and 11th turns. Meanwhile the provisions restore a lot of HP and Fatigue when consumed, making them useful for extended dungeon trips.
Today, the Fire Emblem Cipher team held the Spring 2017 livestream. Among the card-related news, we finally got a look at the Cipher DLC coming to Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
Firstly, those who buy the Series 9 Starter Pack will receive a download code for four in-game items, which are accessories based off the four Cipher mascots: Emma, Shade, Yuzu and Lando.
These include Emma’s “Hard Worker’s Ribbon” (pictured above), Shade’s “Black Crescent Moon”, Yuzu’s “Warrior’s Warding Bell” and Lando’s “Vagabond’s Hairclip”.
By the way, icons for all four items already exist in the game code, but were overlooked until now. Amusingly, Lando’s accessory is found at the very end of the icon sheet, suggesting it was a last-minute addition.
Of course, Cipher is not available in the West so it’s unknown if players in the West will get these items. If we’re fortunate, maybe they will be bundled with the character DLC, which we’ll discuss now.
Now that we’re getting closer to the Fire Emblem Cipher Series 9 release, daily reveals are finally starting! @fecipher started the flow of reveals on Monday with these two cards of Alm and Celica from Fire Emblem Echoes.
These particular cards are not actually a part of the booster series, but are instead exclusive to the structured deck. Entitled “Lands of the Gods”, the deck includes 60 cards, all of which feature characters from Echoes. Some cards are exclusive, others are reprints from the booster series. Alm and Celica will be included in both foil and non-foil varieties.
Half of the cards in the S9 booster series is made of red cards devoted to Echoes characters, while the other half is evenly split between green and purple. Among the green cards revealed this week is our first SR for Skrimir from Radiant Dawn. We also get to see Skrimir’s unpromoted card and also a card for Rafiel.
For purple cards this week, we get lovely joined art cards of Roy from Binding Blade and Al from Hasha no Tsurugi. Jemmie also gets to shine in the spotlight as a rare foil card. One of Jemmie’s card effects references having her brother, Zeed, on the field, so we can also expect to see him included in the set.
